Traveling to Philippines? Find Kalibo hotels

We stayed in Boracay for 3d/2n at Arwana Hotel. And our flight going back to Manila from KBO is really early that's why we decided to have our last night at Kalibo City. And as per checking, Marzon Hotel Kalibo is the best that they can offer. What Went Well: - Obviously it's a new hotel which has modern and spacious rooms. My mom appreciates the shower head. LOL - Quiet place, I like the little greenery they have on the garden. - They have a big pool. - Nice restaurants and good sets of food to choose from. - Buffet breakfast. Although the choices isn't too many, still I was really full by the time I finished eating. Hahaha - Very close to the airport, just take a tricycle and it will only take you atleast 5 minutes to reach KBO Airport. - Close to Kalibo-Bayan too. What Went Wrong: - N/a ♥

Very nice to stay one night for my late flight schedule. Since it is a bit hard to get to Boracay around midnight, I decided to stay Kalibo one night with my family including 3 kids. Location is the best for it. It would be just within 20~30 meters far from airport just acrossing the road. Room condition was good. My room type is a familly which has one double and two single beds. Don't expect a good breakfast which has two or three type meals like american style, phillipino style. Very kind staffs.

I can only give a small insight into this hotel. We stayed here for less than six hours. We were supposed to arrive in Kalibo a little after 7 PM, but a ten-hour delay at Manila Airport caused us to arrive at the hotel around six in the morning, six hours before check-out. We just wanted a place to shower and sleep, though, so it was great that we had this place reserved. I contacted the hotel through their Facebook page to let them know our plane was delayed and I had no clue when it would depart (we were not told almost anything until just minutes before we were allowed to board, but that's an issue with the airlines and/or airport!). Within minutes, the hotel responded to my message to let me know they would hold my room for me no matter how late I arrived. In fact, the staff were so helpful it annoyed me. One member of the staff carried our bags to our room and then, at the moment I just wanted to undress and crawl into one of the gloriously soft beds (so comfy were those beds), he started setting up the TV and tried to show me how to use the remotes. I asked him to stop. We didn't need to watch TV, but thanks. As I said, the beds were super comfortable. The room was spacious, had aircon, TV, a wardrobe, and a few other things we didn't need. The only thing I didn't like about the place is it doesn't have the spray hose attached to the toilet many places in the Philippines have and that I've grown to prefer. It's wipe and toss the toilet tissue in the bin at this place. (We stayed at another place on the way back from Boracay that also had no hose, so maybe people in Kalibo don't like to use it).

I only stayed in Kalibo so I would not be rushing in the early morning from Boracay. What a great decision. The Royal Suites provided 4 star accomadations at a 2 star price. The king size bed was by far the most comfortable I ever had in the Phillipines. It located across from the police station and park with several restaurants and a couple of massage spa's in the area. Included in the room rate was a excellent breakfast for two and a van ride to the airport. I would definitely book again if I am ever back in Kalibo.

I have stayed all over Aklan; all over the Philippines, in fact. As well, I have lodged in almost every lodging facility in Kalibo itself. This is, by far, the best place to stay for your money. The staff catered to my every request with quickness and friendliness. I was treated more like a house guest than a customer. They even hand delivered medication from a local pharmacy to my door when I was too much in pain to retrieve it, NO CHARGE!!! The WiFi is very fast and constant. The A/C was perfect and the showers are hot. (or cold... Your choice!) Also, not many hotels in Kalibo can provide you with free ice upon request and the only other I have found charges money for each tiny amount. Aklan is victim to frequent power outages, however, La Esperanza has a generator system so quick you really don't even have time to notice. They are located extremely close to Kalibo International Airport and because of the close proximity to Kalibo's "Banga Crossing" you can find a ride quickly and easily ANY TIME day or night! Again, I must comment on the staff: they are so friendly, warm and welcoming that I almost felt as if I were coming home. Thank you, La Esperanza! You brought me much peace and comfort especially in a very difficult time I was having! Special thank you to Security Guard Bern, employee Gary and the owner!

