Traveling to Bangladesh? Find Dhaka hotels

1. Location : Situated at Dhaka City Centre but its actually quite far from the main attraction like Lalbagh Fort, Dhaka New Markert, Ahsan Manzil, Parliament Building and Bashundhara City Mall (in radius 5km). You have to take trishaw to the main attraction (not really in walking distance). From Dhaka Airport can take intercity train to Kamalapur Station (about 2km from this hotel) and the fare is only 20 taka for 45 minutes journey. Uber/taxi comfortable but due to heavy traffic jam, better to take inter city train. 2. Food : A lot of halal restaurant/street food around the hotel. Same breakfast everyday - paratha/omelet/vegetable. No other option at all. 3. Shopping : No any groceries shop around the hotel. The nearest is at stadium (about 500m from hotel). The nearest shopping area is night market around Baitul Muqarram Mosque and stadium. If you wanted to buy souvenir, the best place is in front of Dhaka University. The only place selling fridge magnet in Dhaka. Other souvenirs can buy at Dhaka New Market. 4. Facilities : Internet just so-so. Only small towel and soap provided. No mineral water, iron or water heater provided. They only clean the room only if you request (from 9am to 9pm). Room telephone not function. 5. Staff : So this was the incident. We were booking for Deluxe Room but the receptionist told us all the Deluxe Room was full! He push us to pay extra RM 200 to upgrade to VIP Room since term of payment is "Pay At Hotel" and we have not pay yet. we can't cancel the booking because Agoda will automatically charge the credit card if we didnt show up. So, there u go. Adding more cost for unworth room eventhough we realize there is not many customers at the hotel. No point arguing. 6. Value for money : Not Worth for the price. Disappointing.

With any hesitation, I will recommend it to other overall colleagues and specially those from my technical group to attend it as soon as they will be in Dhaka. The hotel is located in what the locals say is the safest area in Dhaka - close to the embassies and ambassadors' residences in Gulshan-2. The hotel is new (just over a month old) and the rooms are big, very clean, and comfortable. They also have a generator, which is a very good thing to have in Dhaka where the power supply is erratic. On my second day there, power must have gone off 3 times in a span of a few hours. They also have wi-fi, which is very convenient for one who is in Dhaka for business or work. The service is very good - the manager was very attentive to my needs and made me feel very much at home. I have recommended the hotel to our team of international consultants on a project, who will all be staying there for at least one month each.

I wasn't sure about this place at first. When I arrived they sent me to a different hotel just next door. They seem to not have my booking. However my misgivings quickly disappeared. The staff are super friendly and very helpful and are perhaps the real highlight of the hotel. The location is perfect if you're visiting Dhaka as a tourist and want to be near the tourist sites in old Dhaka and around. If you stay in groschen with Dhaka traffic there are long waits in traffic jams to get anywhere. The bedroom was good,The only problem being with the smell from the bathroom. I mention this to the staff and they sent out a maintenance man which made it better but it was still a little bit and didn't. But perhaps the real downside for me at the hotel was the restaurant the food was awful. On the first night I tried a vegetable curry which was horrible. The breakfasts were not much better. However I was happy to eat street food and to eat out in restaurants. So all in all I like the hotel love the staff very friendly place I would happily go back and stay there again for the staff and the general quality of the room and for the location

So, I had received an email from the hotel asking me when I would arrive at the airport so they could pick me up, but I couldn't find the driver and ended up walking over the footbridge to cross the main road and then getting a rickshaw (which the hotel paid for). The owner was extremely helpful with the other things I had to do - provided a car to take me back to the airport the next morning to book my onward flight, found out how to get a sim card (which you have to do in the airport) and then arranged the car again to take me back to the airport for my flight. Definitely worth staying here for the convenience of being near the airport.

I booked without looking at reviews on the web. After i booked and was browsing around and found some very negative comments about this hotel and just regretted about the choice but since i was going to just stay for a couple of days and thought i will brave it thru. Anyway, the hotel was perfectly ok for the 40-50 dollar range. I had previously stayed at the nicer hotels in Dhaka but i am not going to pay 3 times the price for just a night of sleep. Air conditioning was good, Wifi was perfect and i called home for free for a good long time on Skype. Location is very close to that "5th Ave" of Dhaka, it is about half a mile from Gulshan district and in case you are not use to the local food, there is all that franchise eatery (Pizza hut.....and everything else in between),that helps.If you are spending your own money like myself on a business trip, this hotel works wonderful. Ask the hotel staff and they are very keen to help.

