Perfect accommodations for a solo traveler, easy check-in, 6 mins walk to nearest station, 10 mins to other stations, staff was very friendly although they didn’t speak much English, however they still tried and did their best to make the transaction go smoothly, the only down side was no housekeeping but as long as you don’t messy the room you’ll be fine, laundry facilities and trash areas make it easy to maintain your room. Vending machines located downstairs are convenient for drinks and even hot food. There is a 24 hour market right next door to fulfill any other needs you may have. Overall this was the perfect place to stay and I will definitely be staying here again. Oh almost forgot, there is a plethora of restaurants nearby to suit your cravings no matter what type of cuisine you may be desiring!

Efficient hotel”
Hotel well-located quite near Ekoda railway station with many restaurants and food shops in surrounding area. Rooms are small, but quite OK. Washing machines and dryers available. Friendly staff, service oriented. .

The staff were nice, and the price was very reasonable. We got in at 9:30pm and had no problem checking in, though the counter closes at 6:00pm. Make sure to read the instructions that you'll receive by email that tell you how to get in/contact staff after 6:00pm. Having a laundromat in the Inn was really convenient, as was the convenience store right next door. If it helps, the TV's native resolution was 1366x768 if you want to hook your laptop up to it (supported VGA and HDMI). Lots of interesting restaurants nearby. It would be a little more convenient to stay at a hotel near a station on the Yamanote line if you intend to travel around Tokyo a lot, but it only takes about 5 minutes to get to Ikebukuro from Ekoda station.

It's so close to the station, which itself is close to Ikebukuro. From there you can get anywhere in Tokyo without difficulty. Surroundings have everything you need - 24h-Konbini, Bookoff, Ramen, Sukiya, Sushi, Super Market, ... The staff was always friendly and helpful even when I asked for special things. The bed is huge and cozy, the bath is big as well (for Japanese standards). Just perfect!

Great out of town location so handy for the train, lots of supermarket type shops and lovely places to eat. Well equipped room and hotel with laundry. I stayed in a single room Wich was small but great value for money!

No daily cleaning & space too tiny...”
Before I book this hotel, I didn't notice that this hotel doesn't not provide daily cleaning. You can ask for towels and linen cleaning but to pay a surcharge. Japan's hotels are famous of its tiny space, but this hotel's room is even tinier than I thought!! Not recommend to stay here... Unless you are late planners like me, the good hotels have no vacancy at all.

Excellent for solo travel ”
This place is an awesome weekly mansion. 3 stops from Ikebukuro station with heaps of restaurants and shops right next to the place. If you want the experience of close to what it feels like living in Japan, then this is the place to stay. I would definitely recommend for a solo traveller or younger couple. It isn't serviced daily like a hotel and I actually like this as you don't have cleaners waking you up when your room doesn't really need cleaning anyway. A vacume cleaner and portable electric stove are located in the room so you can clean and cook if you wish. (located in cupboards) However with Yoshinoya, Ramen etc just outside, why would you bother! So if you want to stay in Tokyo for 1+ weeks I would definitely recommend.

Ekoda - you rock. Your staff is so kind and your rooms are comfortable. The location is good, although a little difficult from the airport, there is so much to see and do nearby that I don't mind. I had a smoking room that I was very worried about before I got there, but as soon as I opened the door I honestly couldn't tell that room was ever used that way. You do a great job keeping it fresh and clean. If you get this feedback, maybe we can speak again in the future about a long-term rate. Thank you for helping make my Tokyo experience amazing. Good budget no frills hotel”
This is a no frills cheap hotel to stay in that is near a train station that will get you into the heart of Tokyo easily or out to the mountains. The only reason to stay here is you can't afford to stay in Tokyo. There are restaurants and coffee shops in the area to walk to, very safe but nothing of much interest is in the area. I was going hiking the next day in the Japanese Alps and needed to stay on the outskirts of Tokyo.