Staff excellent, food extremely good and affordable. Very pleasant check-in and check-out with Grace and we will certainly come back. The bed was very comfortable but the bed posts, at the foot of the bed,get in the way of watching television and the headboard must be difficult to keep clean. We have stayed at many hotels in the Philippines but the free breakfast was the best that we have ever had and it would have been fantastic if it had all been hot. The garden is a lovely place to sit out in the evening and we enjoyed watching the frogs hopping about.

Although the hotel can use some renovation, but It's beautiful resort and can't say enough how the staff are super nice and the service just exceptional. They did whatever to make our stay comfortable. Amazing food, pool and music was nice. Not bad breakfast. But I would definitely recommend it and I will go back there if I am ever back to Kalibo. Is really good value for the money so I can say I was super happy and stunned by it.

Best reasonable luxurious option for its price range in KALIBO for travellers in short time overnight stays. The rooms are in the 3rd floor of the store of elegent luxurious furniture. They have a staff member on standby for late night checkins/outs. Citymall with SM supermarket is 120 meters on foot from the hotel with many eateries and Watsons. Kalibo market and 4 other drugstores are 130 meters away. This is my go-to option whenever I am stuck in Kalibo overnight.

Staff are very accommodating. For a small price you get an overnight stay, breakfast for two, wifi in your air conditioned room plus cable tv. Room was okay. It looks newly renovated. We got a room on the top floor which had a deck overlooking the area. Facilties are okay. For the restroom, the water had a rusty smell to it byt that was fine with us. You can walk to the public market or take a tricycle for 8 Pesos/pax. Just a quick ride away from Mcdo, banks and convenience stores. Breakfast is not that grand, just your basic silog meal. It's good enough considering we only paid PH598 for the night. While having breakfast, Marlon was very kind and told us tips in travelling in Kalibo and Bora. You can take a tricycle to City Mall for 8 Pesos if you're going to Boracay. They have vans travelling to Caticlan. You'll have to wait for them to fill the van with passengers. We got lucky. They transferred us to another van that was picking up someone in Caticlan so we were the only passengers. The van just picked up other passengers along the way.

We needed a place to sleep before heading out to Boracay the next morning. Our flight was delayed and we arrived around 1:30 am but they still allowed us to stay. Location is good, 5 to 10 minutes drive from Kalibo airport and just outside the property is the Van terminal to Caticlan port. The staff are really nice, they even walked us to the van terminal which is just outside their property. The room was nice. We rented their fanroom for only 300 pesos. Over all it was a good and decent place to stay. We will go back if ever we needed a place to stay in Kalibo.

Coming from Caticlan/Boracay, we stayed for one night to await our flight out of Kalibo. We stayed in a standard room with a double bed. The room was relatively small, but decent and the bare necessities were provided. WiFi access is available in all rooms with relatively fast download speeds (based on Philippine standards). The quality of the food they serve is rather subpar with regards to the price. You will do better eating out. The hotel is located near the center of the town (which is also rather small); most establishments (banks, mall, restaurants, wet market) are within a 1-kilometer radius. The Kalibo airport is about 2 km away (10 mins by tricycle-cab). The staff was very welcoming and helpful in assisting guests.

Me and a girlfriend stayed a nite before catching a bus to Caticlan enroute Boracay. As it was our first trip to Philippines, we weren't sure of logistics on where to get to catch a bus to Caticlan. The head staff (who's possibly the boss) was extremely helpful. She walked us to the bus stand, which is a stone-throw from the hotel and helped us get a van to Caticlan. As Kalibo Hotel does not serve food, she guided us to Lorraine's Tapsi, a small garden restaurant pub just across the street from the hotel to order our breakfast. Lorraine's Tapsi is a must-try for it serves very nice and cheap local dishes and beers. A short walk just down the road from Lorraine's Tapsi is a petrol station with a mini mart (like 7-eleven) that sells cheap drinking water and other dry food. Do note that Kalibo Hotel does not provide drinking water, so you can either buy it from the hotel or take a 7-mins walk to the mini mart to buy your water at a slightly cheaper price. All other basic amenities are provided. Overall it was a pleasant stay and if I were to return to Kalibo, I'd stay at Kalibo Hotel again as it's really convenient to get around and it's centrally located at the small sleepy town of Kalibo.

