The Plough at Lupton is located 15 mins from the M6 and could be viewed as an option for travellers wishing to stay overnight on a long drive between the North and South of the UK. It is also a good location to explore Cumbria and the 'pot country' (caves) further to the east (Ingleton). The pub is located on the roadside and as such, traffic noise may be a problem during the peak summer months, however this may only be a problem if you are in the road facing rooms. The rooms are large and spacious and the en-suite itself a large room converted into a bathroom. Furnishings are contemporary and fit the surroundings. Downstairs there is a large bar and separate restaurant. The food was excellent and service quick and efficient. Breakfast was served in the bar area and the choices were different and when cooked, hot and tasty. Staff were friendly and obliging. It's not the cheapest accommodation around the area, but offers something slightly different to the traveller.
