i did stayed in this hotel because had a business trip to ellesmere port. normally would advise to stay in chester but holiday inn at ellesmere port was not a bad choice. good quality although a standard hoiday inn. i did appreciate it does not look too industrial. hotel itself has a nice environment because located next to a canal. i did appreciate the free parking ...
The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth, with hallways and stairs between floors and strange connections. The bar / restaurant is outdated and unattractive except if you are 70+. The staff are never to be seen at the reception and don't wear any formal clothing/uniforms.
This lodge is within walking distance to train station and national waterways museum, very convenient for travellers who didn't drive and want to explore Ellesmere port by foot. Owner is very nice and helpful.
