Traveling to India? Find Puri hotels

I stayed with my parents, wife and a 4year old kid. Found the Hotel very Good. Would definitely recommend this hotel to people staying with family. The staff is very polite and cooperative. Responds quickly to the Requests. Rooms are spacious and good. We stayed on the 4th floor and could view the Bay of Bengal from the Balcony. Food is good. We had included the Morning Breakfast while booking and found the food variety and quality good. The Swimming Pool is good and has a separated Low hieght Section for small kids. My 4 year old kid was very happy and comfortable to swim in it. Major Advantage is that the Checkout time is 10 A.M. whhich they relax a bith as compared to other hotels in puri which have 7 A.M. Location is just 500meters from the beach and is 3-4 mins drive. Can take the Twin Cycle which is complementary to the Beach. This was my first twin cycle ride and i enjoyed it alot. The market is nearby and at walking distance you can get good showrooms.

We were travelling with small children and stayed at Heritage for two nights. It is an awesome property, quite likely the best in entire Puri. The beach was at a stone-throw, the city centre and temples were within 10-min drive. The hotel was well maintained and had huge rooms. The view from our room was awesome as well. The staff was very helpful. The buffet was well laid and more importantly not repetitive.

We had booked their so called "Deluxe " room after visiting their website. It was a profound disappointment.. more like a room in a non-descript lodge and not worth even half of the tariff. To make matters worse, the overall ambience of the building where this was located was like a construction site. We made our sense of being taken for a ride quite clear to the front office manager. I give him full marks for his responsiveness. The next day we were allotted a villa which was every bit as good as the website showed and the ambience was also lovely. We did feel that we got our money's worth,after paying the extra charges. So all in all a mixed experience. The staff was very helpful and warm.The restaurant food quality was good , though the menu is limited. The private beach is not at the resort's doorstep as you are led to believe, but about 2.5 km away, but they transport you there,and it is indeed a pristine beach in the middle of a wildlife sanctuary, with Casurina trees as the backdrop. A word of caution.. when you book make sure you do not get misled about the type of room,and the difference in tariff is ridiculously small,between their so called "rooms" and cottages though the difference in facilities and ambience is huge.

i got an exellent rate from agoda.com (half off),so the quality of the hotel and it's amenities were beyond my expectations! it's really a good value for the price you pay. the last 1 km of the road to the hotel is in a pretty bad shape and due to this taxis charge a lot of money for the 7km ride from/to the station (rs.300 - non-ac amby) but due to this isolated location, the beach is almost empty - giving you a private beach feel. the rooms are nice with wooden floors, two huge king beds with plush mattresses. the huge glass windows offer a ocean view beyond the pool and nicely landscaped gardens. the bathroom is very nice too - dry type with a large glass partition for the shower area. there's even a glass window (with a retractible blind) between the shower area and the room ! for persons who want to enjoy ocean views even when in the shower i guess ! there is a rickety looking bridge over a shallow lagoon leading upto the beach, where a river meets the ocean. the bridge is much more stable than it looks. the hotel has a free shuttle service every evening to swargadwar area of puri - you will find lot of shopping / dining options there - you can also book sightseeing trips there. however, there was a slight confusion at the hotel reception whether agoda customers who have booked at half rate can avail the free shuttle - especially because we were the only ones who showed up requesting for this service. in the end they did provide us the free drop off and pick up from swargadwar. the complementary breakfast served from 8am-10am is quite nice with lot of options, good variety menu changed daily - they even served cooked to order omlettes and dosas. service was quite nice - staff was friendly and working with a smile. checkout time is quite early - at 8am - but you can keep your luggage in the reception and enjoy the breakfast before heading out.

Excellent hotel. Been to puri several time. This is probably the best hotel in Puri we have stayed in. Only minus point is the restaurant is bit on the expensive side. Couple of points which the hotel management can consider: first of all, the buffet breakfast could have been better. Only nonveg item in breakfast was egg. With a hotel of this standard, I was expecting Bacon, ham, sausages etc for breakfast. Secondly, the toiletries should include a shaving kit and toothbrush and paste considering the room rent

The hotel is situated near to Jagannath Temple, Rick ride costs 80Rs from Hotel to the temple. Even though the hotel is not on the beach but it takes just 2 mins ride on battery operated Rick provided by the hotel. What more, Hotel also has a kinda Shack on the beach where you can have tea and cookies. The best part of the hotel is their staff. They are very courteous and helpful. All has smiling face and ready to help. My daughter had a small accident and immediately 4 staff were in our room for helping out. Due to blessing of Lord Jagannath the incident was minor. The hotel also has a nice restaurant, they also serve dishes which are not there in the menu on request.

