Location: (a) Nakano - by JR rapid train, about 8 mins from Shinjuku by JR local train, 3 stations from Shinjuku (about 15 mins) - A local residental area. But a lot of resturants (of different classes), a supermarket, a department store and a shopping street nearby. Nakano Broadway (at the end of the shoppoing street)- a shopping centre that is quite interesting. (b) Hotel Location - Located at 16/F to 19/F of an eye-catching building. 3 mins walk from JR Nakano station. Room - spacious in terms of price and by the standard of Tokyo. Apart from a bed and a bathroom with a small bathtub, my single room has a desk, a sofa and a small table. Clean. Service - Good. Luggage-keeping service available at reception. A manager speaks good English.

I needed a hostel close to Nakano station, and Yadoya was perfect. Note, the rooms are very, very small (as expected for Tokyo!), so if you're staying in the dorm rooms, note that you won't be able to lay out a giant suitcase for packing and re-packing. I was traveling with a 60L backpack. It is located very close to Nakano station and Nakano broadway. The street it is on is quiet. The helpful, friendly staff even run a flea market from the front desk! Would definitely stay here again.

I'm really happy to stay in Grape house for 4 nights. At first I booked three nights and at last day I decided to stay there one more day. The hosts are friendly and nice, if you have time and chances, you can stay at the commun area to chat with them and also other travellers. Also and check and read Tokyo traveling information from the bookshelves. Using nicely with the kitchen, having nice coffee or tea at dining table... Grape House manage the place very well, highly recommend!! Thank you so much for giving me a great time. And I totally in love with Koenji. A great place that is different from staying in the center of Tokyo city. To discover artistic activities and staffs, weekend markets, good coffee, ramen restaurants, second hand shops, relaxing parks and if you love night drinks, it's a good choice ( I love coffee but I also found Koenji is a good place for night time hang out). Try to discover Koenji next time, you won't be regreted!

The price is quite reasonable, similar to a capsule hotel, but with your own private room that is much less cramped, and a smaller hotel. KJH is close to the station and in a neighborhood with tons to do. I stay here when I am flying out or into Tokyo because it makes my long trips more bearable. The rooms are small, but just enough for a nice place to sleep and adjust to new time zones, and they are always super clean! The common bathroom area is also spotless every time. The hosts here are very kind as well! I will keep booking here whenever I can.

Overall, I would recommend this place. I never met the host so we only communicate via email but it was not a problem because response time when I had questions was fast enough. Pros: - room looks new - self check-in process is easy - big enough space for 4 people, can accommodate 5 with the sofa bed but will be tight because you will lose the sofa and table space for eating breakfast or takeout meals - having two toilets is very useful - close to the subway station - there are convenience stores, pharmacy, cafe, bakery, and small restos around - Cons: - no bars and hooks for hanging towels and change of clothes in the bathroom - it takes time for water to warm up in the kitchen and bathroom faucets & shower - after you get the right warm water temperature in the shower, it becomes cold all of a sudden while in the middle of showering, which is annoying - there is a coin-operated washing machine in the 2nd floor of the building but no dryer - no elevator in the building which is inconvenient for those with big luggage - we can hear a bit of street traffic but since we’re always tired when we get home at night, this did not bother us

Pleasant and comfortable place. The room and the facilities are neat and clean. Located in the middle of local housing complex so it's quiet and we need to be quiet too. Perfect for those who want a peaceful rest after a long day activity. Some little concern is the owner forgot to tell us in advance about the room number and gate key information, so we stuck in front of the house for a while. Thankfully after some email exchanges, we can get in to our room. Overall it's great and lovely place to stay, recommended place in Tokyo. I'd love to stay again if there's a chance. Thank you!

Koh’s apartment is very close to Nakano station (~5mins walk). There is a lot of convenient store and restaurants nearby. It is nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Nakano. Though the unit is a little small, but it is very comfortable and feels like home. Koh also was very responsive to our enquires and questions. He also suggested good restaurants to dine in. He also provide pocket wifi with good connection which was very useful during our stay as we had no issues using it when we travelled alot to other prefectures. We could recommend you to stay at Koh’s apartment if you like to experience like a local.

the reason for me to give 3 stars for location and facilities are: Location: It is about 10-15min walk from the train station, it's a pretty long walk if you are carrying luggage. But if you travel light, then no problem. Facilities: There is only 2 bathroom in the apartment, it will be some wait needed for 12 adults. Staff: there isn't anyone to brief us or welcome us on the facility, we just retrieve the key from the locker. Overall its a good stay. thanks!
