Over the past two years, I have been a regular guest at the Holiday Inn Express in Port Moresby, and often eat at the Holiday Inn Kopi Haus restaurant. I have always found the food quality to be poor, but on my most recent stay, I was particularly disappointed. I was served a piece of fish that was so rubbery that I could not cut through it with a knife. This fish appeared to be old and defrosted, not the fresh Barramundi that I had ordered from the menu. Concerned about food poisoning, I asked for a replacement meal. The wait staff, who were very kind and helpful, suggested that I might order the Catch of the Day instead. You would assume that the "catch of the day" comes fresh, however, when it arrived at my table, it was the same, rubbery old fish, coated in batter. The price of the meals at Kopi Haus is exorbitant, equivalent to what you would pay for meal in a decent restaurant in Brisbane, so I would expect much higher food standards. In my travels to the provinces in Papua New Guinea, I have always found it easy to find delicious, fresh and cheap local seafood at markets and local food stalls, so I simply don't understand why the quality of the meals at the Holiday Inn is so poor. It is clear that the restaurant is cutting costs, while guests continue to pay premium price. The customer service at the hotel itself is wonderful, and the staff are lovely, so I will happily stay there again on my next visit to Port Moresby, however, I will not risk food poisoning or wasting my money at the Kopi Haus restaurant again, and I suggest that others avoid it also until standards are dramatically improved.

Had to stop over for one night with my older daughter to and from travelling to Bougainville. Close to the airport, airport shuttle, fantastic service from all staff. Spent time at the pool, delicious club sandwiches, cookies and Enzos pizza supreme at the Departure Bar, cocktails at Jacksons Rooftop bar watching the planes and sunset. Loved our balcony to sit outside and read our books. Free wifi was fantastic. Booked myself through Agoda and all instructions followed - perfect and so easy.

I booked online and gave every detail possible to ensure smooth travel. Disappointingly, I was stranded at 7 pm. Contacts provided where unreliable so as the toll free number at the information booth. I ended up taking a cab even though i knew the risk. Got to the hotel only to find out their contacts were useless and I wasn't reserved a room. Credit to the Front office lady who secured a room. however, no hot water. It was a very frustrating experience. Food was average considering the price. Apart from it, i like the spacious rooms, surroundings and the gym was amazing. As for recommendation, i really don't know.

It's my first time in Kokopo and the first impression of this hotel is wonderful. Pros : 1. The room is comfortable and secure, wonderful view even when I am on the 1st floor. 2. There's hot water in the shower but no toothbrush 3. Located very conveniently with nearby restaurants and shops about 5mins walk away 4. Hote staffs are very friendly 5. Food at the restaurant taste very good 6. Quiet environment 7. Free shuttle to and from airport. 8. Great breakfast 9. Able to exchange currency at the reception 10. Room is spacious Cons 1. Internet speed is not very fast Will stay here again if I were to return again and highly recommended.

hi this is my first stay at the Ela Beach Hotel and what a lovely friendly place. There is nothing i could fault even the Brasserie was great and the staff AMAZING i cant say enough about the service i had over the 10 day stay , I feel like family and you dont find that in very many places today in this crazy world, I could not fault a thing Thankyou all for a beautiful christmas and new year best wishes to you all at Ela Beach Hotel

My friends and I spent 6 days at Rapopo. We loved it. The location is superb, the pool great and the rooms, food and service excellent. We went snorkelling, diving, swimming with dolphins and on tours of nearby Kokopo and Rabaul with Rabaul-Kokopo Dive located in the hotel grounds. We had massages in the Rapopo spa. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy. Rapopo itself is peaceful and friendly. The restaurant serves fresh local fish and veggies. We will certainly be back.

It didn't feel like hotel but more like tranquil oasis. Placed strategically, so you can easily walk to local market and interact with locals on the way. I was impressed with their food options and the quality was amazing. Perfect spot for peace and quiet, reading and unwinding. Internet was super slow but I guess you don't need it anyway. Very warm and welcoming staff too!

With the limited options in Madang this is a good choice. The location is right on the water and activities that include diving and snorkeling can be accessed from the resort via a small boat harbour. I hired the boat for snorkeling and had a fantastic time. The resort is a bit tired and the Wi-Fi is rather intermittent. The food was decent at the restaurant, but the best part of the resort was having a sunset drink at the restaurant overlooking the water. As with most things in PNG it's fairly expensive for what you get. Madang is a beautiful part of PNG and I would stay there again.

Due to the locations of the place, there were a lot of issues... which is VERY understandable considering it is in a different country, and the location is very far away. But they need to take that into account in the price. Issues: I was not picked up at the dock, due to the phone signal being down. They did not take that into account and go to the dock to wait for me. They, instead, decided not to go at all. I was lucky I was with the driver, and he got a local to take me to the resort in their boat. They did not compensate me or offer to give me complimentary anything. Also, there was no hot water in my room for 3 hours. Due to the "budget" price I paid, my room was very far from the reception area and they didn't have phones to call reception. So each time I had a question or an issue, I had to walk all the way to reception. They also charged for extra things. Again, I understand these things are due to the remote location of the resort, but then the prices should reflect that.

Been to many hotels, resorts and spas be it in Europe, Korea or SEA countries, I would say this is definitely among the best. During this period, I had stayed for 3 nights in another hotel in Ports Moresby and thus, I am able to compare both of them. They gave the five star welcome and airport pick ups (complimentary airport drops and pick ups). Delicious breakfast (make to order). They do have a mini bird park for guests and visitors to check out some of the birds in PNG. Due to my busy business schedule, it does help me to have a little bits of information about birds of paradise in PNG. I even had the chance to feed the birds ! 5 thumbs up and definitely will come again !

This was a very pleasant, quiet, comfortable and safe stay for us. The apartments are a bit old fashioned but they are very spacious and comfortable. The staff are terrific. Winnie is the onsite manager and makes herself available anytime if there's a problem. The other staff are also friendly and available. The location is very good being in town. This is not a holiday resort, but for somewhere to stay with a family or two people for an extended period when you have something to do during your stay it is very suitable.
