Gross and old”

The staff spoke English and were polite. The value of this hotel is the area that had Thai food and we ate a delicious meal for 1500 which was a steal in the city. Aside from that this place had window perimeters that were pitch black from condensation or mold as I wiped it to see if it was just black or dirty. It was dirty black all around the window and on the tissue I used to wipe off. Glad we only stayed one night in the 4 bed family room. I also saw some black spots on the wall which I wiped off and it smeared black on the wall. So if you don't mind moldy walls and windows go for it. I ended up booking at Capital ginza Moegi which was like everything brand new compared to this severely overused hotel dump. The bedsheets appeared clean though and there was no smoking , bad smell at all as I'm quite sensitive. We spend 180 for the room if we had paid 250 we'd rather stay at the ginza moegi. For this below budget hotel it's overpriced as everything is too old.

good location, good value”

we originally booked for hotel empire, but when we got there, we were offered their newer rooms in another building called blue hotel. it's just a few minutes away, and nearer to okubo station. on the other end, you will see a don quijote store. the room is a little bit cramped, but it's got a kitchen, a washing machine and modern toilet. i was a bit surprised by the 10,000 yen initial deposit upon check-in, though. it's either that, or you leave your passport. you kinda don't want to leave your passport because you'll need to carry that around and get tax free discounts as well.

+ Near train station A lot of restaurants, cafe, stores nearby (since it's in Korean town) Easy check in and check out Staff are accommodating - Water station is in Level 1 (ground floor) only. You can hear conversations from rooms beside yours and in corridors as well. No locked rooms for luggages left before checking in (they're left just in front of the reception). ... if you're only looking for a place to rest/sleep in during the night since you'll be out during the day, then this is ok for its price.

Great Location”

The location is fantastic. Many food options around. 7/11 close by for a midnight snack run. A lot of Kpop stores around the are which was interesting. The station was close by. The staff were friendly and it was a nice place to stay, The size was great for 2 people. Would stay again!

Good Location”

Good location which near Shin Okubo station and Okubo station. Although the toilet is small and inconvenient for old folks, but overall the cleanliness is acceptable. Would like to recommend to upgrade the toilet bowl as well.

Hotel Empire Review (Apr-16)”

Good for a small family, though finding the place for 1st time at night can be a bit tricky. After all, you'll be out all day.. Close to a not-so-busy train station (though no elevator), laundry, 24-hr convenience store and halal food.

Awesome cozy hotel”

The hotel was locatedo nearby Okubo station (100 m) and Shin-okubo station (100+ m). Room was comfortable with enough facilities, eg. hot water, bath tub, large space, comfortable futon and comforter, free WIFI,etc.The staff were friendly and helpful.

Will stay here again next time”

Hotel is in great location, near to JR station (within walking distance). There's a 7-11 just at the corner of the hotel, which is good when you are hungry in the middle of the night. The hotel is surrounded by eateries. Room is slightly small but comfortable. Staff are nice and helpful. Overall, staying experience is good. Will come back and stay here again next time!

Super friendly staffs, very nice and clean rooms”

I loved my stay at Hotel Empire. I had a baby and they were super welcoming, they gave my son free stuff animals. They're very nice people and super polite. I didn't like I had to share a bathroom but it's super clean and great shower rooms. I like that they had a kitchen too! Highly recommended :) Especially for backpackers and couples :)

Nice Clean Great Location”

It is budget hotel with great value for money. The hotel is clean with all the basic necessities. The size kind of small, but that is generally the size for most hotel room in Tokyo. The area is surrounded by plenty of eating joints and place for shopping. It is little Korean town in Tokyo. The hotel only about 200 meters from Shin-Okubo station on Yamanote Line, which provide easy access to anywhere in Tokyo.

Easy access to public transport”

5-min walk to Shin-Okubo station which is near to Shinjuku. Good choice for people who want a budget trip as it is of low cost and it is very clean. It is located in Korea street with lots of Korean restaurant and K-pop merchandise shops. Convenient store is only a few minutes from hotel.

Superb Location and Large Rooms”

Super Recommended for Family. The hotel is located nearby to the Subway Station. The hotel room is considered big compared to other Hotels in Tokyo. Will definitely Stay in here for future trips in Tokyo

Good Location”

The hotel is very near to 2 lines of train station, JR Yamatone line and JR Sobu Line. There are many food shop and convenience stores around the hotel. By the way, when we checked in and went to our rooms. There is no blanket and pillow for 2 beds. We went down to inform the front desk. She willing to find out and we got it in finally anyway.

Value for money”

Loved this hotel. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the train station and nearby Shinjuku. Very clean with friendly staff. Staff were very happy for us to leave our luggage with them after we checked out and we returned in the evening to collect. Would be happy to recommend to all.

the hotel room for group once is ok. the hotel suitable for family trip and couple trip. the hotel's location is very good, near to the mrt station and the area also have the 24 hours shop and restaurants. besides this, the hotel also easy to find it. the hotel staff also very friendly. the hotel price also reasonable.

Great Location,Convenient & Affordable”

close to the Okubo Station. From Shinjuku take Chuo Sobu Local Line(Platform 15).when u arrive,take south exit and turn left go straight and turn right.after the first junction,turn left.it is easy to find.the hotel provide water dispenser and microwave at lobby.internet access at each level also.the room quite big compared to normal Japanese standard room and clean.staff very friendly and helpful.affordable hotel to stay.im highly recommended this hotel and surely going to stay here again.

Excellent location!”

It was a bit hard to find at first, but once I had my grips on the alleys and crossroads, it was indeed on a fantastic location, in a close walking distance from Okubo and Shin-Okubo station. The bar next door (practically connected) opens up until 2AM. Nice staff. I had no problem whatsoever. A decent place for that great price.

The room is much bigger and less expensive (than the other Tokyo hotel I stayed near Asakusa area). Hotel Empire is 5 min walk from the Okubo subway, tucked in an alley off the main road of a residential area. There are many restaurants, convenience & groceries stores along the main road - a cafe Freshness Burger which opens at 7am. Nice and juicy burgers!!!
