Parking is free, arrive early if you have a car. Absolutely beautiful hostel. I had a bay view from my bed. - the water pressure on all the taps are really high. I can laugh about it now but, the water from the shower created a wind current that blew my clothes off of the hook and into the water on the floor of the shower.

No where near clean. Toilet and bath is a mess, there was only 2 out of 6 bath available when Im there. Others are on maintenance.

I was in Oban for a couple of nights to try and get the feel of the countryside in the Highlands. Royal hotel is very aptly situated if you are planning to travel by bus. Happy enough with my 2 night stay at the Strathnaver in Oban. I had room 7 with shared bathroom facilities (Never had to queue though as it's only shared with one other room). You can hear other people through the walls, But i took earplugs & slept well in the comfy bed - even though i'm a light sleeper at times. Plenty of choice for breakfast, but never saw any yogh...

Very friendly and attentive, breakfast was very good and very plentiful. Room was comfortable and quiet with excellent facilities.

The location and views make it worth the pain on the hills and the stairs associated with this place. The owners were very engaging and had a lot of local knowledge.

We really enjoyed our stay, on arrival the staff were helpful and friendly, this continued throughout the stay. Pros - best location, awesome view if you have harbor view, good food selection, very clean, and TV has lots of selections. Staff is diligent and helpful. Cons-breakfast typically extra cost but good portion size, must not be allergic to perfumes or scents (heavily scented place), bed is difficult to sleep on, and internet very intermittent in room.

check in was only at 4, quite late from our experience. Rooms haven't been updated since about the 70s, which is kinda quirky and cool, but not when you are paying close to 100 pounds. Good location on front, very limited parking for the hotel, but not far from free out of season car park. Hot tub was not available and sounded like this might be the case for a while.

Quiet location within easy walking distance to the ferry or train, or downtown Oban. Comfortable, clean room that was larger than we expected. Bathroom clean with toiletries provided. Friendly host- we arrived before check-in but were warmly welcomed and admitted to our room Our group comprised one mature adult and one young adult. No problems with WiFi.

Great place to stay and very close to shops and restaurants.

Impressive building both inside and out. Set menu dinner with choice of 3 main courses. Good breakfast. Very heavy bulky dining room chairs, not easy for the elderly to move. Avoid bedrooms over the bar area if you want to sleep before midnight. Singer every night in bar . Rooms at the front have beautiful view of Oban bay.

Three of us stopped in at the guest house on our way to Skye. Staff were incredibly friendly and gave us a couple of recommendations for dinner. The room was very clean, and well presented. Wifi was great too. Will return if we come back to Oban.

Reception staff very surly and not welcoming . Front of house is the first and last impression . Breakfast poor. Although good selection of cold and cooked ,the hog food was dry and had been sitting for a while I guess . Coffee was cold but tea was hot . Good sized room for the king deluxe, free parking for about 3 cars, but there are only 3 rooms. Friendly owner.

All hotels in town were fully booked. Although room was not ensuite, toilet was well maintained and beds were comfy.

On a recent tour of Scotland this was the most expensive place we stayed in for a poky room with a shared bathroom and barely enough space for two suitcases. We enjoyed our stay as this was different to what we have been used to. The staff are friendly and the room was comfortable as well. The breakfast was a wonderful addition to our stay.

Lovely little boutique hotel in Oban with excellent Scottish hospitality

Notre chambre avec vue sur la mer était très bien située. La vue était superbe et les propriétaires étaient à l'écoute. Le déjeuner était excellent. Le seul point négatif est le tarif légèrement élevé mais la vue est superbe.

Our room was very spacious with a lovely view over Oban Bay. Plenty of breakfast choice. Mark, the owner, was extremely helpful and went the extra mile. Highly recommend.

Location the best. Beautiful views from our bedroom. Huge room and bathroom. Bed was so comfortable. We had a room downstairs which had water views. Staff were so friendly and so helpful. Really a fantastic stay in every respect. Highly recommend to everyone.
