Cook Islands hotels & accommodations

What we enjoyed most about this hotel is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff members. They were all local and they seemed to truly enjoy having us around. Unlike its Rarotongan counterpart this hotel provides free drinkable water (yay!) The little island is just beautiful. I think it offers the best lagoon view out of all hotels on the island. We found th...

Belinda, Andrew, Jone, Lisa and the entire Rumours family are the most exceptional hospitality organization we've ever experienced while vacationing internationally. They truly go out of their way to express their "island love" and it makes a huge impact on the level of enjoyment and relaxation experienced while on the island. They made arrangements for our every nee...

My grown kids, my husband and I have just returned from what was one of the most memorable holidays. My niece was married during our stay and we had lots of people who attended the wedding, staying at many of the accommodation venues on the island. Having checked out some of the other accommodation, Manea Beach Villas suited our party, perfectly! I would encourage any ...

The staff are so welcoming and nice, could not speak more highly of them. The accommodation is just amazing and clean. We loved our room and bathroom so much. Perfect and private for our honeymoon and we had our own plunge pool. The restaurant at the hotel was the best food I tasted on the whole island. Walking distance to the Muri Muri night markets and attractions

Adult only is a plus! Service was excellent. Rooms and food were very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Snorkelling in the lagoon at the far end, past the The Rarotongan, is the best on the island...it does not disappoint but be sure to go at, or near to low tide for the best experience. Only downside was the number of wedding party groups who were staying at...

I spent a week here on my first trip to the Cook Islands. The hotel is a very well-run and intimate place to enjoy the beauty of the island. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We were very fortunate to get a upgrade to the ocean view bungalow, where we could watch the waves crash from the patio during the day, and had direct access to the always enjoyable b...

We asked for a great break for a young family (our little guy is 11 months old). We loved the place. They provided a lovely comfortable portable cot and our little guy loved it. The rooms were great and had a small bar fridge for milk and food for our son. The shower and toilet were good, without being amazing. The gardens and surrounds at the property were fabul...

Beautiful resort in a beautiful location. The villas are stunning, everything you need to be happy and comfortable. The staff couldn’t be any lovelier, you really feel they go the extra mile and make you feel very welcome. Aitutaki is a beautiful island, very expensive but I think this is the best accommodation on the island and would thoroughly recommend it.

Celebrated my birthday with my family by travelling to the Cook Islands and staying at the Muri Beach Club Hotel which was fantastic. Lovely accommodation that had everything needed for a restful stay which was helped by this hotel having an over 18 policy for all residents. Perfect location on Muri beach lagoon with snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding all availa...

Thoroughly enjoyed a return visit to Rarotonga after 15 years! Cooks Oasis was an excellent choice. Christine and Kiel were very pleasant and helpful and always working hard to keep the place clean and tidy. We enjoyed their company and advice. There was lots of equipment to use on the beach such as snorkels, shoes, kayaks, chairs and even buckets and spades! The villa...

Palm Grove is a hidden jewel and a MUST STAY. We stayed in a beach front bungalow, with fabulous views. The snorkeling is the best I've experiences. Better than Tahiti, Caribbean and Mexico. Fish are plentiful and colorful. The Sunday BBQ was definitely a highlight. Thanks Joanne and Nga for making our trip memorable. We will be back.

Very happy with my 4 night stay, an older place but redone and clean, has a comfortable bed and good cooking facillities when i purchased some fresh fish and veges from the markets. Just out of town but easy access to Muri and South beaches and to town for shopping, bars, cafes etc. Bus stops at gate but own transport better to get around. Use of nearby (walking dist...

Believe it or not this was one of the few places on Agoda that was available at the time of booking. It was our first time seeing this place. It had a high rating and the reviews were sure promising. As we were travelling with children we were looking for a place best suited for our group - the best decision ever! I booked for 2 adults as the rest of us were catching a...

Ikurangi is amazing. If you're considering staying here, do it! The staff are amazing and genuinely lovely people, the breakfast each morning is always fresh and delicious, and staying in a big beautiful tent was brilliant. We loved riding bikes all over the island instead of renting a car or scooter, and were even offered rides into town by the staff on occasion. Eco-...

Manuia is a beautiful resort with an outstanding location. The gardens are lovely, the lagoon that it is on is beautiful and the location is extremely handy to other restaurants, resorts, the main town and the airport. That said, there were a few things that niggled me... We paid over $400 per night for a garden room, booked months ago and yet got put in the room at th...

We loved having a kitchen outfitted with what we needed to make our own breakfasts with a full size refrigerator, a microwave and an electric kettle. The bungalow was comfortable, great water pressure in the shower, and a nice view. These bungalows are best suited to low-maintenance travelers. There are no on site staff, no check in desk, you just look for a unit wi...

Rarotonga Villas were wonderful. Phillip and Jane were great hosts and we loved the accommodation. Great beds and pillows which to us was important. The villas are clean and well kept. We had a great holiday here and would not hesitate to recommend them to our family and friends thinking of a holiday in the Cook Islands.

Wonderful place with a superb location in Paradise! Situated right on a wonderful beach. I would recommend visitors to rent a scooter, as distance to grocery stores and restaurants could be a challenge in the heat. I would love to come back and stay here again, even the bungalows are a bit basic and A/C and the average internet costs quite a bit.

