This was the best room i stayed over my 5 days X'mas trip. This hotel is a brand new hotel and just relocated to city centre. Easy walking distance to local restaurants and Lake Rotorua.I stayed in the basic room type but the room was fantastic. Have got everything we need: comfotable bed, TV with heaps of free movie selections, iphone dock,brand new stove and even we have nice mountain views from the top of the floor. Highly recommend to all the tourists/business travellers visiting Rotorua!

Princes Gate hotel us ideally situated next to the Government Gardens in Rotorua. We booked the cheapest double on offer and whilstvthe room was small, the size is mentioned on the website, so it is what we expected. The shower room appeared to have been newly refurbished and was very nice. We were warned not to open the bedroom windows at night because of insects so we got extremely hot overnight (the room did not have air conditioning) and it may have been that or the soft mattress, but I didn't get a good nights sleep! We were told that there are plans to install air conditioning. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent. I had the salmon and a chocolate mille feuille and my husband had pork. There is a reasonable wine list. The staff are very helpful and well organised. The hotel communal areas are in the process of being redecorated with new wallpaper and carpets, when the bedroom we were in has air conditioning, I think it will fe worth its 4 stars

I stayed in a family of four, a couple aged 9 and 14. I came to Rotorua by car from Auckland Airport.It was exciting for couples in NZ after 23 years. 8 / 5-7 Stayed 3 days and 2 nights.The first floor was a living room, the second floor was a two-room bedroom, bath and toilet. I was worried about cold because it was NZ in winter, but the heaters were also very comfortable in each room. The kitchen utensils were perfect and I enjoyed cooking every day. There is a hot pool on site. Pool towels can be rented at the reception. There are games and DVDs available at the reception. The receptionist will also tell you kindly. Although it is a bit away from the city of Rotorua, you can spend it without any problems if you have a car. There was a river in the site and there were swings so the kids were happy. I also want to use it when I go to Rotorua. thank you for helping me.

This is definitely the best hostel for backpacker in Rotorua. Initially, I planned to stay for only 2 nights, but then I have extended my stay because it was really good. I owned a 6 persons dorm bed room, with attached bathroom. The staffs are friendly, the room is clean and cozy and they even have free Hot Pool. The price is even cheaper than YHA. I'd strongly recommend to any backpacker who want to stay in Rotorua.

My friend and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Cleveland Motel for 3 nights at the end of January. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we wanted for a short self catered stay. Marilyn was looking after things while the owners were away and she was a joy to deal with. She helped us organise some day trips going out of her way to come to the apartment, phone in hand, so we could talk to the tour operators. One morning we were sitting on the verandah waiting for a shuttle driver who was late and she phoned them for us without being asked..it turned out they were lost ! She also was very concerned when I mentioned that there were people using the pool at midnight one night (my room was next to the pool which closes at 10pm)and stayed up the following night to make sure it didn't happen again. The motel was a 10 - 15 minute walk from Eat St in Rotorua and the rest of town so was very handy as we didn't have a car. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I would use the hotel again.

We have stayed in this resort during one of the weekends in October 2016. Our booking was absolutely last minute - as we really didn't plan to stay overnight in Rotorua, but it was getting late and we decided to book a place. So booking was done literally 2-3 hours before we came to check-in & gladly we had no problems with that. The rooms price was about $160 (deluxe studio). The room itself was fairly big and reasonably modern. I would say that the shower was spacious as well, but no bathtub. There were chairs outside of the rooms - sort of like a balcony deck, some of the guests were smoking there, and the smell actually sipped into the room a little. That wasn't that great, but you can live with it. Would be better to have a separate dedicated area for smokers though. The real plus in the hotel for me was hot bathtub and hot mineral pool as well as cold pool as part of the facilities. And of course a central location. We also ordered room service which came quite fast, the presentation of food was great and beef main course was really nice. I wasn't impressed with prawn and scallop started. Overall I would rate this resort 5.5-6 out of 10. But it's definitely so much better than Grand Rotorua hotel.

In a word, it was unbeatable... I have been to almost 50 countries and countless hotels, and this was one of the most pleasant. It was very clean and there were pools available. The owners were very accommodating and friendly... they even gave us a welcome gift of fresh milk to drink which was outstanding. The breakfast is available for a separate fee, but is home-cooked and also terrific. The room was spotless and included some appliances, so it was great -- just what we needed. The toilets were also very spacious. Overall, if I am ever back in NZ, I will go back to this hotel in Rotorua. It couldn't be otherwise!

We loved our time staying at the Hamurana Lodge. The highlight was the wonderful and helpful staff. In particular, Emir (sorry if I misspelled your name) and Michelle were awesome. The grounds are beautiful and lush. The Lodge is located a bit out of Rotorua but it wasn't an issue because we had a car to get around. I'd recommend staying here to anyone looking for a countryside get away near Rotorua.

We were very much impressed by the friendliness of the owner couple. Our check in was quick and we could even check in earlier than the usual time, which was great. The room was comfortable and clean. The host was happy to give us info. about what to visit in Rotorua and quick in helping us to book a tour to Mitai Maori Village, which is highly recommended. I love the flowers and the home ambiance of the place.

We had a fabulous time at the Black Swan. From the moment we got there, we were pampered by the owners. They helped us book activities and gave us some suggestions on activities to do while we were in town. The best part, a helicopter picked us up at the hotel on their helipad, and took us for a 3 hour tour of White Island. It was an incredible experience! The food was fantastic and our room was so comfortable. The property is gorgeous. I can't say enough good things about the Black Swan!