Rooms in this resort are bigger then most hotels in Puri, Located approximately 10 km from Jagannath temple, this resort is near shore of Bay of Bengal. This resort was damaged in recent fani cyclone however many rooms are now functional and are in good condition balance rooms too shall be ready by peak tourist season. Staff in resort is cordial and professional and will take care of your need to possible best, food spread in breakfast and dinner was limited but tasty, here I feel that improvement is possible. A small shop for beach wear and swim wear inside premises will be a good addition. Shuttle services to Jagannath temple are expensive when compared to local auto which are available outside resort

The hotel’s location is not in one of the most touristy places in Puri, it’s very close to the station. You have sea view and can walk to the beach, but being near to a sewer line the sea is not the cleanest here. If you plan for a long walk on the beach towards your right, you will have to cross the sewer. Otherwise, the staff are exceptionally helpful and are always there to attend you with a smile. The restaurant makes tasty Chinese and North Indian dishes, but when it comes to Bengali dishes, the taste is very average. I was very happy with the way the room is maintained, every piece of equipment is functional with lots of sockets. The WiFi though is only limited to the lobby, and you barely get a mobile 4G signal in your room!

While I would rate the hotel 10 on 10, there is a small drawback where I feel the Hotel management can take a small step. Though the authorities have clearly mentioned the several Dos and Don't s for the residents with regard to use of the swimming pool, it was disgusting to see many customers plunging into the pool with their Jockeys, Salwar Kameez, Jeans-T Shirts and various other modes of attire. Obviously no one from the hotel have pointed the pool rules to these inconsiderate and loud customers who were most of the time creating a ruckus in the pool in the name of swimming and having fun. The sight was not only disgusting but the decibel level was also extremely annoying and disturbing. I sincerely hope the hotel management views this aspect seriously. We are going to travel to Puri soon and it is a promise that we will put up there again. Thanks a lot - staff for all that you have done for us.

Charges paid for 2 days were almost 7700 Swimming Pool - Water was not clean AC was not working for 1st night and when complained no one was bothered as it was a daily routine for them. The only good thing is sea view however, same is with 100's of hotel in Puri. Have forgot few clothes when changed the room due to non functioning of AC however, It was like I forgot then no reporting module is from House keeping. I lost those clothes came to my mind after 2 days but I have left the place and cannot go to hotel back for clothes at least. They have a very good sea view from a passage outside restaurant where they have table and chair as well however, they will not allow you to have food there, which I found strange.

I went to Puri jaganath temple and stayed in Hotel Jeevan Sandhya for 2 days. It Just opposite to beach. It was around 5 km away from main beach. So not crowded. Best place to walk around night time and early morning. The Manager Sadasivam was very helpful. He arranged cab for Konark trip. He also asked his staff to drop through his scooter when I went to Bengali market. Good view of sea from room. only -ve is restaurant staff not responding properly when we ordered food. Over all value for money and good location to take rest.

Horrible experience. Useless hotel. Very bad location (far from the city centre). Front desk staff behaviour is very rude and impolite. Especially Mr Kashi Nath Mohanty and Mr Ajay Patra behaved badly with us. Inspite of confirmation from Agoda, they told us that our booking is not valid and that we may have to pay extra money. Check out time of 8 AM is not acceptable. I would never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.

We love Mahodadhi Palace, ideal location, easy to get around, food and staff were excellent, the pool is lovely, but for western travellers (which probably are few and far between) no sun loungers, surely a few of these would be used, as people like to relax even if not sunbathing. Guides and taxis arranged for us no problem. If you book on Agoda, please be aware that the room you book, is not necessarily the room you get, so double check and screen shot, we were really disappointed and thought we had booked one of the actual hotel rooms, we were given a wooden Villa, which was very nice, but not what we had planned for my husbands birthday. The photos do not match the room description, all in all a lovely hotel and would stay again. Oh, have scored one less for facilities, as no wifi outside reception.

So they cremate bodies directly across the street from this hotel all day and night. Honestly, I found the view from the room absolutely fascinating. It is a strange thing to view mourning and death like that from your hotel window. However, everything we owned smelled like burnt human flesh once we left, but the smell washed out of our clothing pretty easily. The hotel is pretty gross looking, but the room is not bad. The internet even works pretty good (if you ask them to turn it on). The staff were very pleasant and the price for the room was great. If you are going to Puri, you probably want your senses to be under attack, that's why you're going, right? Well this block is surely not the cleanest in Puri, but if you are looking for a unique, cheap and mildly uncomfortable stay in this town, I recommend this place. NOT for the squeamish, but rewarding if you can hack it. My stay at this hotel will surely be one of the most memorable parts of my trip to India.

Larica hotel is located across the sea beach on new marine drive road. It is the only good thing about this hotel. We checked in our rooms at around 1130 hrs. the rooms were stinky and one could not have feeling other than pouring out. The rooms were not clean, stains on walls and were full of mosquitoes. Next day around 0730 hrs we left for Puri Temple in front of hotel staff. Once back at 1130 Hrs, they asked to pay extra money for the stay as we were told that check out time was 0700 hrs. On being asked why they didn't tell the same thing when we checked in hotel the previous night and also when we were leaving for temple, they told that it was as per our booking. the staff were most disrespectful and wanted us to pay the amount for one more day after booking the hotel. After a lot of conversation, finally they accepted an amount of Rs 3000, without receipt. To cut the story short, it was a unforgettable experience, which should have been avoided.

