Traveling to India? Find Alibaug hotels

I unknowingly booked wrong dates at one late night, assuming I have booked the date we had planned, we reached the hotel after 6 hours drive all the way from Vasai to Alibaug. We realised we booked wrong dates, then planned, as I had baby of 4 years along, was really worried as she was hungry and we were tired of driving. But the lady on reception named SHALAKA, made us feel very comfortable and helped us by altering the booking She is an asset for your property. Would like to see her promoted on my next visit. Other staff is great too. Your property is like a Oasis in Alibaug dessert. Lovely place. Thanks a lot Shalaka again.

It was an excellent experience. It is always difficult to travel with young kids. We have a 7 year old and 3 year old twin boys. The hotel staff was Very co-operative. It was such a wonderful overall experience that I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. The food was excellent. The restaurant manager Abhinav was very helpful and made sure that we as well as the kids had a great time at the restaurant. We were upgraded to the villa which was a pleasant surprise. The villa was very spacious and very comfortable. About hotel amenities, There is so much to do at the hotel that it was relaxing to stay within the hotel. Games room had table tennis, fusbol, carrom, chase. Also there is a karaoke machine if you are in a mood to sing. Live piano performance and rendition of songs was very much soothing. We didn't visit the bar but saw people having a good time. The pool is very big and there is a separate baby pool. If you are in a mood to go to a beach, The versoli beach is only about 5 km away while kashid ( which is a better beach) is about 40 kms away. All in all, the hotel is excellent and may say its the best property in the alibaug area.

I booked the Outpost as a location in Alibaug where we could have a family holiday with the needs of three generations in mind. When I booked it, I was a bit dubious as the stay price was on the higher side while the pictures on Agoda (and on TripAdvisor) were not particularly appealing. I decided to take a chance and book it and what a good decision it turned out to be. The Outpost has beautifully maintained gardens with lovely rooms and facilities including a nice swimming pool, poolside bar, a superb games room (which included a mini-theatre, squash court, table tennis, carrom, assorted board games and a pool table), impeccable food (Veg only but that didn't matter much) and a good location to explore Alibaug from. Staff was courteous and helpful which created a welcoming atmosphere. I would like to particularly commend head chef Prakash Sharma who delighted with some superb cooking and Mr Govind Patil who looks after the games room. I would thoroughly recommend the Outpost !!

I booked the hotel keeping in view the facility offered and its proximity to beach, my wife was a bit anxious about my choice after reading lots of negative reviews. It wasn’t difficult to locate, coming by road but the moment I turned my car to its narrow approach road, she turned furious oh crap! for this we are paying over 4k/night. But the entrance lobby was serene and front desk staff with smiling face, we were given good welcome drink and were taken to one room at 1st floor. The inside of the hotel was totally different what it looked from outside, nice and clean swimming pool, greenery all around, really nice place to be. I don’t know how people write misleading reviews; the pool was having children’s area clearly demarcated. The water slide was working and the hospitable staff obliged us by restarting it when the time was over. The room was big and clean, there were clean bead sheets and towels and toiletry was provided. AC, Flush, TV were all working properly (as against claimed by some negative reviews). We had booked breakfast at the locality, which was prepared well and we enjoyed it while sitting beside the pool. Overall it was a nice stay, the only complain was the noisy window AC, but that can’t be really called a complain amid the serene environment.

The stay was definitely good, but did face inconvenience due to mismanagement at Agoda's end and Sai-Inn booking staff. On arrival we were given rooms in annex, which is quite at end of the property. The net booking said superior rooms, which we got only after taking a tough stand at the reception. Agoda does not have customer service in India, which is a huge disappointment. Whatever the miscommunication between Agoda and Sai-Inn, we had to bear the brunt while checking in. Can be avoided in future if you guys are very clear in what you show online is what the customer gets.

We stayed on 12thMarch'14 for a night. We booked the hotel an hr before reaching the bungalow. We went by PNP boat(Gateway-Mandwa) and from there by PNP bus which goes to alibag. On the way is the Ganwatkar bungalow just 15mins from Mandwa. Its on the road, so easy to see. It also has SBI atm just outside the bungalow. Welcome drink was served. 1st floor room was offered to us. The room was very cool and clean. It had a small garden outside the room facing the road. The bungalow had a neat and clean swimming pool. In the evening we went for a walk till the beach. The beach is far. The bungalow serves food but with limited standard option such as thali or any regular dry dish. So we went to Hotel Vaibhav which is walking distance from the bungalow. The food was good. Overall we had a good time.

I had booked the place for close access to Varsoli beach. also there is no wifi there; in fact the whole area is not connected yet. So that information is also plain wrong. There is no food available anywhere close by, so you have to go to Alibag main town. The manager was quite unfriendly and seldomly present, very untypical for people here. The other staff was helpful though, but didnt speak any english. I had to ask to have my room cleaned on arrival as there was an armada of small ants due to some unnoticed rubbish. Not possible to keep any food in room, ants will straight get to it. besides that the room was quiet and clean enough. Hot shower was good. The area itself is nice. The village is lovely and Varsoli beach is peaceful and secluded. No clothes changing facilities though and only a few small food stalls.

I am completely unsatisfied with this experience. They have mentioned it as 3 Star property where amenities are poor than 1 Star hotel. Explaining it one by one. 1- Premises - It is under construction Hostel like building where rooms are in a row as we see in any Hostel like building. This property is situated in village type place, where you cannot reach by Google MAP, only Hotel staff can take you there. 2- Reception - You will be surprise there is no reception. Two house keeping staff is sitting with one table and managing this so called resort, this is property of Hotel Sahyadri which is 2 KM away from this property. 3- Kitchen - They don't have kitchen, if you order anything it will come from their another Hotel 2 KM away from this property. 4- Toiletries - They don't keep any toiletry in washroom and toilet. On request they gave us one Lifebuoy soap. 5- TV - Cable is not working most of the time. 6- FAN - Regulator is not functioning. 7- Breakfast - Pathetic and it will serve to you 2 KM away from this property and quality of small dhaba under non-hygienic condition.

The building was tidy and clean. We were shown to our room, but then we were asked to change to a different, smaller room for some reason. We held out for the first room, which was fine. The restaurant that was advertised as being of international, multicultural standard, did not exist. We did not get any food at all in the evening. Breakfast was basic, but OK. We felt unwelcome. The location was reasonable, however auto rickshaws were rare. The policy statement on the hotel website does not portray reality.

We were 2 families who took a vacation on Christmas weekend of 2015 in Alibaug. This is NOT a review of Alibaug but of the hotel. Pros: Place is easy to locate. It is clean for use It has a working lift and friendly staff. Food is priced appropriately though the room rentals seemed a bit higher but is value for money. The window sill with mattress was cozy especially for kids.(not sure if all rooms have it) Neutral observations The food is mildly spicy but less spicy is also available on request. While the menu is limited, you may ask for custom food to be ordered from their sister hotel nearby The websites offer free breakfast but the hotel had mentioned those are outdated websites and the breakfast is not included for new customers. However it was honored for us. The hot water is NOT 24 hours. It is Solar heater based and is available from 7:00 to 11:00. Plan accordingly. Sea beach is 10 minutes walk away.