We stay at Accolade for 2 nights. The owner of this motel is very friendly and very helpful. As we check-in at afternoon, he gave us a lot of useful information, include what we must do at Rotorua, and he gave us many discount voucher for the attractions. The motel is just in front of big Supermarket, and we can cook at the public kitchen at the motel. It's also very near to city centre and many attraction. The room is comfortable and clean, yet it not so big. We really thanks the owner (Mark) that makes our stay at Rotorua more easy and comfortable.

We recently stayed at the Silver Fern for 2 nights on our trip through the North Island of New Zealand. The Silver Fern was a quality stay with great staff who were happy to assist with knowledge and information for the must-see's around Rotorua. For those considering the Executive with the Spa option, I highly recommend. The spa is not a bathtub but a true spa facility and you can comfortable fit 3-4 people in it. All in all, the Silver Fern is really nice for a stay in Rotorua and we would certainly recommend it to family & friends looking to stay somewhere really comfortable with high quality furnishings...

This is the best hotel I ever stayed in so far for booking done under agoda. The hotel was located near numbers of restaurants and a good walking distance to the town and information building where we can make all the enquiry of trips. Most of all the hotel is just located next to the Rotorua lake and the lake front and also with free internet at the lobby. Staff we encounter also very helpfull and recommend to friends too who like to visit and stay in Rotorua.

Stayed there for 2 nights in early December 2016. Booked a family room for 4 adults and 1 kid, got an extra bed without extra charge. Room not very spacious, but enough for having a deep sleep after day time activities. Kitchen is clean and spacious with full equipment. Asked the staff for Tamaki Maori Village tickets, got 10 percent discount. Waited outside YHA for free transport to and from the village. Walked to Rotorua Lake after dinner, took 5-10 minutes to reach there. Night market is around that area. Highly recommend YHA Rotorua to everyone!

After having driven from New Plymouth to Auckland, and straight away down to Rotorua, we were very tired. Astray Motel is situated in the heart of Rotorua, and a sign on the main road, very easy to find. I don't usually stay in backpackers when I travel, but Astray Motel & Backpackers would be my exception. With friendly staff, our room was very simple but immaculate. We had a very comfortable stay and definitely recommend it to fellow travellers looking for a comfortable stay with great value for money in the heart and bustle of Rotorua.

This was our first 2 nights in New Zealand and the bar was definitely raised! We were greeted by very lovely and charismatic hosts who gave a great overview of Rotorua with tips of what to do and what to see. The lodge is very cosy and perfect for resting, the very good variety of TV channels are an added bonus. Thermal pool was very relaxing and a good touch. Overall, very happy campers we were!

What I love about this hotel is that the parking is right at the door of your apartment. It's really important for me because it made loading and unloading the luggages so easy. The apartment is big and spacious for the 3 of us. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook. It even has a jacuzzi(!) but I'm just too beat to try it. It is located a few mins drive away from the local supermarket and the different attractions that Rotorua has to offer. Definitely worth your money. Great service too!

Rotorua has many attractions to fill the day, but decent, value-for-money accommodation puts the icing on the cake. And this comes in leaps and bounds at the Rotorua Motel! The economy room with kitchenette is spacious and everything works. The free internet was super fast, too. The owner, Dawn, is friendly and full of tips on where to go. One great piece of advice she gave was to eat at the Capers Restaurant, which we did twice. The food was simply excellent - wish we had something like this in Canberra! The room was always promptly serviced and anything we needed was quickly provided. The motel is within comfortable walking distance of the Rotorua Museum, 'downtown', and numerous restaurants. Many of the geothermal attractions are also close by. Yes, this motel is a real winner!

This has been our best place to stay so far. 24hr Reception made checking in late very easy and stress-free for us. The staff were amazing, everybody always said hello. Such a happy positive vibe throughout the entire establishment from Reception through to the Restaurant and even the floor staff. Rooms were older but very clean and tidy with our room being cleaned daily. The motel was close to all the Rotorua attractions. The only thing we probably would have enjoyed was a more plush bed (our bed was on the harder side) but this has been the theme everywhere we've stayed so far. Thank you Holiday Inn for an exceptionally amazing stay, if/when we come back to Rotorua we will definitely stay again.

We stayed in Deluxe Cottage room. It was highly recommended as it is a separate unit from the other accommodations. The cottage is spacious and bed is very comfortable. View is absolutely stunning and can be enjoyed from the large deck or in the spa pool outside the room. I highly recommended Peppers on the Point, price is not cheap but if you are looking for great accommodation then it is worth-it. Will definately come back and stay again.

We travelled in 4: 2 adults and 2 children under 13 years old. We took Superior 1-bedroom apartment for 3 nights. And we can say that this place was totally awesome. The room was spacious and clean. The kitchen utensils were so complete and new. There were spa pool and barbeque grill in the backyard. ALmost everything was provided here. And most of all, the hosts (Mrs. Tristen and Mr. Pete) are sooo caring and helpful to us. They gave us some good suggestions about where to go and what to do in Rotorua or else. They even managed so that we can get some discount and good price in some places. NExt time when we travel again to Rotorua, for sure we will book in Kings On Peace again. Thank you so much for your hospitality during our stay!!

Five star cleanliness-Absolutely(I believe I should know due to being Housekeeping Manager of a 64rm establishment for the past 6yrs lol) Had planned a weekend of rest & relaxation, Rose Court exceeded my expectations by far. Was nervous about noise from neighboring guests, once we arrived back from markets could clearly hear the joy of fellow guests-family with children(lots) on one side, loud, happy all black supporters(with celebratory pre & after match drinks lol)on the other. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that once behind closed doors noise was no issue at all, almost like we were the only guests in house. Gary was pleasant enough, the star cleaners were shy but providing outstanding service. Close proximity to lots of popular locations & CBD. We may have finally found our "Go to" place for R&R in Rotorua we have stayed @ many over the past few years & judge Rose Court Motel as No 1 by a country mile 👌😁.
