Find Hotels in Tagum, Philippines

This Hotel is the newest located in Tagum City an hours drive from Davao City. The taxi should cost 1200 peso fixed price from Davao City to Tagum City and visa versa. Negotiate to match that figure. The hotel is on the main road into Tagum and is new and in parts still being constructed. The pool and newly opened gym are world class and the best I have seen in the Philippines. The equipment is 5 star standard. My only complaint was the air conditioning in the gym was not yet functioning. A fan would have helped. The pool was nice for half my stay and went green for the second half... yuck! The hotel itself when finished will rate a 4 star. They are still have teething problems with the backup generator. A walk down 5 flights of stairs in the dark and being stuck in the lift during black outs was not appreciated. Tagum City like Davao City is suffering major power issues with rolling blackouts affecting Malls and hotels alike. On the up side the staff are friendly and ready to listen and act on complaints. I found the breakfast buffet was great at 6am but ice cold by 9am. One day the potatoes had been undercooked and were hard. When I pointed this out the waiter immediately returned the entire dish to the kitchen and dressed down the kitchen hand there. The rooms were nicely appointed, beds comfortable and showers hot. Soon a large pizza restaurant with a big oven will open by the pool. In around a year this hotel will be first class. For now its a B-

I don't know with the others but I had the most pleasant stay with Golden Palace Hotel. I had never encountered any problem, thank God, from making a booking thru Agoda to check out. The daily breakfast buffet is amazing and the f and b staff were quite attentive to their tasks. Except for the aircon in the room and the low water pressure on certain times of the day my stay at the hotel would have been perfect. It may not be close to some establishments but tricycle and motorcycle ride is just but very accessible. Going places won't be a problem. I would surely stay again in this hotel whenever I'm in Tagum City.

The good: Great service from the owners, they really make you feel welcome. Rooms are very very clean. The building is very new and in great condition. Very tidy and clean restaurant area. Quiet location. Other: The hotel is quite far from the main road, you would have to rely on the bikes for transport. Whilst we were there the owners took us to the local mall in their vehicle. They are planning to purchase a vehicle for transporting guests. Tagum is a great place to stay. If you are wanting a quiet relaxing stay at a cheap price, this hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Towel are quite old too which needs to change. •After transfer to the new building, room is very dusty esp the closet •Room shower/ water supply is very slow •No toothbrush in the toiletries so better just bring your own toiletries set •Daily room housekeeping is by request only •Few varieties on Set breakfast, though there are other foods not included in the set meal •No elevator

the room is dirty especially the bathroom, a centipede was on the bathroom's floor, ahhhh, so dirty... I think they are not cleaning well the room. no daily housekeeping. We are so hesitant to walk barefoot on the floor because of the unclean ambiance. the pail and the dipper were so slimmy(napaka dulas). We are afraid to be near the wall due to a very unclean room although they swept the floor, yak... not even to hold the door knob, parang marumi...NO WIFI, No water dispenser kasi sira and we cannot get hot water. the beddings napaka nipis na almost masira na, that is why we used the blanket as a bedding...THE WORSE PLACE WITH A DIRTY CR/BATHROOM we ever stayed.... NOT to be recommended that is we discouraged some of our friends to stay there on the same dates because we attended a conference..Never again will we stay there. SO DIRTY!!!!!

i have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years, including dozens in the philippines. friend and i were traveling from davao to tagum for the 1st time. it was the last saturday of the summer vacation, a time when anybody who can travel will travel. we did not want to take a chance at showing up in a strange city and risk not finding any hotel room vacancies. there were only 3 hotels that agoda listed for tagum, we mistakenly chose this one. the staff understood very little english and spoke even less. we waited 20 minutes while they spoke on the phone to somebody trying to figure out what an online booking was. the "free breakfast" was a small fried chicken leg with cold rice and ketchup. internet connection was too slow to be of any use. i have stayed hotels of this quality before, but the price was only a few hundred pesos. not 1t.

Finding the place was very challenging but thankfully I eventually did. It is pretty far from the main road. The owner helped me find rides though. The listing said 'entire home, 2 bedrooms' and showed pictures of a kitchen area. However, it is really a hotel with small rooms and that is the common area. The shower did not have hot water. If the listing was more accurate and they got hot water heaters and clear directions and contact information were provided it could be a decent facility.
