Beautiful place kept spotlessly clean throughout with large bandas with sea view and a troupe of Colobus monkeys that mind their own business for added interest. Food was nice, but as both lunch and dinner are buffet, and with similar dishes recurring it all gets a bit repetitive for a long stay. It could really do with theme nights to ring the changes and some complet...

The hotel is great for the money we paid for. Victoria, the receptionist is the best, she's always looking happy when she sees us, she always do the best to help usand we really appreciate that. Our only issue was the towels. We stayed there 4 nights, and the first and 2nd night the towels were very wet, they didn't seem to dry it enough.

These are the simple heavens in Nairobi which I feel are way too underrated. This place is awesome . Provides the modern feeling of modern traveling . The food at the restaurant was worth every penny . I tend to feel this hotel does not get the attention it deserves . Any time I am in kenya I will gladly reside at the royal tulip.

The location is fantastic, rivalling places in Zanzibar at which we have stayed. Two lovely pools! Snorkelling can be done just off the two private white sandy beaches (no problem with beach boys)! A variety of accommodation to suit your needs , including self catering! It is in a remote place so without your own transport it could be a problem if you want to try o...

Please provide more of kids meals and more activities to keep children entertained Pros - the staff are what made our stay beautiful and memorable Big thank you to Reception - Christine, Moses and their lovely colleague who I forgot her name. Carren in the restaurant for going the extra mile - getting ice from their sister hotel to chill my wine and everyone else in ...

My Fiancé and I visited Voyager Beach resort in Mombasa. Our trip was fantastic. All the staff at the hotel was friendly. When we arrive the guard at the gate, blow a horn and said the queen has arrived. I felt very special. When I arrive at the front desk, the staff was kind and helpful. I was exhausted from my long trip, and they made sure I had something to drink an...

I have stayed at a number of hotels in Nairobi over the years and this is the best by far, as for the quality of the facilities it provides excellent value. The staff are very warm and helpful and make sure you have a great stay, the food in the restaurants is of a very high quality. The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay here...

We arrived early morning with a 24 hour layover which meant we were not staying overnight. The hotel accommodated an early check-in at 6am without charging extra, but the airport transfer cost to the hotel you do have to pay for. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's an old world charm hotel which I found very beautiful. There is an "old" smell in the rooms which could ...

As usual, Margaret welcomed me with open arms when I checked in. She’s a real star, being welcoming and yet professional at the same time. But my ultimate is going for breakfast every morning - your team of Rose, Pauline and Grace are the best. I got flu while I was there and missed breakfast - I called the restaurant after 14h00 to ask Pauline what she would recom...

They staff are very professional in every way most impressive is how professional they look in their uniforms .I am a frequent traveller who have stayed in so many hotels in different countries and to be honest they staff at Best Western are indeed above and beyond.I will recommend this hotel to any friend who intend to visit Nairobi , will also stay in this hotel on ...

Excellent all around. Nairobi is a city known for security problems and the Serena is a sanctuary of safety within the city. Quiet, peaceful, with marvelous decor and lovely but small garden. Pool side dining is excellent. Staff was the best I have every found anywhere. VEry friendly and treated me like family. Other clientele are interesting from all over wo...

Pros: beautiful property, friendly staff, delicious food, right on the beach, flexible check in/check out, EXCELLENT service. Cons: we went right before the busy season, so there weren’t many people there. For us, we didn’t mind bc we only wanted to relax, but if you’re looking to party rather than relaxation, maybe this isn’t the place for you. Overall, we very muc...

Prior to and after being on safari I have found this hotel to be a real haven as a stop over to just rest or reorganise for the next leg of my Kenyan journey. Not too badly priced compared to equivalent hotels in same area. Staff are very welcoming and try to accommodate you in the best way they can. Beds are luxurious and hotel is generally quiet. A very pleasant stay...

The greeting by the receptionist was warm and friendly! She quite understood that I could not use a shower over a bath due to a recent hip replacement so moved me to another room which had a fantastic walk in shower. The room was very pleasant, though I noticed stains on the carpet. The bed was very comfortable but had a heavy, lumpy duvet.....shame as the sheets etc w...

This hotel is frequented by visitors to UNON. Rooms are small but clean though the bathrooms are very small. The hotel offers a free shuttle to UNON in the morning and has a reasonable 2000 KS transport fee to and from the airport. Breakfast was quite basic. The hotel also offers a taxi service, but I found that Uber was much cheaper. Also, UN staff should check with t...