1. Staff are nice and accommodating 2. True value for money 3. Near to a MUST SEE in Kalibo such as Bakhawan Ecopark, Tighayon Hills, Ostrich Farm, Vibrant Kalibo etc 4. I just rated the location as 4 because we had a hard time traveling from one province (such as antique) to another because of the limited transpo option (Bus only with limited travel schedule time) 5. All in ALL DREAMLAND is a very relaxing, spacious place to stay in Kalibo.... Two THUMBS UP!

fantastic friendly staff , i travelled alone and the staff were fantastic and showed me around kalibo . the staff kept me active and helped me anyway there can . i will defo be stayin here again , the whole hotel and rooms were clean and modern . the reception staff and hotel manager were awesome and i cant praise them enough , thankyou all at metro ,especially conrad and jeh ann .

We stayed at RB Lodge overnight because of our late arrival from Manila to Kalibo. The hotel was a 15-20 min away from Kalibo airport via tricycle. It is located at the city proper so it was accessible to some restaurants and establishments. We arrived at about 1 am at the hotel and the security guard was quite accommodating. We availed their twin fan room and overall it was okay. There was a common CR for men and women. It was quite clean. I recommend that they add another fan (at least 2 per room) because it is quite hot in the summer. There is also a queue of vans that offer transfer from Kalibo to Caticlan Jetty Port so there is less hassle in looking for transfers. Overall, it was good for an overnight stay at Kalibo before you go to Boracay. The price is also acceptable but I would choose a cheaper place next time, especially if it is just for an overnight stay.

i had to book a hotel for a 1 night rest before going to boracay but ended up staying 2 nights. boracay hotels were fully booked but the owner went out of his way to find a hotel in boracay for us. usually i have no trouble finding a place to stay but boracay hotels were fully booked or i have to pay $200-500 per night. mike pulled through and found a good budget hotel for us in boracay. thanks again mike. surburbia garden hotel looks fairly new and well kept. the room is large w new linen, bed and towels. free wifi, air conditioner and hot shower. great services and outside eatery area. you will pay 3-4 times as much in boracay to stay at a place like surbubia garden hotel. overall i would stay again if im going to kalibo.

I could not make it to the hotel due to Typhoon on 10 Nov 2013 the airport was still closed. But my spouse traveled stayed there. Mr. Garcia was very helpful and even told my spouse that due to no electric in the city because the typhoon he was would to take her to any hotel that had a generator and pay for her room their. She elected to stay there where she was treaded very well. On the return trip back to Kalibo on the 16 there was still no power to the city. Once again Mr. Garcia drover us around to find accommodations. I was really surprised of his hospitality. I will also stay there now. It a small hotel but he respects his customers and will do what ever need to help the traveler. Great job Mr. Garcia.

Services is fairly basic. I booked via Agoda the night before and the staff almost did not honor my booking. He said did not receive the faxed copy from their head office regarding that booking. I insisted and asked him to call his boss. After 30 minutes, I was accommodated. Cleanliness is fine. I booked for a couple room so I was expecting for a queen bed but I got a pull-out. Not very disappointing though.

we stayed in Kalibo overnight on the way to Boracay as our flight arrived at almost midnight. Its a 15 minutes tricycle ride from the airport (150php chartered). To make sure I called the hotel to inform of the late hour of our arrival and they were expecting us. I tried to contact them by email and sms weeks before, but no reaction, so the day before arriving I just called the indicated number. the room is very simple but clean and airconditionned. there is not much to say about it as we only stayed there to crash and leave the next morning. The staff was nice and friendly, seems to be a family business.

It's an old hotel with no elevator and 3 floors. It is clean, but it still looks old. The staff was very helpful, and the room was large. The bed sheets were clean and pillows fine. I liked this better than the tiny room I paid twice as much for down the street. I would stay here again. It is good for about a two day stay, as it does not have a modern tv and our son is involved in this equation. I am finding more and more that the cheaper old places are a better value than the new looking little rooms you can not walk around in. The wifi was a problem til the man on night shift unraveled the mystery code. They need to replace it with pieces of paper with the code on and not the old ratty taped message on the desk. The door knob and lock needed replacement on our room. This place is bug free and no mosquitos. It may be old, but it beat the expensive newer place.
