Traveling to Japan? Find Niigata hotels

I have stayed here before as it is just opposite Niigata train station. It is a step up from the usual business hotel and very good value for the price. As it was a holiday the next day and I guess nobody wants to stay in Niigata on a holiday, the price was only about 3800 yen per night. I had a flight the next morning and so chose it again, mainly because of the location and price. If you are sightseeing in Niigata it is a bit far from the downtown area, about 20 minutes by foot. However, go to the Media Ship building, about ten minutes by foot for their free viewing room on the 20th floor, which is amazing by night.

Our group stayed in a twin and a room with double bed during our 3 night stay in Niigata. The hotel is on top of the convention centre and the rooms have either a great view of the Japan Sea or Niigata City. It's about 20 min walk from JR Niigata station and it was a pleasant walk. If you have luggage, you can take the hotel shuttle bus which is 3 min walk from the station. We took a cab which costs us less than 1000 yen. The hotel is within walking distance of Pier Bandai and there's a stop of the city sightseeing loop bus just in front of the building. room size is large in terms of Japanese hotel and it's light & airy. It also provides Japanese style pajama which are super comfy. Front desk staff is courteous and welcoming and can speak some English. Breakfast buffet spread is decent with a lot of local produce used. this is not your hotel if you want a convenient store located 2 min away. But if you like a nice view and want to enjoy true Japanese hospitality, this is your hotel.

The hotel is connected to the Niigata Train Station so it could not have been more convenient. The staff was very polite and efficient. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is outstanding with offerings of a wide selection of Japanese dishes as well as typical Western fares. We bought a day pass for the Niigata Loop Bus which circled around the city passing all the major attractions. The major shopping areas was about a half hour walk. The side streets are very interesting and made the walk seem very short,

Stayed in the hotel for four nights. The bed was large enough for couple, unlike most other Japanese business class hotels, and comfortable. Staff has basic english skills so you can manage. Room service was excellent and they keep everything very clean. The only problem is the distance to the Niigata station. If you have your own vehicle then its fine. There are buses to the Niigata station and only 100 m to the bus stop from the hotel. It takes around 20 min to get to the station. Buses are not frequent. Only one bus per hour. If you miss that you have to wait another one hour or so to get the other bus. Other than that our stay was really nice.

Had a very pleasant night here. Even though I was booked into a smoking room I really couldn't tell that it had been smoked in, so they must do a good job of cleaning it. The location of this hotel is a little bit out of the way - definitely take a cab if you arrive at Niigata station as the walk is quite long. There isn't too much to do right in the area of the hotel but within a very short cab ride or a reasonable walk you can be in central Niigata or at Bandai, the main shopping center. Bandai is a nice place for modern shopping. The staff here were very nice and helpful even though their english was limited. The breakfast is absolutely wonderful and well worth the price.

This felt more like accomodation for a one bedroom flat than a hotel. There was even a stove in the room! Inside the building there is an open rooftop which is the strangest hotel atmosphere I have experienced in Japan. So it was a bit quirky but not in a bad way. All in all everything about the room and staff was very nice and helpful for the price. I would definietly reccomend this hotel for a single traveller looking for a cheap few nights near Niigata city centre. I didn't eat at the hotel so don't know how good that was, the menus looked OK but I was just out all day.

Located not far from the Southern Gate of Niigata Station. Although the single room is very small, the facilities, staff, amenities are all THUMBS UP!! The relaxation room at 2nd floor has a series of Japanese manga. There are also 2 massage sofa and free flow of coffee. At the same floor too, there is the Bath Place (Daiyoku jyo). The Bath Place is accessible by female and male guests are different time of the week. For instance, on weekends, 4-9 pm is designated for female, 9.30pm-1am is for male guests, and accessible again for female guests from 6-9am. Its then closed for cleaning. On weekdays, 4-9pm for female guests, 9.30pm-1am & 6-9am for male guests. The cleaners are extremely polite as well. I waited at the 2nd floor relaxation floor for the room to be cleaned. When the room was done, the cleaner came to the 2nd floor and kindly, politely informed me "Sorry to keep me waiting. My room is ready". Thank you so much!

We needed a relatively cheap hotel as we were catching the ferry from Niigata to Tomokamai in the morning. It was centrally located and provided parking for 800 yen at the back of the hotel. The front desk staff did a fantastic job of pointing out some close by attractions and a restaurant area near by. The rooms were small but neat and tidy. The bed was small, but we understood this when booking the room. Breakfast was an added bonus!

extremely well positioned next to the Niigata Train Station. that for me is a plus although theres really nothing much to do in the neighbourhood value for money when measured it as a japanese hotel. HOWEVER, Was booked into a smoking room.( by my request). just that there is only heater in the room with no AC. asked the front desk and they did apologize saying its autumn and centrally controlled. accepted their explanation. just thought i would highlight that. simple solution is to open the window slightly to allow the cool air to come in.

the hotel sunroute niigata was easy enough to find and the walk from the station was a short one. great staff behind the front desk greeted me and there really was nothing to complain about the room. an extra plus for the free coffee in the lobby! as i didn't have a computer with me, it was good to be able to use two machines in the lobby. had a comfortable stay in this hotel.

The facilities are excellent and the vastness of the ground floor is amazing; many places for one to sit and relax. Love the Onsen. The buffett breakfast has many types of food and the Omakase dinner was delicious and plenty to eat. There is an adjacent Golf driving range and paddy field for one to wonder around the open space. The staff does not speak English; two staff managed to converse a little with broken English but it helped. We used Translation App to help us in communication. They even placed a small Singapore flag with a Japanese's at the reception to show the friendship between our two country! You need a car to get around the area We managed to catch the day and night views of the autumn colour at Yahiko Park. The park is very picturous .

The service here was amazing, with staff very pleased to help. Onset was clean and refreshing. However we booked non smoking room- only to find we were put on a smoking floor- which meant strong odor as soon as we entered floor and our room even more so. Staff were unable to relocate us, and being in a less busy area- alternative rooms was not possible. This was a small thing, but impacted our family’s stay greatly.

this hotel is somewhat far from the main centre of niigata and also the station area. it is next to the main river on the east of town, a bus ride or taxi from the main areas. however the hotel is clean and efficient, with friendly staff. rooms are well equipped and offer good value for money. the restaurant is somewhat basic, but the plus point is definitely the small but relaxing built-in spa area with a hot spring style bath.

Received a warm welcome on arrival but that was the end of happy. We were asked about our preference for a smoking or non smoking room at check-in. Of course we said we wanted the non-smoking none of us smoke. However, the room we ended up in had no view of the river. We paid AU$175 for one night in a hotel quite a distance from Niigata Station yet we had a window full of grey buildings. Inside the hotel the vending machines were vastly overpriced so we were forced to traipse down to the nearby Lawson for any in room snacks. Inside the hotel room the facilities were no better than a budget hotel. Yes this was the standard twin, but for the price and the location . . . below my expectation. Had the usual in room amenities, internet, t.v., kettle. Despite what the description says, I assure you the hotel is not 5 minutes from Niigata Station, not by foot anyway. Perhaps they meant by bus. Disappointed!