We had a one night stopover between voluntary work placements in Kenya and Tanzania. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were courteous, friendly and attentive, our room was delightful and spotless and everything worked including the welcome airconditioning. The pool and gardens were nicely maintained and the meal we ate in the restaurant very good. We thoug...

This place was far more than my husband and I anticipated despite reading all the wonderful reviews. It's a natural oasis with a touch of pizazz. We had a tent right on the water which allowed us to do a lot of nature viewing. The wildlife here is incredible. There are so many different bird species. We saw hippos all day, and even had one pass under our abode, lo...

The hotel was very convenient for us - airport transfer service is included, but communication was not good, so we ended up taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel. The hotel rate we received from Agoda was acceptable. Breakfast, I was told by the staff, was not included in the rate, and was an additional $25.00 per person. That, I felt, was totally unreasonable.....

I cannot say there was any cons just pros. I arranged my flight to the Mara strip and met by my driver and guide throughout my stay at the lodge. He was welcoming and as my visit continued turned out to be one of the kindest human beings ever. He made sure the group and myself he was assigned to enjoy all a safari could offer at anytime of the day. In between th...

We were very happy during our stay. The place is nearby the beach, local bar and small shop is just few steps away but you don't have to go anywhere as there is nice breakfast included in the price, you can also order food in the restaurant. There is a bar and small swimming pool. The staff was very nice and the place is safe.

We enjoyed the swimming pool, staff, meals, and the location of this property. Samburu is expensive at most places and this was more reasonable than most with good amenities. We were disappointed that water was not included during meals and all water was served in plastic bottles. A little more ecology would be great. Overall, comfortable beds and great scenery....

For a person who is part of a five star hotel we usually notice very small mistakes but trust me when never found anything to complain about .From the time I made the bookings to the time I needed the adjustments everything was perfect . As we were traveling a group of 4 and I needed an extra bed which the hotel did not provide I expected a negative respond only to be ...

As a business traveler I don't like to stay in 5 star hotels. Around the world, they are all the same so you are culturally lost in space. Even the customers are all he same. This hotel hosts many different activities and there is a flow of local people. A definite plus if you want to see the culture. With respect to the hotel, it is quiet, clean, well located a...

Distant Relatives is everything a traveller can wish for. The hostel is beautifully located, quiet and wild at once. It’s truly a place where people of all kinds come together; I haven’t experienced such a strong community feeling anywhere else. The place is absolutely clean and the kitchen is one of the finest in the whole area. There are tons of chill out areas in a...

Check in and staff are very good and helpful Very old hotel Room carpets, linen and bathroom is in very poor state Bed bugs Windows are unsecured. Any intruder can enter the room through the windows easily. Agoda says it’s 4 Star. Hotel says 3 Star. It’s difficult to recommend for a business traveller

Excellent staff with a smile. Rustic charm that somebody put some money into initially building this place, but it is definitely run down now. Our bed was very comfortable and included a high quality mosquito net. Swimming pool was empty, so check ahead of time if you really need it. Place is south of town on mau mauha road, far enough from road to be quiet. If you hea...

This hotel needs a total refurbishment from head to toe. Rooms are of good size but furniture & fittings are outdated. Staff need customer service training, feels as if the few we saw were just picked up from the street & given a job. For now it's a no return for us.

The Coastgate Hotel was wonderful. My check-in was smooth, accomplished by just handing them my Agoda hotel certificate. I had a friend with me who wanted more info on the hotel. She was given a brochure and a tour of my room with me. They served me a juice as I waited for help to get on the Internet. Their current Internet solution is a 3G USB modem, which you pay ...

Only problem with location is proximity to mosque and 5am call to prayer, but you are in a predominately Islamic town. Very good breakfast and can use swimming pool at nearby hotel if you choose. Big room and good hot water shower. Good value for price. Several waterfront restaurants nearby.

We were very happy during our stay. The place is nearby the beach, local bar and small shop is just few steps away but you don't have to go anywhere as there is nice breakfast included in the price, you can also order food in the restaurant. There is a bar and small swimming pool. The staff was very nice and the place is safe.

Mdawida Homestay was everything that Trip Advisor and other reviews promised -- a nice family atmosphere that was welcoming, friendly, and helpful and made all the travelers feel like part of an extended family. Of course, being part of the family means being part of the chaos of kids running around, shared bathrooms, people coming and going, and all the other little u...

