Lovely Hotel”
The hotel is really nice. Location is outside of town, but set in lovely grounds. Carpets on the stairs are a little worn, but still clean. In my opinion this hotel is overpriced. Especially as the price does not include breakfast. Still a good place to stay if you can get it for a good price.

Over priced for what we got!”
Me and my partner recently stayed in executive room at the hotel, usually costing around £140 per night. We came across a good deal and payed only £59, which we felt was a great deal after looking at the pictures of the rooms and reading the descriptions etc. We definitely had higher expectations of our room it's self; it was just bland, lacking in all aspects, it didn't feel cosy at all. The unevenness of the floor made it feel as though you were sleeping with your legs elevated, the one tiny window meant that it was VERY hot, however, they did provide us with a fan, that was covered in dust, tiny and made a horrendous racket! The furniture rattled every time you walked across the room! On the plus side, the bathroom was a lovely size! But again, with only one tiny window, it was terribly hot, which meant resorting into having a cold bath! & to top it off, a toilet that smelt like sewage everytime it was flushed, and a broken extractor fan!! Out of past visits to cowlick hall, I know that the venue it's self is beautiful, and the staff are all so very friendly, but on this occasion, I feel like we'd been fobbed off with an indecent room just as we found a deal price! There was nothing 4* about the room we stayed in, but I'm sure the others are lovely. When you pay the full £140 ✊💦

The hotel stands in beautiful grounds, great for walks in the woods. The staff are NOT in fitting with the surroundings, and the whole place has an "unfinished" feel to it. Furniture looks like it is being stored rather than placed in various public parts of the building. Careful if you are there at the weekend and there is a wedding on, which it looks like they have most weekends, and the rooms are not sound proofed and you hear the noise on the first floor certainly.

colwick hall has been one of my fav hotels. i have stayed twice here and its a place i can keep going and visiting. Winters are beautiful and i think its one of the most value for money castle feel hotel.
