"Standard of staff was uneven, check-in staff was lovely but cleaning staff would sometimes leave rubbish from other rooms in my room after cleaning e.g. tissue box lid on the floor, opened and half finished tube of shampoo beside my sink ( I did not use the shampoo provided by the hotel as my hair reacts badly if I don’t use my usual brand so I know that tube was not from my room). Did not feel safe as the lock did not work and there was no door chain or bar. Staff sometimes opened the door after knocking once and without waiting for a response even when do not disturb light was on. A repairman tried to enter my female colleague’s room at 11pm and when she complained the hotel said it was part of normal “turndown” procedures. It is otherwise a fairly nice hotel with a supermarket across the street and eateries nearby but if you stay there make sure the safe in your room works and maybe barricade the door with furniture or luggage before going to bed."

"The hotel was much better than expected. In general 5* hotels in Santiago at this price are 3* at best - this was a good four star. The room with seperate lounge, cooking facilities (not used) and big bathroom presented value for money. Excellent service and attention. The breakfast on the 17 th floor was great. "

"Pros- close to airport but still a bus transfer away. Takes max 30 mins in high traffic around 6/7pm but not a bad situation. Bed comfy and had a good sleep. Cons- limited menu for food and service could be improved. Our drinks were forgotten as were other visitors during peak dinner time. "

"This hotel is an excellent choice for stop-over hotel; It is not until you stay at other Chile and Peru hotels that you realise the Diego De Almagro offers great accommodation with much more space and features than higher star hotels offer. Staff at reception, restaurant & bar are all very nice and helpful. Everything seems possible and nothing is too much trouble. Around the corner from reception there are 3 computers with printers connected for free printing - I used it to print out flight tickets and boarding passes. Restaurant is real homely and buffet breakfast was good; if you are lucky you may even get a fresh capuchino if the machine is switched on :) As we had a midnight flight departure I used the garden loungers in large lawns area near lovely pools to soak up the sun and peaceful atmosphere for quite a few hours.