The Wildebeest Eco Lodge is a lovely place to stay. My children enjoyed the grounds, the swings etc. But, there are several negatives. We booked two luxury rooms. On both days, we had cold showers. Towels aren't changed often (to save water, which is fair enough) but as the weather was cold and damp the towels stayed cold and damp - a cold shower then a cold and very d...

I stay at Khweza with my parent for one night, the room is clean with balcony face to the road. Don't forget to have a breakfast on the root top restaurant, they provide a tasty food in cheap price, and you may see a beautiful sunset on the top also. The staff speak a good English and very helpful, they help us a lot during out stay.

Stilts has created quite the unique environment worth staying in. Set in a forest, you have access to wildlife but the comforts of a nice place. Bush baby feedings at 7 pm are a regular ritual to look forward to, and the lack of wifi in your room forces everyone to congregate in the open bar/reception area, making it easier to meet people. Staff are really kind and he...

I was really delighted. Last time (I travel to Nairobi quite often for business) the hotel was not nice. Please let me disregard the name of the other place. And Sirona was a nice change. Good value for money (work for an NGO and always travel on a small budget; the less we spend on ourselves the more we can contribute to our beneficiaries, and they really need suc...

LOVED the friendly staff, sumptuous breakfasts and spacious rooms. Wi-fi was available, albeit excruciatingly slow. I stayed in 3 different rooms in 3 weeks, and all were large but one was filled with clunky furniture, had no hangers and a TV that did not work. Hotel is in the auto mechanic part of town so as a solo female, I opted to hire a moto guy to take me to Nak...

This could have been better. They are located centrally in Nyali, near supermarkets and restaurants, but quite far away from the beach. My apartment consisted in a bedroom, bathroom, and huge living room, but the latter was shared with another apartment (thought the latter happened to be unoccupied during the whole stay). This wasn't so bad, but they should have stated...

As i was reading comments when choosing hotels to stay in Lamu, am happy and delighted with what i've read regarding this Amu guesthouse. Guests who experinced the stay always mentioning how great Mr. Kesh was. And very well said, from the time he met us taking the boat to the island and the house 'til our stay. IT was surely felt like home. I commend on Mr. Kesh and t...

Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was included in our room price and was OK. Be aware that the hotel doesn't have elevators. Hotels organized airport pick up and arranges for drivers/taxis. Despite being located close to high traffic road, the room was surprisingly quiet. Great place to stay a night or two

Location is unbeatable, food is average at best, most of the staff are friendly, some waiters are not. You are assigned a table and waiters make differences between guests. With agoda booking, you are a sevond class guest. Don't expect much except a brilliant location.

The whole focus of the hotel seemed to be on German guests which made me and Kenyan guests feel a little uncomfortable at times. For example there seemed to be quite a few elderly German male guests with their Kenyan girlfriends who commanded more than their fare share of staff attention. Breakfasts were excellent but other food seeed to be designed for German tastes. ...

This is one of the high end hotel with all the amenities you would expect. I would say it ranks by North American standards somewhere between 4 and 4.5 stars - the staff is among the most helpful and hospitable from the 35 countries I have visited. The breakfast is phenomenally good with a wide variety. If you want to have a breakfast meeting, this is the place! I reco...

This was my first visit to OVC and I would definitely return in the future. The staff were very nice and the food was great. The drinks menu (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) was super. The seating and lounging areas were very comfortable which made for a lovely and relaxing beach experience. The manager personally checked in with us every day which was thoughtful. I think...

The breakfast buffet was amazing.. it takes the staff a bit of time to deliver any requests in room, but that’s expected given the number of visitors.. I was allowed a late check out, which was amazing. Cheap drinks and food at the terrace bar for a 4 Star location!! Generally a good experience.. its a little squeezed for space. And no gardens as add appears to sh...

we had been in the north west of kenya for ten days working at a school, and this hotel created the ideal contrast that we needed before returning to work in u.k. the hotel was very friendly, (a drink waiting on arrival etc) an abundace of staff who could not do enough for you, and light and airy atmosphere. we felt relaxed and pampered by the time we left, and i ...

Ok hotel, but over priced. Interiors are broken and not up to a resonable standard. When we checked in they were fully booked so we we’re placed in a Studi when had paid for a Suite, complained and really no response. But at midnight when coming back from dinner and the bed sofa where to be made out we were relocated to a double bed room. So then there was a room for ...