Better to stay away from horriable experiences, Front office staff very rude, Our booking was at 02 Super Deluxe room but they have provided us deluxe room, each & every small things they will ask you to contact with agoda.com as the booking made through agoda.com. Very very rude & unprofessional staffs. Only location is good but you can find other options with better hospitalities in the same area. We are very much disappointed with the hotel & service, We contacted agoda & launched our complain instead of Super Deluxe room we got Deluxe room & they refund us the difference of amount.

I stayed from 21st October 2019 to 24th October 2019. Location wise , I would say excellent. By location, what I meant, it is just 2-3 minutes walk from Sree Chaitanya statue near Swargadwar yet away from the extreme noisy and crowded market. From station when you take the marine drive road, first comes Puri hotel, then Victoria Club and then Golden Tree. I took the Premium room which has side sea facing balcony which gives you a spectacular sea view right from your balcony as well as from your bed. Our room was on 3rd floor. But view from the lower floors would definitely be obstructed by an old hotel structure . Food quality and taste is quite good. Room service, housekeeping and behavior of staffs are superb. Rain water was leaking into the room from the balcony glass and house keeping cleared that even 4 times a day. But lift service was unavailable for completely 2 days and it was difficult to climb 3 floors several times a day. I should have got some discount for this.

I was in this hotel for 3 nights (from 26th Sep’14) at Regular AC Room (Ground Floor). At first, please note that this hotel is not at the main/popular location of Puri (e.g. Swargadwar Road) and thus no noise will bother you. Those who are not fascinated of deluxe room with super quality of interior and want to have pleasant stay with decent AC room can go for this. Please remember, you would be mostly roaming outside there, and a pleasant stay is what you want when you come back to your room. I believe this hotel is good enough to help you with this. Staffs were well behaved. Same has been reported by other visitors also (though, it varies person to person). Being a Bengali, I liked the food at the restaurant associated to this hotel. Rather I loved it!! Sometimes it could be little spicy for some people. If anyone is purely vegetarian (even no onion, garlic), FYI there is a pure-veg restaurant adjacent to it. You can go and enjoy the veg food paying INR 170 (approx. USD 3) per plate. There is a beach nearby (around 5 min by walk) and visible from the hotel terrace. You can enjoy that also. In case you want to go to main area (Golden Beach at Swargadwar Road, Sri Jagannatha Temple), you need to spend around INR 160 (approx. USD 2.5-3) for a to and fro auto-rickshaw ride. You can negotiate a little. If you want me to rate this hotel I can’t do so as a whole. I would rate (out of 5) as, Location – 3 [distance from main location matters], Facility – 3 [not super class as I mentioned before], Food – 4.5 [I loved it!! individual choice], Cost of Food – 3 [not very cost effective some time, $ visitors may have different views].

Agoda mentioned checkin checkout 12- 12 on the website but the hotel refused saying we are not concerned what Agoda has mentioned on the site as our timings are morning 8 to next morning 7.....then who is responsible??? I booked the hotel just because the timing suited as we reached at 6 in evening and wanted checkout at 12 noon the day next.. else hotel is pathetic...no cleanliness... cobwebs..dirty rug and carpet... toilet pot was shaking...rooms smelt because of seepage and moisture.... there was a spider crawling on the bed too... not worth the money spent.... manager was a hopeless.. was only interested in talking himself like a lecturer.......not willing to assist... mine was an isolated case where I was misled because of the information on the website..... he could have worked around it and even if he was unable to extent the checkout time , there is a way of dealing with a customer.... he definitely needs to learn hospitality lessons if he wishes to continue in hotel industry...only the lower staff was cordial... way better than the manager...Berries group needs to look into the condition of the puri hotel and needs to equip it with better and impressive management that can look into the maintenance of rooms and proper customer dealing.

Pros: Excellent location, courteous staff, very prompt service, tasty foods Cons: Tiny rooms, poor quality bathrooms (shabby, dirty marks everywhere, leakage in almost all taps, salty water) ; overpriced foods (e.g. 1 egg roll costs me Rs. 100, charged Rs. 40 for 4 pieces of papads). Moreover, I would like to share one bitter incident which really hurt us. We arrived there around 5:00 AM on 7th of October. We have 2 senior citizens and 2 children ( 1 year and 6.5 years old) with us. The scheduled check-in time was 8:00 AM. Even if there were some vacant rooms, the hotel management kept us waiting for more than 2:30 hours for a room in spite of repeated requests. This was quite embarrassing experience for us as they could have easily made some arrangements for one temporary room for us.

Hotel Padma makes a good base from which to visit Konark's Sun Temple; in fact we hired an autorickshaw for 1/2 day. It is near the railway station in Puri so arrival is convenient and, if the visitor is going to Bhubaneswar afterwards, leaving by train is easily arranged from there as well (and tickets can be purchased online). Our room was very nice, and food was good in the diningroom and by room service. Staff is not particularly friendly and they don't speak much English, but they are able to help make arrangements. Pretty good value.
