The Original Rosslyn Hotel did not in reality come close to the pictorial representations on the website. The Hotel was was run down, and our room very basic with a very small bed. The smell of cooking permeated the hotel. it was not a boutique hotel as described and pictured. There was no outdoor grassed sitting area - just a Tarmac beer garden. While the staff were very helpful it was hard to find them - when we arrived in Sunday afternoon the pub was in full swing, and it appeared all available staff were involved in that part of the hotel, they were not really available for staying guests. I had to get one of the chefs to obtain towels for our room. As a place for an overnight stay it was OK, but was overpriced and not good value for money, particularly when compared to some of the magnificent B&B we have stayed in at less cost during our current trip.
