It was nice. Family room was nice enough but even after me phoning ahead the day before and the guy saying he was writing down notes for housekeeping we still didnt get twin beds. It was a double. My teenager daughter and I wanted separate beds. I asked for a twin and I got a double even though there was a fold down couch. It was a special weekend for my daughter and I wanted us both to have the same bed - not me sleep in a king and her in a kids single! After i went down to reception to ask about it - the receptionist told me she would send housekeeping in at 5pm when they started work. When we went out at 7.30 still nobody had come - I had to remind her on the way out. We were there for skiing and wanted to be up at the upper car park by 8am - not too early right so I asked for breakfast in room. NOT POSSIBLE BEFORE 9am!!! What??? What a strange rule. This was a Friday, Saturday busy holiday weekend in a ski resort and you can't get breakfast before 9am. Unbelievable! The dining room didn't open till 7 so we walked over. I did not like the fact that breakfast was served in a different building. It was snowing freezing and dark and it was about a 5-10 min walk. Would not return for this reason.

Hotel is very nice but wouldn't stay again as leisure section wasn't what I was looking for, more suitable for family, not saying its not nice but its large and catering for children, sauna wasn't working and steam room only sat 6 people,,, room was very nice but unfortunately radiator made noises every half hour or so like a kettle coming to boil, so no sleep was had until I turned it off, staff were friendly and very polite, located very good but that's expected in Aviemore

Staff and breakfast 4 star. Our room had inadequate lighting and water pressure in shower. Shower head fell of shower hose in fact while showering. No lift available from reception to rooms on second floor. A young female receptionist offered to help carry bags up stairs - 4 stars, I don’t think so! Room Furnishings and hotel hallways had passed their ‘best by used’ date by a number of years.

Well run guesthouse, breakfast is very good. Good location in main street. the gentleman owner quite aggressive and unfriendly, knocking on door immediately after checkout time demanding we leave and demanding immediate payment etc. we were there as a family and not sure what warranted that. Ladies were great, spent a lot of time chatting to my young children and making them welcome.

Convenient for public transport, for getting to Aviemore/Rothiemurchus Estate/Glenmore walks, and just next to a small nature reserve, perfect for evening strolls. Just on the South side of town, so quiet, but easy to get to the 'action,' such as it is in Aviemore. We highly recomment the nearby Indian 'Royal Tandoori' restaurant for when you don't want to cook for yourself.

The hotel was very accessible: right in front of the train station-less than 5mins walking distance. There's also a bus stop right in front with buses travelling up to cairngorm mountains. The hotel has its own restaurant, other dining areas are also nearby (indian restaurant 5 mins walk away etc). Hotel was very clean. Room was big. Staff was friendly and helful. The only cons: No lifts. So, you'd have to carry your luggages up but it's only 3 levels high.

We stayed two nights at Ardlogie and had a lot of pleasure staying there. The hosts are very friendly, dynamic and happy to help you plan your day. The breakfast menu is impressive in diversity and everything we tasted was delicious. The location is good, at walking distance from the train station and the restaurants in the centre of the town, some of which offering a discount if you show you are staying there.
