The technical equipment in the rooms was certainly outdated and the floors and walls worn-out but given that the majority of houses in Britain are old and leaky with outdated equipment, this was not really an issue. This was made up for by the overall very lovely and friendly atmosphere. The reception hall was pitoresque. Overall, it was the place where we felt best in our seven day stay in scotland encompassing Edinburgh, Glasgow and Fort William

Travelling from the North and arrived at 12 lunchtime. Informed check in was 3pm so had lunch and drove into Fort William town about 5 minute drive away. Back late afternoon collected room keys for room 403. Double Classic Room situated outside of the main building. Clean comfortable with everything we would wish. Facing the very busy main road but very tired so not a problem. Had dinner again in the bar which was very good. A very big plate which I couldn't finish and a lovely Apple Tart and pouring cream. Hubby's favourite. Took remains of the bottle of house wine we purchased with dinner to our room as we were exhausted. Very comfortable bed. Slept soundly. Would recommend this hotel.

We had a 10 day road trip itinerary of Scotland and decided to make this stop in ft William a day of pleasure and relaxation... the castle was beautiful and made us feel like we had taken a trip into the past. The grounds were quite and well manicured. It was a warm evening and we slept with our windows open... to awaken with birds chirping right outside our window was a treat. The dinner was very expensive but we all agreed that the meat was the most tender and tasteful of the entire trip... we would definitely return but for two nights minimum!!

At first, I thought this hotel was closer to Fort William than it was. The public transport to this once railway station converted to a hotel at the Kentallen pier is rather sparse. I chose to organise a car, and given the sunset that followed, I'm glad I did. The bus would have meant missing this rather amazing spectacle. The room, facilities, service was above average. My only regret was not spending more time enjoying the surrounds. Worth noting that it is almost half way between Oban and Fort William.

The hotel is only 5 mins walk away from the Fort William town centre. So it was really convenient for us to walk out for dinner. The hotel has 2 parts but we were at the side without a lift so it was a bit tough for bring our 3 big luggages up to the 3rd floor. Where our room was the stairs were also narrow. Overall, it was a nice place to stay and the room is very clean. Breakfast was good too.

Stayed here for 4 nights to see the Downhill Mountain Biking competition. Had a great room overlooking the loch with just fabulous views. The room was huge complete with large ensuite bathroom - plenty of room for drying wet clothes (come prepared for every season in one day!) Very comfortable. House is full of character. Lovely bar with fireplace, sofas and a large collection of special whisky! Good parking, cooked buffet and continental breakfast. The only 2 things I thought it was missing was a breakfast menu of other options i.e. kippers, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs... and a power shower. Shower was a modern electric with low power. Super location particularly when Fort William is busy - its about 15 mins drive outside FW but that meant we could eat in local bars and restaurants easily. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay!

Our drive to the hotel was beautiful and we loved taking our car on the ferry to reach the hotel side. We stayed in the Juniper Pod - it was cozy and well equipped. We had everything we needed for our one night stay. The views from the pod and the distillery restaurant were really beautiful. The only blemish in our stay was the dining services. We were excited to eat at a distillery that supposedly had lots of gin options. When asking our server for drink menus - he said they did not have any. When asking what kinds of gin they served or any cocktails he could recommend - he just told us they can make us anything we want - and then he walked away. We asked about beer options - ciders - he only told us about one and when we went to pay, we say lots of other options. When I asked about those he said he did not think we would like them!!! The food itself was "fine" and the breakfast was "fine" but we got the feeling they did not want us there from the server. So that made us a little sad.

Glendevin is a lovely place, the hosts are very kind and helped me with all I needed. I was travelling on public transport and Glendevin is located a bit far from Fort Willian ideal for whom is driving but anyway I did it well with Ross help. There are lovely walks to do from there and it was my present of goodbye from Scotland to do the waterfall walk in the morning of my departure, the water was cold but just perfect for me. I left Scotland with a clean body and soul washed by that waters. Thank you

Got a superior room as we were 2 adults 1 child and wanted a bit of space. Was told the cot we asked for was in another room and that we would have to move it ourselves into the room. When we got to the room it was plenty big enough and the cot was already in place. Unfortunately the room wasn't quite child ready and our little one proceeded to remove every item from plug socket or table top. So we spent the rest of the afternoon removing items and hiding them. The extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom and there wasn't a nappy bin but it was emptied daily so didn't smell too much. The breakfast included was great. A selection of cereals and hot meals was offered which we enjoyed. We also had some great meals in the bistro. Lovely location next to Neptune's staircase, fascinating to watch the boats go up the locks from our bedroom window. And great views of Ben Nevis too.

Glen Nevis YH is probably one of the best hostels I've stayed so far. It's clean and private. Their kitchen is very well equipped with ovens, stoves, microwave ovens, fridge... A very spacious place for families and groups. The lobby also serves as the common area where we found good vibes from all walks of life. On prem parking available at the back. The best thing is it's situated next to Ben Nevis's side entrance. Highly recommended.

First of all, we were upgraded to a Suite prior to arrival, which made us regret staying only for one night! The place is absolutely greatz, nicely decorated, comfy bed, great bathroom and probably the only place we stayed at in Scotland, where you did not freeze to death during night! The staff was great and easy to contact and the views are stunning. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope that one day I will come back to just have a nice break away from the city life - this place is ideal for that!

The location was great. However, there is no parking on site, which is not made clear on their website: it's in the VERY small print. So be prepared to pay for parking off site. Also there is a charge for using the wi-fi. They give 30 minutes free. Then there is a charge if you want to use it further. This is not acceptable especially from a large national hotel chain. Even small privately owned and operated B&Bs offer free wi-fi. This is why I gave one star for the facilities it won't allow me to give no stars.
