We stayed here overnight while guests at a wedding in the same hotel. Setting was superb - and, so far as I could tell as a guest, the wedding was well done. Setting stunning, beautiful hotel, large, comfortable room, beautifully presented tasty food. To be picky, the room looked good - but there are some issues. Temperature difficult to regulate. I turned off the underfloor heating at 11pm. It was still hot 10 hours later. Bath enormous - but very high to get in to - with no grab handle to assist. If you take hold of the towel rail you would burn yourself. Needs a bit of thought to sort out!

Needing somewhere to stay after a wedding, we booked one night's bed and breakfast at the Royal Hotel. The room was clean and spacious, the two members of staff we spoke to we're very pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent too. The only fly in the ointment was that it was a bit tricky to get to on account of the one way system in the town centre. Obviously this isn't the fault of the hotel - but just something to be aware of if booking.