The staff were absolutely awesome and helpful. We had some badluck on our trip: my colleague fell ill and I got mugged. In both cases the hotel staff was super helpful and caring. They have done their absolute upmost to make us comfortable. I cannot thank them enough. Further the a la carte food was excellent. Rooms were quite basic.

There is an URGENT need to review the security at the entrance. Customers, including those who may have just arrived from the airport with their luggage, are made to disembark from their cars, take out their luggage from the cars, their cars are searched in their absence, luggage taken through the security scans, then they return to the cars and then drive into the hot...

I was very happy to stay at Norfolk because it was perfect situated in quiet area and close to everything, walking distance to National Museum, University and Restaurants in Westland. The pool area could be more five star..........I would give 3 star there. The menue in Restaurants are good but for vegetarian like I am not so much option. Also here could be more five s...

Last year stayed here and had a problem with the food from one of their restaurant, and this year same problem again. Good my wife this time not joined me... so they really need to improve their cooking on all the restaurants. Such a pity for stars hotel like Intercontinental.

The cabins are really nice wood cabins, with large bedrooms, modern bathrooms and very comfortable mattresses. The entire lodge property is also large, so there is plenty of green space, tons of trees and you really are in the middle of nature. You can hear plenty of animals nearby(especially the elephants) at night! The staff are amazing, simple as that. They are ver...

Thank you to your many wonderful staff who made my stay truly the best part about my trip to Kenya. George collected me from the airport and was a consummate professional. They anticipated my every need and made my stay...

I wanted a 3 adult room only a double was available. When I called they said they would be happy to add one extra bed to the room. Overall, it came to a $80 per night addition for a full board adult. It was delightful and the staff were particularly pleasant and accommodating (Especially Samuel!, Jackson, and Mr. Kamal). *Location*: Please note, Kiboko (meaning Hippo i...

I booked this hotel based on its location according to Google maps, which had it in the wrong place. A fortunate error, for I would not have stayed here otherwise! And it was a grand stay. The rooms are huge and well appointed. The interior design is spectacular. The staff friendly and helpful. The view and landscaping lovely - nothing but trees, flowers and roll...

I didn't get a refurbished room and my friends did - there is a huge difference so make sure to ask. The beach isn't great as it is very tidal and is swarmed with 'beach boys' hassling you. However the hotel set up our safari and it was phenomenal - as a coastal safari base the place is perfect. It's a 2-3 hour drive from the parks but if you're doing a 3-4 day safari ...

Excellent. It is expensive but why not and you get real quality. The staff are lovely and helpful; the room is clean, top linen, air con and mosquito proof; food is delicious esp for vegetarians and the extra services for me the tennis courts, squash courts, pools and spa were excellent - just delightful

The location is perfect to avoid the dense traffic in Kenya, The hotel is perfect. Confortable and located straight at the boarder of Nairobi national park. Staff is friendly, resturang is verygood. Gym is well equipped and the massge service is very good,

Had the most memorable experience, seeing safari animals with the knowledgeable guides. Accommodation was very good and a pleasure to stay. Food was plentiful and tasted great, breakfasts and pancakes 🥞 were the favorites! Better than many 5star hotels. Balloon safari and breakfast was the highlight of the trip, would recommend everyone to do this. Memories will last ...

This hotel has a great reputation in Kenya, which is a bit over-blown if you've travelled outside the country. The rooms are tired and dated. They look like something out of a 1930s movie -- and indeed all the photos on the wall indicate this once was a favorite stop of movie stars of that era. But the food more than makes up for it, and it's a great place to relax. I ...

My family gets nervous if I book a hotel that isn’t a world wide chain they are familiar with. They were pleasantly surprised at how nice & clean the Boma hotel was. I wish we would have stayed there our 1st night in Nairobi, but I went with a hotel we had all heard of. We were only at the Boma for about 3 hours while we showered & ate dinner after a week on safari & b...

We spent two nights at the hotel. I loved the fact that it is a relatively small hotel. Our rooms were enormous. We had a garden room with a large terrace. The room was immaculate as was the huge bathroom with jacuzzi. The staff are amazing. I would personally like to thank Mr Dolla , the F&B manager, for taking such good care of us and all our needs. Loved Constance, ...

Great location and lovely staff, but I won’t be recommending this place. We had a two night booking, but ended up cutting our stay short as the hot water lasted only about five minutes, the toilet refused to flush. We were switched to a different room thereafter, but again found the hot water problem. The rooms use old fashion water heaters that take forty plus minutes...