It was a short trip and i just got found of the hotel. The people namely Mr Shakil and Mr Ryan was great. They both did a splendid job. I am in love with there service. They pick me up from airport with there own transport for FREE. They upgraded me to a royal suite where as i didn't book it. The suite are quite big with adequate room utilities and nice furnishes. TV got cable connections with lots of channels. Room window with main road side view was just awesome and great to see Dhaka most highway road view. Breakfast was quite good to taste which was included with the room rent. Total there service seems quite good and appreciable. It was a nice experience for me to see something like this hotel doing so good in city like DHAKA. I would defiantly recommend to everyone searching for a good hotel with security in Dhaka. Hope they keep up to mark in the near future.

I have been to over 30 countries...stayed at many many hotels. This was my first time I met a manager came to my room and asked me how satisfied during the check-in procedures. The best was once I mentioned I am not that willing to go out for dinner due to it's already dark outside, he even spent time accompanying with me. We had a very nice talk on the way to the supermarket. He realized I am from a very well educated country called Taiwan. I realized he joined this tourism industry since 1998. I have to say do to my job is a reporter, my stay in Bangladesh was so stressful cause all that scenery I have seen was so.........bad...this country makes me so stressful....but I was so pleasure to meet such a nice manager at the end of my trip. He finally gave me a very good impression of Bangladesh.

As this was my first time to Bangladesh, I made arrangements to be picked up from the airport and the guest house owner Chisty was where he said he be, exactly when he said he would be there. He insured each of my needs were met including a very favorable currency exchange rate, securing a sim card for me, and being extremely flexible with my prepaid room when my plans changed due to boat schedules. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone first entering Dhaka, leaving Dhaka for your last few days or if you find yourself in Dhaka in the middle of your itinerary. You will be well taken care of!

Management and staff couldn't of done a better job of making sure i fully enjoyed my stay in Dhaka. Everyone is very friendly and always ready to lend a hand or inform you on places to go and se in Dhaka. A big thank you to the owner Mr Harney and his son Prince who treated me more like a friend than a guest. I would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers of Dhaka.

Arrived late in the morning and they arranged airport pickup for us. There was a little confusion as we had booked the superior suite. On booking website it said there were two bathrooms but actually there was only 1 small bathroom for the two small rooms. Rooms were not spotlessly clean but acceptable for the price. Will stay again for a short trip and staff were most helpful. Breakfast was small, simple but good. Recommended for busy business travelers who won't be spending much time in the hotel.

Hotel Milina provided me with once-off complimentary return airport transfers. There was no fruit basket upon arrival in the hotel room. There are no signs on how to turn on the hot showers. So I have to bear with cold showers. Breakfast is limited to cornflakes with milk, toast, eggs and one glass of fruit juice, and one optional Bengali dish. It needs to widen the variety of food and present the food buffet-style. The bed is cosy. Mosquito net is provided upon request. So bring mosquito repellent along to this Dhaka hotel. Although of proximity to the various Bangladeshi airlines' offices, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone if return transfers have to be paid.

This is my third time staying at hotel sarina. Room is big and comfortable. Blackout happens but I think it is quite common in Dhaka. But always the backup generator kicks in less than 30 seconds so no problem with that. Best part of the hotel is the food options. They have 4 restaurants with plenty of options. Their Elite club serves pretty decent thai food now. Interesting.

We chose this hotel as it was near to railway stations we would be arriving at. It is difficult to find so perhaps some signage or instructions on the Agora site would help. The venue was also chosen as it listed a spa/ steam room and extra large beds, a bathtub and 40sq m room. It did not live up to this, \the reason is that this was an apartment block so the extra space making the 40 sq m is actually shared space with the other 3 bedrooms. The spa and steam room are yet to be built/ installed , there was no bath newspaper, microwave, laptop safe - all promised. On the other hand the food was fabulous - best breakfast during the whole month away and Tamam was a great, cheerful assert. We ate in twice at night and it was delicious food served on the rooftop area which was lovely This has the potential to be first class if they improve the maintenance and fulfil their promises
