Worthwile venue ”
I enjoyed my time at the citylivein. The double room was spacious and clean, with facilities to make your own food on your stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I had an enjoyable stay. The only improvement I can suggest was in the 4 days I stayed my sheets and towels were never changed. The corridor of my room could have done with a hoover by the end of it also. I am not aware whether this is a function of citylivein that you have the same sheets/towels, but it might be worth to change it every couple of days. This is along with a quick clean of the room.

Excellent accommodation!”
CityLivein is THE place to stay in Edinburgh. We found everything we needed in the Studio room and the staff were really friendly and helpful. It's not too far to get into the city centre by foot and there are quite a few bus services nearby if need be. We would certainly stay here again.

Good for backpackers”
This hotel was the only one's hotel in Edinburgh which has affordable price while summer festival. Most of the hotel was fully booked, and the others have non-affordable price and not value for money. And this hotel was the right choice! For a small hotel, it has quite good facilities because it has kitchen in the room! The staffs were friendly. Because I booked this hotel on the same day with my check in day, it got some problem with their check-in system, but they were so helpful! And I didn't need to wait for long. Thank you!

Unmatched price in festival season”
Really cheap accomodation during festival season in Edinburgh. Quite centrally located in Edinburgh, just a 15 minutes walk to the old city and the castle. Bus stops for various lines nearby. Clean and tidy when you arrive, but they don't clean your room unless you stay more than six nights. The bed is small and not overly comfy, but all in all okay. We stayed for one week and were pleased with what we've got. Its price is what makes it a really good deal. We paid around a third compared to the cheapest hotel in central Edinburgh during the festival season. So definately recommended if you are okay with a student room (with own bath) and do not need luxy accomodation.

we really enjoyed our 1 nite stay”
My wife and I chose this place because its near town and near the airport. We had only the 1 night to but we wish we could have stayed longer. A couple of things to note, 1. this is a student accommodation. Room is small, bathroom is small, but it was comfortable enough to get a good night sleep. Bed we chose was smaller than a queen, but not a problem if you're average sized. 2. If you come during summer holidays, you'll have less students around, so its quieter. So take note that if you come during other months, the students may be chatting in the courtyard and the rooms are not well sound proofed. 3. staff were really friendly and Nikola (Nikolai?), took us to our rooms from the reception and was very informative about what to do around town. 4. shower was nice and hot and strong. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to Edinburgh for 2-3 nights.

Short Break ”
City Live -In is a good place to stay for all amenities and visits in Edinburgh, double bed room is a little small and the bed was definitely a queen ann room size. We had a communal kitchen which we never had any issues with. Condiments for tea, coffee etc were all readily available in the reception. All in all you get what you pay for and as we were visiting Edinburgh the room size was not an issue. Thank you to the staff they were excellent being able to leave our luggage at the start of our stay and at the end was fantastic.

Highly recommended central accommodation ”
We stayed here for two nights. The bedroom and kitchen were well equipped and clean and although the room was small it had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation is centrally located and there is a supermarket very close by. Staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at citylivein and would return.

Good value accomoadation ”
Student accommodation put to good use for the holidays. Good central position, staff very friendly and approachable. Accommodation very clean. Fully appointed kitchen available if required. I would say it is on a par with Travelodge for a no frills tourist hotel. We will be going back the next time we visit Edinburgh.

Great stay”
Great location, close to haymarket station, 20 min walk from the castle, ideal for our needs when we stayed. Helpful staff. Room was simple but good for a bed for the night and shower had a decent spray. Would stay again.

Student Accommodation - Nice & Adequate”
Just needed cheap, clean, functional & situated Edinburgh City Centre near train station. This place ticks all the boxes & accommodation as good as any of your corporate large chain hotels. Would use again.

Excellent”
Ideal facilities staying in a studio, in a good location close to Haymarket Railway Station, plenty bars and restaurants close by. Good value at this time of year when accommodation prices are very high elsewhere in the City.

Good place to stay while in Edinburgh”
This is part of a student accommodation, thus everything is quite standard. Fairly good location (within 5-7mins walk to Haymarket station) with many good restaurants around. The kitchenette is available but no toaster. Overall, will consider to stay here again.

Exceptional”
Good location, great place with fridge, a small electric cooker, sink, en suite bathroom - no kettle which was a bit strange seeing as they supply tea and coffee. The only two small things is that the cleaning routine is a bit odd - they clean on day 4 only if you are staying more than seven days so we stayed 6 and the room wasn't cleaned at all (but the staff did very kindly take the rubbish from us). The other thing is that the room was boiling - much, much hotter than out on the street. Overall though it was a very good deal and I would definitely stay there again. Lots of nice coffee places nearby, plenty of restaurants and grocery shops as well as easy access to town.

One night stay”
Very reasonably priced for the season and day if the week (summer, Saturday night). Very clean room and facility overall. Wished it had air conditioning, but wasn't a deal breaker. The room had an ensuite. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Confusing Layout of Premises”
1. Being told at Reception, to 'Go through the wooden door' to get to my allocated room, was totally inadequate. My room was in a totally separate building! 2. No instructions about how to work the plug in the bathroom basin/sink! 3. No facecloths supplied. For tourists, information on bus services and other important information, would be a huge help. I would stay there again if in Edinburgh.

Aussie Travellers ”
We requested a quiet room. We arrived early & we were granted a early check in no charge. Our room was on the main street side- traffic noise. The oven tray was dirty in the oven. Cutlery drawer was dirty with a beer bottle & lettuce leaf in it. The floor dirty. The bathroom was clean & the bed made up. This room didn't look like the photo of the room I booked. I showed the office staff photos of the dirty room & they were very quick to apologise & we were relocated to a very quiet clean room just like what I had booked. It was about a 40min walk to the castle. This accommodation was over priced in comparison to other accommodations of this standard which we have stayed in elsewhere.

Great bed for the night for the Festival”
Location was great and close to Haymarket Train Station. Room was a bit small but fine for 1 night. Bathroom was really clean and toiletries and towels were provided. I would stay here again.

So much better than expected! No one could be disappointed. Do not delay, book today!”
Great central location but nearby parking quite expensive (£18/day hotel in same street or £2:50/hr, max 4 hrs around corner). Some parking nearby free 17:30-08:30 if spaces available (mostly resident permit holders only). Ideal for traveler using public transport. Mattress springs bit old but hotel peaceful and staff pleasant and helpful 24 hours a day. Tea, coffee and milk sachets included and very convenient fridge and cooking facilities in studios. Ample and modern wardrobe space a bonus! Shower room very good, but shower cabin not recommended for people exceeding 100kg :) Basement table tennis and pool must not be missed, gym also available. Do check out Marco's bar next door, there are discounts for residents at this hotel on pool tables and pizza (30%off!!), gluten free available! I accidentally left my bag with my personal belongings there and retrieved it the following day with no problems. We would definitely book there again. :-)
