The hotel in general clean and the food was good, the staff was friendly and helpful specially Saif, Rashed, Mona, and chief Manes who prepared Gluten Free pasta sweets and bread and was ready to prepare any gluten free items, and special thanks to Saif and Rashed at endless help.

Great for couples who seek quit time”
Its a great hotel, quiet and clear of the city busy traffic. Its not close to a beach but you have a mountain view. The facilities are not bad, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is quiet and romantic. Swimming pool can be a little improves as it seems a little deserted and not much attention given to it. The pool bar for example can be utilized in a better way to attract more guests.

Looks like there is lack of finance: less staff,paper cups instead of ceramic, poor choice of food for sea buffet, leaking sanitary ware . Friendly staff, great mattress and beddings,big parking area, beautiful swimming pool.

Wonderful interiors and very good service”
We had a marvelous stay in Sohar at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Wonderful interiors, very good service and some excellent dining too, must recommend the hotel's Mediterranean Restaurant for the salmon and sea-bass dishes. Very reasonably priced too for a luxury hotel. My only qualm was that the pool bar was closed.

Everything was going swimmingly until I tried to pay the bar and meal tab at the front desk in the morning. According to the front desk at the Crowne plaza Sohar, Agoda sent the wrong (my) credit card details to them and they tried to charge me for my room. Luckily we noticed it. I showed them the hotel booking receipt from Agoda (which stated I would only have to pay for any excess charges) and an SMS from HSBC stating that Agoda had charged my account already and they removed that charge from the bill. The staff at the front desk then agreed to not charge my card until they had sorted it out with Agoda... this was at 8:34am. My wife and I then went and had a leisurely breakfast, collected our things, said goodbye to the staff and left the hotel just after 9:30am. At 9:51am, I received another text message from HSBC stating that my credit card had been used AGAIN by the hotel for the cost of the room! ... The crown plaza DID NOT try to contact me beforehand to obtain any kind of authorisation. It seems to me that they waited till we left the hotel and just ran my card through again anyway. I then spent hours out of my day when I got home trying to sort out the debacle. The front desk claimed they couldn't get in contact with Agoda (which took me all of 5 minutes) and refused to refund the amount until I produced a receipt from Agoda. Similarly, Agoda refused to take responsibility and claimed that the Crowne plaza lost their email. Whilst this was going on, I was put on hold for lengthy periods and told by Agoda that I had to provide the receipt (which I didn't have, as I wasn't there when they charged my card) before they would refund me. Eventually, I had the second charge refunded and Agoda offered me US$ 50 to compensate me for the multitude of long international phone calls I had to make to sort it all out. I still haven't had an apology or any sort of remorse from the Crowne Plaza Sohar. In the end, this "holiday" caused more stress than it relieved

Amazing hotel”
The hotel is located outside the centre centre, so if you need to go somewere you do need a car or taxi. The hotel is an amazing place, wich offers a great hospitality and has very helpful and professional staff. There is a sportsbar were you can eat and drink ( alcohol is served ) and they have an inside smokingroom. The rooms are large, the bed is very comfortable, the badroom is great. We think this hotel is more a 5 star hotel than a 4 star hotel. Plenty of choice with breakfast, several kinds of breads, fruits and loads of other tasty things.

This was another visit in Oman purely for business purposes, so no time was spent in admiration of the hotel or hotel property. It is a very convenient hotel for me due to location, and the room was cozy, and bed comfortable!
