Good place to stop over on the way to wahiba sands & wadi bani khalid through Sur. Gasoline station with mini mart right opposit hotel. Great reataurant right next door to hotel. Overall hotel is budget, get exactly what you pay for

From the moment I walked in the door, the Sur Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. I was able to walk most every where in town. Especially nice was the coffee and dates in the lobby every time i walked in the door.
Staff are helpful, Subeesh Incharge at front office area, he help me for anything and give me information while i am travelling to sur. Room are clean and nice location there. I will be back again to the hotel and suggest this hotel to all my friends who want to trip to oman :)

One of the best states in the Sultanate Of Oman, lots of attractions which are nearby, such as the turtles reserve, marvelous beaches with a breathtaking white sands.
Sur is a great place to see Turtles nesting. Be sure to look into a swim with the turtles. You can watch the turtles nesting at the Turtle Beach protection center near Rad Al hadd, but to complete the experience you can go out and snorkel in the area where they gather for mating and see turtles in the 100s.
There is not much to do or see in Sur. The two Castell are not that impressive - there are nicer ones in Oman.
A quiet town with a picturesque lighthouse and watch towers. We could not find any "touristy" shops for buying crafts, etc.
Sur is a small city, with an old history. In the centre is the old port, with 2 yards still building dows.
I only stayed one night as I wanted to see the turtle reserve at Ras al-Jinz. During the day (in May), Sur was extremely hot.
Its a small town with beautiful beaches and corniche. The area is developing and lot of improvements are being done.