My wife and I had an amazing time at Muri Shores, matches perfectly with the laid back relaxed nature of Rarotonga. Fantastic location right on the shores of Muri Lagoon and in amongst some of the best dining locations in Raro (including having the nights markets right on the back doorstep - although far enough away from the noise). Nothing better than waking up here k...

We spent 8 nights at Crown Beach on our honeymoon and loved every moment of it. Pick up from the airport was simple. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded to a courtyard pool suite which was amazing and had been beautifully presented with petals and candles. We loved having the complimentary breakfast by the beach every morning and watching the sunset from ...

I suspect the people leaving bad reviews are used to staying in luxury resorts. If you're travelling on a budget, Raina Beach Apartments is a great place to base yourself. The room was enormous, it's in a great location with a beach nearby and a delicious food truck to pick up fish sandwiches for lunch, and the staff were very welcoming. One of my favourite places I st...

We had a great stay at the beach shacks and would recommend to stay here. The only thing I would recommend is if the owners can’t book you a boat tour and confirm a date prior then book elsewhere as had a nightmare with bad weather and almost didn’t make it out onto the lagoon and motus even though I had emailed weeks prior to our arrival to try and organise, I manage...

Steve was a great host, taking the chance to rent me a scooter even though I had no experience riding one - a day riding around Aitutaki was all I needed to feel almost like a pro! Having a form of transportation is essential as the island is still too large to explore via bicycle.

My family and I (5 adults, 1 child) stayed at this pool villa for 8 days. The wonderful hosts were warm and welcoming and will go out of their way to accommodate you. The home is fairly spacious with two large separate living areas and a fully functional kitchen. Easily accommodates 8 adults. The best features are the large pool and outdoor shower. Centrally located, o...

Whilst I realize these are self serviced bungalows it was not clear that one is required to arrange for replacement towels after four days or that one should ask for a change of sheets after day seven. Also milk, tea, coffee was never replenished. Somewhat disappointed that no one was present to say goodbye after being resident for 12 days and our 10am departure had b...
Cheap places to stay in Cook Islands

I stayed during low season (arriving on Christmas) so the island itself was quiet with tourists but filled with islanders coming home for the holiday. Tutai picked me up at the airport and made sure I had everything I needed (including food and transport) even though many businesses were closed. My stay at Gina’s was a gift. The lodge itself is surrounded by an amazin...

We stayed a week and enjoyed every day. Only downturn was the noise from a goat during the night behind the house and that internet is soooo expensive on Cook Islands but that is in general and ...we were there to enjoy so no internet wasn't really a downturn.

We had originally booked into an Airbnb that cancelled two days before our reservation! In a scramble we found this wonderful gem and to be honest it was actually a blessing in disguise. The villa we stayed in was immaculately kept. We had a stunning ocean view every morning and the best part was one afternoon while enjoying a coffee on the deck we were fortunate eno...

I stayed at the Coral Sands for 5 weeks and I am so glad that I have chosen to stay here. I stayed in Apt 3 (which is the same as Apts 1, 2 and 4) and it was very clean, cute, with a very well-equipped kitchen and clean bathroom. There is also a library of books and DVDs which tenants can borrow throughout their stay, as well as complimentary life vests, snorkeling gog...

As long as you understand Aitutaki and its limitations and appeal, then take this on board. Seaside is remote, private, quiet ( even the local wild cat was a nice touch) and isolated. Understand this if you book because if you expect luxury, service, things to do in place for you etc etc, then you'll be sadly disappointed because at this place it is up to you to make y...

Roratonga is a quite expensive holiday destination. If you have that in mind, then the value here is reasonable. Overall, the island rates are similar, there are fancier places, but you will pay more. The food at this resort is excellent, courteous wait staff, & cleaning staff & good security. They will try to get you coming & going with early ck-in & late ck- out fee...

Beautiful resort in a beautiful location. The villas are stunning, everything you need to be happy and comfortable. Hotel looked like deserted when we arrived. Leafs everywhere and not a soul around. It was low season but still... Also, the caretaker (sweating shirtless man) was not expecting us. We waited over an hour for someone to show up. There was a phone on the desk table but no contact info what so ever. We managed to find phone number and reached the manager. She explained ...

came for a work trip and was upgraded to the main islander property 1) opposite side of the island from avarua. ~25 mins by bus..still only 16km and not hard to bike (its all flat) back to avarua 2) simple basic kitchen well stocked with pots/pans/dishes, but very few basic things (outside of salt/pepper). luckily walking distance to a local grocery store...most basi...

We have just returned from our fourth trip the the Cook Islands and have stayed in different places each time both on Rarotonga and Aitutaki and this resort is by far the best! It’s officially rated four star but is much more five star. As far as we could tell the missing star might only be accounted for by the absence of a gym and business centre. But who needs those...

Whilst the other side of the island from the town the hotel has the best views of the ocean, perfect location for exploring the best snorkelling on the island, not far from Muri which has the best food at the night market and a lovely lagoon. The hotel was in a perfect location, very restful. The food was delicious and the cocktails were excellent. Loved the double ham...

Fantastic location, the most helpful staff I have ever encountered (down to driving us to good snorkelling spots, giving us the complete low-down on the island and just generally being lovely people - all through the Christmas/New Year period as well! Simon, Angela and Nancy are amazing - thank you so much for the perfect honeymoon experience.
