Set in the small fishing town of Oban, Corran House Hostel is made up of two buildings in a Victorian terrace with scenic views across the bay to the Isle of Kerrera and the hills of Mull. A TV is featured in all rooms at Corran. Most have private bathroom facilities, and some have sea views. A spacious and fully-equipped shared kitchen is available for guests’ use, with seating for 20 people. Towels are provided in all rooms, but must be hired at a GBP 1 fee per towel in the dormitories. A large range of malt whiskies, bar meals, and a big-screen TV with Sky are featured in the on-site bar, which overlooks the sea. There is also a pool table and an adjacent patio area. Guests can enjoy a 10% discount when dining in the hostel's bar, Markie Dans. Oban town centre is a 10-minute walk from the hostel, and features the Oban Distillery and McCaig's Tower. St Columba's Cathedral is less than a 5-minute walk away. Glencruitten Golf Course is 1 mile away, and is nestled among the hills of Glencruitten Estate.

Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Some rooms may be located in the building next to the main hostel. These rooms are indicated in the room description. No private parking facility is available on site but ample parking can be found on either side of the building in the council car parks that are free after 18:00. However, there is an hourly charge during the day. Please note that there is no lift in the building and upper floors can be accessed only via stairs. Porterage services are not available at this hostel. Please note that the hostel does not accept American Express. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available in the kitchen only. All food and drink must be kept here and not in the guest rooms. Please note that the Bunk Bed in Mixed 4-Bed Dormitory Room is located above the pub and it may be affected by noise. For bookings of more than 6 room different policies and additional supplements may apply. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Great Stay”
Our stay at Corran House was fantastic. Our room was a nice size with a beautiful view. The bathroom was large and immaculate, and hot water was always plentiful (bonus!) The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we felt quite welcome there. Having the kitchen available for guest use was a wonderful resource. Clean, open and inviting, it was nice to have the option to bring in your own groceries or buy items from the hostel fridge, especially for those with dietary concerns. After talking with other friends that were also staying in Oban during this time, I was more than satisfied that choosing Corran House was a smart decision. When we come back to Oban, we will be staying here again.

Great Stay - Recommended ”
We had a lovely stay at Corran House Hostel - the rooms, bathrooms and facilities were clean. The kitchen worked on an Honest Jar policy which was amazing and many foodstuffs were available. The staff were helpful and friendly and the hostel is well-situated. An added bonus is that we had a sea view. Recommended.

I stayed in a dorm room for 3 nights. The decor is a bit dated but the bathrooms and kitchen were spacious, modern and very clean. The building is warm and cosy with plenty of space to relax inside and out. The kitchen has all the facilities to cook and store food for your own meals, as well as a fridge full of bread, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, etc for you to eat at a really cheap price. Tea and coffee are free. It's a 10 minute walk to town and the train, and there's a bus stop opposite. The windows overlook the bay to the islands. A very nice stay, at a good price.

We stayed at a twin room with basin and the room is clean. There were only two bathrooms and one toilet for all the guests, and one of the bathrooms was broken during our stay. Think there should be more bathrooms considering the numbers of the rooms there are.

I like the room - high ceiling, wide window and gorgeous scenery. The weather was turning warm but there was no fan. Would have been great if there was one. There is a pub at the basement. Enjoyed ourselves over some beer and taking in the local scene.

This is more of a hostel than a hotel. There's a noisy pub downstairs and the private rooms, while mostly clean, have wobbly furniture.

Absolutely perfect for our little family!”
Corran guest house was ideal for our need as a family with a two year old travelling around Scotland. We booked the small family room which was a perfect size with two double beds and an ensuite and was located on the first floor (something to ask if you are travelling with young ones as the guest house has a few flights of stairs). The kitchen area was incredible - large, with all you could possibly require and an honesty system for the goods you use. The dining area had toys for my son to play with which was great touch and made us feel right at home. The bar downstairs was family friendly and had great food - with a 10% discount as a guest staying at the guest house. Honestly i would recommend this to anyone travelling to Oban! Thanks Corran!

What a lovey stay!”
We had such a lovely time at this Guest House. It was clean and adorably decorated. The bed was super comfy and we slept so well. We loved the coffee nook with hot chocolate, biscuits, and fresh milk. Our host was so kind and there was plenty of local information available for us to plan our stay. We would love to stay here again.

Perfect Oban location, brand new shower!”
We were a little bit wary of booking our Twin Room with En-Suite in a "hostel" but the reviews were good so we gave it a chance for our 2-night break. Glad we did! Perfectly located, clean big room, brand new very clean en-suite with posh hand and shower gels. Easy access, easy to find. Two Public Car Parks beside hotel costing £1 per hour (09:00 - 18:00, free otherwise). Parking in Oban is otherwise difficult (even for residents booked into other hotels). Access to hotel via coded door, room is by key. No tea or coffee facilities in room but kitchen downstairs. Two small packs of cookies on arrival was nice touch. Bed and towels clean and comfy. Room 16. Recommended!
