Best in Kanda Area”

I don't usually give reviews on my capsule hostels experiences but I have to with OBI. I've been staying with lots of hostels in Tokyo from time to time as my work requires me to. I've been to most of the hostels in Kanda area but this one is the best so far. Beds are comfortable not to mention the comforters! Shower room and sinks are in the right distance against the beds so whenever some will use it, it won't be a disturbance. :)

Very Clean, brand new open early April 2017. Great staff. The 1 and ONLY concern that I have: SAFETY. the whole building only have 1 elevator. only staff can use the stairs. the stairs is not visible at my floor. Although there is a emergency exit, which is in my room (female dorm). BUT consider this, If I stay on 3rd floor, and I went to the kitchen on the 2nd floor, a fire broke out somewhere, I will HAVE to go through the female dorm (2nd floor) which is locked with a password to escape, or I will have to wait for the elevator...which it was never suggested during a fire and the elevator is next to the kitchen... All I can say is, this hostel seems to have everything done well, but I really doubt they have passed the fire inspection, which lead to my doubts on their operating licenses.

Nice location as it is only two stations away from Tokyo. Good wooden cabin but better ventilation can be brought as it was a bit hot inside. Kitchen can be larger. The staff members are welcoming too!

Obi Hostel was far better than I expected! It was very close to main subway stations and convenience store. Also, since it was recently open, the room was super clean. All the staff members I met were very kind and friendly. The only bad thing was, that the room and the kitchen did not allow enough space to do sth like packing baggages and eating. Hope everyone gets to know how nice this hostel is :) Thanks.

A pretty new hostel, very clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They keep making fun events like Takoyaki party (yummy!!), Sumo morning, etc.... Lobby area is very social (great place to meet other travellers or just chill with a beer). Also have a bar/restaurant with amazing breakfast and lunch buffet (great value for money) and discounted draft beer. Only con was the dorms are small so not a lot of place to open you suitcase. I loved that place (stayed here twice during my trip) and will definitely come back.

It's close to station, that's the most important. The PLUS is, the Owner (yang mirip Hostnya Kick Andy lol) is soooo friendly and helpfull. All the Staff english are good, and they all Full of Smile. The room is nice, it has 1 USB charging so you don't need a converter. I will stay on this hotel when i visit Tokyo again. Salam dari Indonesia!!

This is honestly the best hostel I've lived in throughout my month in Japan. The place is new and very clean and there's a good and lively atmosphere present, especially in the bar on the ground floor. The staff are very friendly and interactive so you won't be short of a conversation. The hostel has a kitchen with essentials like oil, sugar, salt, a cooker et cetera so it is possible to cook simple meals. The hostel also has sufficient showers, toilets and a mini launderette. Location wise it is very strategically located, perhaps a minute's walk from JR Bakurocho Station, Toei Bakuro Yokoyama Station on the Shinjuku Line and Toei Higashi Nihonbashi Station on the Asakusa Line. Popular areas like Asakusa, Chiyoda, Akiba et cetera are less than 15 minutes away by metro.. or you could opt to cycle around the city (the hostel does not rent bicycles, but if you have got 1 you could request to store your bicycle on the 2nd floor/3rd level at the staircase landing). The staff also allow for baggage storage pre-check-in and post-check-out but there is a specific time of which I can't remember off the top of my head - it would be best to clarify with the hostel staff but if I'm not mistaken its 8am to 1am. Overall highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again when I visit Tokyo again.

the location is great, but overall the facilities are disappointing ”

the kitchen is too small, there are only two seats available the mattress is quite comfortable, but the bed is poorly designed the room I booked sounds like a 2 beds dormitory room with my own entrance, but it is actually just a corner bunk-bed located at the end of the 24 beds dormitory room that was quite disappointing at the check-in, they should have mentioned the total number of beds in the room name.

Very awful smell, no towel and WiFi provided. Initially I booked for 4 nights but at the end, I cancelled and stayed for a night!
