Japanese hospitality in the middle of a bustling Tokyo City”

The ryokan is located in hubs of transport which made it a viable place to stay. The innkeepers are also warm and friendly. They let me stay for a bit of time and kept my luggage safe after check out. The amenities are barebones but that's what's great about it. The essentials like hot showers, magic toilets, and a roomy place to stay are what you get to keep you going. Pros: location, staff, rooms, staff Cons: hallway is quite small for larger people, single shower room

Good Location Friendly and comfortable”

The location is easy to access with main road, 10 minutes walk from Ueno and 5 minutes walk from Inaricho station. The staff is very friendly. The room is wide enough for 2 persons and clean in ryokan style. The location close to 7-11, 2 food shops around 500m.

Very good resident on Ueno ”

This place is very good welcome, comfortable, easy to transportation, very nice for travelers. Owner very kindness and support. If you looking for ryokan style I’m prefer this place, you will impressed like me.

Excellent stay”

We are a group of 4 friends (all girls) and we stayed here when we went to Japan. The owners are very welcoming and very kind. They even gave us green tea as welcoming drinks. They have a translating device to suggest where to go and what to ride. There is only 1 female and 1 male toilet and 1 shower room. It is only a small accommodation and is located approximately 15 minutes from the nearest subway station. The neighborhood is also very quiet. When it was our time to leave the ryokan, they gave us a handwritten letter in our language with some green tea sachets and chocolates. We were very satisfied and happy with our stay here in Komatsu Ryokan.

Quirky, but fun experience”

It has thin walls and shared bathroom, but feels like staying in someone's private home. Very friendly staff. Great location just short walk from market and a central station. There's even a nice small restaurant next door.

Nice little Ryokan in peacful & quiet neighbourhood!”

A short walk from Ueno station, but easy to find & in a very peaceful & quiet neighbourhood, and only a short distance from konbini, bars & restaurants. The owner is really friendly & helpful, the price very reasonable for the rather tiny Japanese-style rooms, and the facilities are nice & clean! The only point is that there‘s only one shower/bath room, but as there are not that many rooms this should be ok in most cases.

Good staff and location”

Not far from Ueno station and Ameyoko market. Staff is so nice. The toilet and room are clean and enough for everyone, but there is only one bathroom. I was waiting for other people took a bath longtime.

Comfortable stay”

It takes around 10-15 min walk from the hotel to Ueno station. Tiny Japanese style room but in a very good price for Ueno area. Staff was nice and friendly. Although there is a stair from the lobby to the guest room floor, the male staff is willing to help take the luggage and you may also seek help from the female staff to take the luggage together with you. Had a comfortable stay and nice experience in this ryokan.

super nice owner, we booked the lounge, the room is enough for our family and kitchen, bathroom and toilet is very clean. The cleaner is super nice, gave my kids lollies. :)

Traditional style, lots of charm but might be an issue for westerners”

Pros: + Staff is very, very nice. + Everything has so much charm, you really feel more like a guest than a tourist. + Common fridge, microwave oven, grill. + The shower is very good. + A traditional japanese experience. + Close to Ueno park (National Museum), to the big Ueno station, and at walking distance of the hugely famous Senso-ji temple. Also next to Inaricho metro station (very convenient). Cons: - Traditional entails a small room, there is only one shower room (with two showers, only interesting of you're a couple), one rest room per floor, and everything is a bit tiny.

Traditional Tatami Mat room. Good Aircon (important for summer in Tokyo). Close to Ueno Station. Fantastic bang for your buck. Only one shower, but you can sign up and be next in line. Going back in a week. Looking forward to it! Super friendly owner!

Traditional vibe”

A very small (just 5 rooms and 1 shared bathroom) but lovely hostel with polite and welcoming staffs. Maybe not the best choice if you have a lot of baggage or need some privacy/comforting during your stay. (Because there's no elevator, the stairs are narrow and the wall might be considered too thin for a light sleeper. Facilities are not much too, but we already knew what's to expect so it's fine by us) The nearest station is Subway Inaricho (around 500m walk from there) We will come back if we visit Tokyo again!

Lovely place! We are a family of four and the room was just enough for us. The futons were comfortable and clean and the facilities were nice, we really enjoyed our stay here. Location is close to the station but was relatively tricky to find at first. I would not recommend this place for people with a lot of luggage however it is a great choice if you are packing light.

My mother and I went for Mt.Fuji climbing and we stayed at Komatsu Ryokan 1 day before and after. It was our first time in Tokyo. The owner was so kind to keep our luggage in the room without charging us extra. We are impressed by the cleanliness and the tidiness of the facilities. It has been a very pleasant stay and we would recommend Komatsu Ryokan to all our friends.

It's easy access to two subway stations. You can also experience the traditional tatami with reasonable price. The owner is very very kind and give us a lot of help. Really appreciate for their assistance. Looking forward to visiting soon.

Lovely first night in Japan”

This ryokan was a great value. The room was beautiful and comfortable, and very clean. It was difficult to find as I got there after nightfall. One thing I wish the rooms had were mirrors as there is only one for all the upstairs rooms to share. I would stay here again

Kind uncle receptionist”

We took the loft room, so 2 slept on top, 2 on the ground. Futon & yukata provided. Heated shower just outside our door (Ground floor). They have a yakitori joint next door. Nearest station is Inari cho, but we figured a feeder bus was pretty convenient between us and asakusa kitchenware street. Clean is an understatement in japan. Pantry is right next to our room~

Very close to all facilities”

This little ryokan is easy to find and a short walk away from the JR Ueno station as well as Ameyoko market. Buy the cheapest roasted macadamia nuts here at Y1000 per kg, as well as juicy fruit. Walk to Kappabashi and Sensō-ji temple.
