It’s not a hotel , by any standard ,no facilities as in no bar no restaurant no breakfast area ,filthy dirty paintwork walls woodwork etc filthy old worn loose fitting carpets metal frame beds , I have stayed in hotels all over the world and B and B s hostels etc and I’ve never seen anything as bad as this , don’t no how it’s open , on health and safety issues alone , seriously I could keep going bathroom door couldn’t be closed TV did’nt work staff couldn’t care less , would have gone somewhere else .only nothing else in the area available at the time , I don’t normally leave reviews etc , but this was not any standard ,bar great location , should be closed immediately .

Old and tired”
The hotel is in a great location but it is very old and tired and needs major renovations. There is a very strong smell of air freshener diffusers everywhere, trying to cover up musty damp smells. The bedding, towels and shower curtain was very clean and new looking which is the most important thing, but the furniture and carpets are very old.

Very frustrated with the booking company Agoda”
On 4 occasions I rang to cancel my booking - the telephone no. was an international no. to try and speak to their customer services, I was just left holding on each time for 20 mins. or so until I gave up. (ALL AT MY COST)... I also e-mailed their customer services just to be told on three occasions this time, to ring their customer services to cancel my booking. In desperation I rang the Redcar Hotel Bath direct, to be given a short and not very sympathetic reply "you have to ring the booking company". So consequently we never arrived, I should'nt think they were bothered as they have their money, which I guess is all that matters to them. Yours EVER SO SLIGHTLY FRUSTRATED AND ANNOYED

What a dive. Disgusting rooms and felt every spring in bed. Hade to listen to another couple bouncing on their springs through night next door. Room slanted and bathroom door didn't shut. No lift. No tea or coffee making facilities and were told can't use water for drinking as redoimg pipes so we brushed our teeth with our bottled water and didn't shower until next day when got to a civilised hotel. On arrival staff member was nice but after that other one was just rude. Smelt like dope in back open foyer where said we cld leave our bags awhile after chk out. Very noisy all night. Only good thing is location. Don't do it to yourself.

Wanted to charge me again as didnt want to accept agida booking. Walls paper thin. Could hear conversations word for word in adjoining, opposite and above rooms. Very noisy. Bar closed on a sat night. No drinking water

Worst Hotel Ever!”
where do i start? the good point the hotel is in a good location for walking into the centre, the bad points (1) outside peeling paint on the woodwork does not give a good first Impression (2) no warm welcome from the chap on reception & could not find our booking on his computer (3) inside the hotel was very dark on all the floors thread bear carpets/not fitted Properly/grubby wallpaper etc when we asked about the food and drinks etc we were told the bar/kitchen were no longer been used (Redcar web page says Refurbishment!) (4) room (once we got there top floor last room and out of breath) very very basic window opened about 4" and the window was covered in dirt, warning sign not to drink the water may be the reason they was no tea/coffee in the room. also they was a contant banging from the water system while we was there, hot water was hit and miss and on one day did not even come out of the tap. i would go on but i have run out of words in the review box. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

The hotel room environment & the bed are uncomfortable ”
The hotel room is absolutely different from the pictures been displayed. The bed is too soft as the spring of the mattress is not supporting anymore and very noisy. The environment of the hotel room looked like a hostel.

Wi fi only available in the lobby. No facilities for making a drink, and the tap water had a sign above to say not suitable for drinking. Metal bed frame extremely wobbly and noisy. The whole hotel very dated and carpets were ruffled and dirty. Same bits of dirt on the stairs my whole stay, clearly not hoovered .

Musky n mousy smell when you enter. Most basic hotel I hv been. In need of a major refurbishment. Only thing good is location. Parking is not available for guests. You hv to find yr own parking along the street

Good Value, Great Location, Needs a LOT of work!”
Redcar Hotel is a short walk to the centre of Bath, which is great. Upon our arrival, our booking had been lost, even though the money had been deducted from our account. The staff member on the desk wasn't very helpful initially, however after a couple of hours, he was able to resolve the matter. Our room was pretty ordinary and very poor on maintenance, however it was clean and tidy. No Tea or Coffee Facilities, No Fridge, but the central location was very convenient.

Dreadful Hotel ,dirty carpets no air conditioning no tea making facilities. The staff were unhelpful. I would advise against staying at this hotel. It was the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in and I have travelled all over the world.

Upon booking parking stated included, was extra £10 per night on first come first served basis. Unwelcoming run down, carpets thread bare, doors paintwork dirty. Basic of basics. No lift, so very difficult to negotiate numerous flights of stairs & corridors (challenging if infirm!) Staff while friendly very unprofessional & matter of fact “well its an old building what do you expect”! Very ambivalent about service/facilities. Always staff smoking outside entrance & chatting with various others even after midnight! Room in the loft - extremely hot & stuffy; cooling system very old/archaic/noisey, could not leave running through night. TV poor signal so no use, bedside lamp didn’t work wi-fi same. No tea coffee, kettle, glasses facilities or hairdryer. No breakfast/food/beverage facilities. If this was c£35-40pn then perhaps be value for money Very sad, it would not take much to up the standard of this hotel. My son stayed in hostels better facilitated! Agoda uncontactable via phone!

Dingy and dangerous ”
My husband and I travel a fair bit and I have to say this was one of the worst establishments we've ever stayed at. Thank goodness it was only for one night. We definitely wouldn't have stayed longer. The hotel is shabby and in need of a Gordon Ramsey makeover. A complete renovation and overhaul. The reception staff were unenthusiastic at best. The fire doors made it awkward to access rooms with luggage. Our room was unhoovered with the shabbiest carpet ever. A piece was missing by the bathroom with the gripper exposed, posing a potential risk if barefooted. It was however patched up on request. I found it hard to regulate the shower temperature and even harder to fight off the shower curtain whilst washing. There is no drinking water available or provided and no coffee making facilities. Not even a functioning bar. We are very disappointed with this choice of hotel, with the only plus side being its location.

The staff were excellent, what a shame that there was no water available anywhere in the hotel, no coffee making facilities, no lift, no fans, just a clean and comfortable bed.

Whilst the bed was clean and the towels were fresh, the whole place was dirty. There was no drinking water and no tea/coffee making equipment. The staff were OK, but contact with them was minimal. The only good point is the location.

I paid £99 for what I what I believed to be Bed and Breakfast. When we arrived and unfortunately after I had paid we discovered there was NO BREAKFAST NO TEA OR COFFEE IN THE ROOMS THE WATER WAS UNFIT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION THE BAR WAS CLOSED apparently they were under refurbishment but we had not been notified. The beds were uncomfortable with springs felt through the bed linen. The carpets were stained and grubby. We had to ask to be moved from the 3rd floor down to the 1st floor as there was no lift and my 70 year old husband was unable to climb the somwhat rickity stairs. The WIFI worked in one part of the lounge only and nowhere else in the building. Luckily we were only staying for one night and I have to say never again . When I inquired about compensation I was told bad luck!. I looked on their website to see if there was any mention of any refurbishment and discovered they had dropped the price to £65 per night but unfortunately not for me. Worst hotel experience ever!
