Great stay”
Had a lovely stay for 4 nights at the Chateau. Super spacious rooms with it's own kitchen (no toaster or oven though, but did have a dishwasher which was a plus). Great location, easy to wonder straight on to the beach and go for a swim. Super friendly staff and good food options. Would easily stay here again!

Great Location”
We enjoyed the location and being able to walk straight out onto the beach from the hotel.

Except for the only guy receptionist, everything was great”
The male receptionist was very unhelpful, scoffing at every question we asked. The restaurant was subpar for the price. The risotto was awful worst tasting than vomit. They put cheese cracker disc with every dish. Very lame. Room was spacious clean efficiently cleaned.

Great hotel ”
Awesome location, perfect part of the beach & fabulous staff that were very helpful! Marked down rating on facilities as we purposefully booked this hotel for its pool & the swim up bar - disappointed that it was under maintenance the entire time of our stay. Understand we had the ability to use the next door hotel pool but just wasn’t the same! Also tried to use the spa (in the absence of the pool) and then was told it would be 3000 each, even though we were staying there - bit disappointing. Everything else about this hotel was fab, wifi was great(unlimited!) & house keepers did an incredible job! Location was also good as not too far from bars / restaurants, be prepared for a 10min walk :)

Not quite there”
The hotel is modern and in a wonderful location, the service was not quite as satisfactory. Some services were closed during Christmas and New Year, considering the price requested was not acceptable. The staff is young and helpful but sometimes a bit inexperienced.

Boycott for their outrageous WiFi policy”
I’ve stayed in six different hotels in New Caledonia… This is the only one that does not offer unlimited… In fact the pizza place across the street offers unlimited… There are 250 MB is ridiculous and they are doing this only to trick Agoda into telling you that they have free Wi-Fi. Don’t be fooled Don’t be fooled and don’t support this outrageous policy Furthermore they confirmed that they had reserved a taxi for me arriving at magenta airport but actually the employee forgot… It’s very difficult to get a taxi at the airport so I waited one hour to be able to leave the airport… No one at the hotel seems to realize that the word “sorry” should be involved. The key employee at the breakfast buffet looks unhappy to see any customer and overall I would highly recommend to give the place a pass

Highly Recommended ”
Great hotel, clean tidy and modern rooms. Good facilities with beautiful gardens, pool and several restaurants. Excellent location in a quieter area on the peninsula around from Anse Vata bay. The aquatonic spa was unique and discounted for hotel guests, we ended up going twice. Room facilities allowed for breakfast or cooking lunch or a dinner. Beds were comfortable and the cleanliness was exceptional. I’d definitely return.

Great location ”
For a hotel in the most expensive city I have ever stayed in this was good value. The rooms are very well laid out and comfortable with great facilities. The pool overlooks the beach and has a great ambience about it. Staff were extremely attentitave and even when one staff member stuffed up a tour booking another quickly solved the issue for me without delay. Noumea generally is a very expensive place to go and stay in relation to eating out and doing tours and facilities that you paid for - eg Spa - were expensive. Maybe the fact that my wife and I go to Bali each year has sploit us for value but when you eat out never get change out of $80 plus drinks for 1 course! But if going to Noumea would definitely recommend this hotel.

Relaxing in paradise”
I had 3 nights at this hotel with a friend and we were wishing we had longer. The access to the beach, beautiful location and attractiveness of the resort are the most appealing I have experienced in Noumea. There was one problem during the stay, which was that only one restaurant and one bar of those advertised, were open. More of a concern was that on the Friday night, I was looking forward to watching the sunset, sipping a glass of wine, but due to a private function, the bar and the restaurant were closed! 5 pm in the evening, for the whole night. Without warning or suggestion of any alternative or apology. If they want to continue to attract Australian tourists, they can’t close facilities in the middle of school holidays. Otherwise it was a beautiful place and the staff at all other times were terrific.

Stunning hotel with beautiful rooms”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Royale. The hotel was close to all the major attractions and the room itself was very comfortable. Beautiful view of the sea from our room and air conditioning helped cool us down at night. Only issue we had with our room was hot water in the shower.

Nice hotel, away from everything”
Nice decor, big rooms, elegant, luxurious look, okay bed, great AC system, nice kitchen and living area, small pool, nice garden, a bit of a walk from all the night lofe and shops, the bus line no 10 on ots late routes doesnt get up to Chatue Royal stop anymore so you have to stop at Hilton Area and walk the rest of the way up. Very pricey if you are on a budget. Nice secluded place good for people who have money to splash and be away from everyone and everything. If you are in a budget, go to Hilton Promenade instead or Nouvata Noumea in general is pricey even on off peak season, you just imagine that all the value is pretty much Euros equevalent even though is Pacific Franc. Whatever anything would normally cost in Australia or New Zealand, when you buy similar item in Noumea its double the cost. And this property is pretty much one of the expensive hotel on the island, its nice but you pay for that niceness.

Great place to stay”
Great location on the beach and short walk to local restaurants. Best advantage was the kitchenette that allowed for self-catering. Catch bus 10 to the noumea markets to buy your ingredients. A good way to keep food costs down.

Thank you for a great time”
The room was just great and the resort very relaxing. While a bit expensive everything was of a very high standard so you get you pay for in the end!! Loved the sunsets from the balcony and the room was just great. If you have the time do the spa and also take a taxi to the furtherest island. Staff were very welcoming and polite, they did give us the wrong time for the airport shuttle pick but that was about the only thing.

Both great and disappointing”
There is so much potential about this resort and one short peek next door to Meridian one evening only strengthened my suspicions. Firstly, location and views are amazing. What is also a great plus is a quality and friendliness of staff, even though the continuing industrial action by indigenous mostly cleaning staff was disappointing. Relatively recent renovation of the resort is also a big plus and the spacious apartments are definitely a better option than the previously small cramped hotel rooms. However, the renovation did not go far enough in my view - the corridors are dull, dark and almost creepy. Breakfast area with frequent food shortages, broken down equipment, narrow bread and fresh food choices and set in a dark, gloomy area with bland walls could not be rated higher than 2 stars - a motel grade breakfast option. Another big minus was that fact that the there was no chef in the breakfast area preparing on-demand breakfast options. Cannot continue due to limit on si
