Return visit”
We have stayed here many times before and are always happy to return. This time, my wife and her friend were seeing Michael Buble at Resorts World Arena, and I was playing Chauffeur! Location, staff and facilities were, as always, perfect. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Breakfast is efficient and yet in a relaxing room - never crowded or frenetic. Happy to keep coming back :-)

Great location for trade show ”
Great location for trade shows at NEC as literally next door. Room spotless , staff all welcoming and helpful. Ate in one night food very nice. Only thing bar a bit expensive but typical of these type of hotels.

A little tired ”
Rooms are a little tired. We had to move room due to a leaky toilet, however maintenance staff very quick and helpful. Got moved quickly, thank you. Selected a Queen Room and was disappointed to have just a normal double bed so room ‘title’ is a bit misleading. Also sound insulation between rooms is not the best. Very convenient for NEC, breakfast was good and staff excellent. If you just need somewhere to crash after a gig it’s good for that, also long wait to be served at the bar due to large influx of customers and only 4 staff, set up of bar permitted inconsiderate late arrivers to ‘jump the queue’. Which was annoying. To reiterate good breakfast, very polite and helpful staff and was very clean.

Good hotel, distant from the centre.”
It is nice hotel for sure. Went there for the conference. But this area is very far from centre area, close to the airport. Good room, good breakfast.

Great hotel, Friendly staff, clean room. Unfortunately the pool wasn't ready due to still doing refurbishment. If you plan on using the pool ask if its ready before you book. Highly recommended stay if your going to the NEC or Resorts World

Location is great”
Located perfectly for the NEC Halls but very pricey car parking on the day - cheaper if you book in advance. £10 for 15 mins - 3 hours to pay at the gate, so don't try to just drop off cases! The man on reception had great difficulty booking us in as the computer system was so slow but then he was not very speedy! Check out also took a while due to the system starting up very slowly. It's a huge, busy hotel and we seemed to be as far away from the lift as humanly possible, lugging all our things along corridors. We later discovered a closer lift along a corridor the other way but could not see it on arrival in reception. The room was clean and roomy and the bed comfortable. The shower was rather weak but acceptable.

The moment we arrived, we felt that every single member of staff was very hospitable - I read mixed reviews of this hotel prior to our stay, so I was a bit apprehensive - but my Wife and I are confused where these bad reviews come from! Special thanks needs to go to Denise, at the breakfast restaurant - she was so helpful and nice, she kept our baby entertained and happy!

Inconsistent ”
We stay every year and our experience is different every year dependant on who we book with. This year had been the first year with our child. The staff were very kind and helpful. The rooms are a little outdated that's the downside about this hotel. Also asked housekeeping to clean our room when we checked in as still dirty in some areas of the room. Hygiene is even more important now. See you next year!

Attending an event at NEC”
Rooms are always overpriced but Agoda match priced when I rang them .they refunded the difference on the rate of room .will certainly book again with Agoda . Hotel staff as always helpful and friendly .

Mixed feelings about the hotel”
The staff were great, the room badly needed refurbishing with peeling paint on the wall, black mould and damaged door in the bathroom. Not good value, perfect location for the NEC.

Over priced with an awful bed!”
This was for a convention so naturally it was even more expensive that usual. However, if you are going to charge that much for two nights the least you can do is provide a bed that is not HARD and LUMPY. The carpet was stained with what looked like red lipstick. The only good part was the breakfast which to be fair was lovely. Never will I waste money on a Hilton again. Travelodge have much better beds!!!!

Pros location good staff friendly and willing to help Cons over priced not able to cope at breakfast with all the guests. Waiting at the bar for 30minutes for a drink when there are 9 bar staff and not very busy . We have stayed at a few Hilton hotels and this must be the worst.

The breakfast staff were extremely good & helpful. I have a mobility problem and had previously phoned the hotel requesting a room close to the elevators and club lounge, they were also advised I would like a wheelchair. On arrival no wheelchair was available. They offered to move us closer to the lounge / elevator, but would downgrade the room from a club suite to a double room. The bar tenders had different rules concerning payment, some allowing an bill to run, others say it’s a company rule you pay for every drink when it is poured. Never again. The housekeepers were friendly and very efficient.

The only room we could book was a disability room, if I was wheel chair bound no way could I get from a wheel chair and into bed, the room was tiny to manoeuvre around

The staff at reception were not so helpful. We stood there waiting in a queue to check out when they could have just asked us to drop off our keys.

Very dated...very expensive not even free water in the room. Really need to closed down for a few years-rebuild a new hilton...Will not ever stay in this hotel again

Fraying at the edges”
There's nothing that you'd say was wrong... but there are a few things you'd say weren't right. Incredibly slow service in very quiet bar and an ordering app that doesn't work. 15 minutes of queuing and 45 minutes of waiting for food to be ready. Lord help you if you want pudding or a second drink. Pool and changing rooms are grotty. Dirty towels lying all over the place. Broken tiles. Sauna door that doesn't shut properly - so it never gets hot enough. Only the furthest car parks were open and the exits blocked, so you haad to go out the no entry route. Annoying. Must say, Zara (I think that was her name) on front desk was delightful. Without her, this review would have little positive to pull it back.

Enjoyable stay”
The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is a perfect place if one has any business to conduct at the NEC Birmingham. The staff is super friendly, the food and drinks very good! Special thanks to Andrea, Stephen, Farah, Syed, Saravjit and everyone else whose names I don't remember!

Should be a three star hotel”
It's fine, but not great. No fridge or bottled water in the rooms, under staffed on busy days (although the staff were great), bathrooms are small without some of the luxuries you'd assume a four star hotel would had.
