Very happy with hotel stay. We were allocated a huge room with four-poster bed and recently renovated bathroom -all spotless. The location is fantastic. Staff are friendly and efficient. We had a great stay and it was particularly quiet. One downside, for such a large room, the TV could have done with being a bit bigger!

Can't fault it. The location is perfect, central. The room we had was a good size with a table and chairs. It was very clean and perfectly comfortable for the price. It was nice and quiet too. The tv is a bit dated but that wasn't a priority. Bed comfortable and clean sheets. I always find that the staff are nice and very efficient at this hotel and also make check in very efficient and quick.

All round my stay at The Royal Albion Hotel was good, however phone reception in my room which is on Level -1 is very poor, that is the only down fall really. Clean room, good shower and comfortable bed. Budget room summery, overall good. I’ve stayed here many times and will do again

Pros Brilliant location. Cons Outdated facilities, patch eork everywhere. Front desk checking in staff didnt appear to know what they were doing. Not familiar with computor system leading to long waiting times in the queue.

Room with a view”

Lovely non-air-conditioned room. Strategically located near the Brighton Pier, The Lanes and The Royal Pavillion. The best place to stay for Brighton Marathon participants

We had a nice stay with the exception of the water pressure in shower which barely acceptable. Staff and location are good.

Disappointing stay after booking a SUPERIOR double sea view room. There was nothing superior about the room other than the price. Yes it had a sea view but, amongst other issues, the bathroom was dirty, a drawer was broken, a lampshade was broken and the light bulb was touching the shade (think fire), the mattress had seen better days and I spent all night trying not to fall out of the bed. When raised with the reception staff all I got was "I'm sorry". In the restaurant the breakfast staff made you feel like you were putting them out. One gets the feeling the hotel experience is more about the staff than it's guests. This hotel has seen better days and although it is in a good location, it could do with a Gordon Ramsay style makeover and that includes the staff. Who needs a row after a night with no sleep? Brighton offers better places to stay for less money. Heed my advice.

Was really lovely location, stayed in superior room with sea view, shower head kept falling off, got the room at discount price so was ok, if we had paid full price would have expected more luxury in the room, no bath goodies supplied, would stay again at discounted price.

Quite frankly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Boiling hot, noisy to the point of wanting to check in elsewhere (should have), no bath towels, wifi was intermittent and to top it all off the mattress springs were almost coming through the mattress! I honestly do not understand why a hotel in such a prime location can't make more of an effort.

This is a beautiful hotel, ideally situated. It is a shame that some parts are showing signs of wear and tear I,e, badly stained carpet in our room, bedside lamp that turned off when the bedside table drawers was shut. Furniture old, and old fashioned. This could be superb with a it of updating.

The Royal Albion provided an all round excellent experience. The directions to the local late night toothpaste retailer were delivered with eloquence and efficiency by Miran. The carpets which had been much maligned by reviews on various forums and were a genuine concern upon arrival were a great surprise. We were genuinally thrilled with the texture look and comfort offered by the cloth. The lifts although relatively small had a friendly vibe offering a great place to meet fellow tourists. The bag room although not frequented or utilised was a nice to have. Only negative I would mention to fellow albioners would be the bath plugs being slight misshaped.

We had been traveling around the UK and flying back to the States from Gatwick, so needed a place to stay for one night. It was perfect and would have loved to stay longer. We definitely recommend it and the view and location is perfect.

Great value for money”

Pros: cheap and cheerful and you can't complain when you're waking up looking at the pier. Friendly staff. Room was quite spacious. They even provided entertainment at the bar. Will definitely use again and recommend. Cons: no parking. the whole of Brighton has expensive parking. The decor needs updating. It's very old decor. Had a nursing home feel to the actual hotel, although room was fine.

We had a great overnight stay at the Albion, our room overlooking the Brighton Pier was F A B ! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and approachable, especially the team on Reception. We were delighted that we were able to check out later than the original check out time ... 10am toooooooooo early when you are enjoying a leisurely break. Our room was clean and well furnished, the view was a bonus. We would love to visit again especially at the good value price. THANK YOU x

Good value for money ”

This was the cheapest room I could find in Brighton for one night. After getting it so cheaply and reading some of the bad reviews I was quite worried, however it turned out to be just right. Clean and We had a comfortable bed for the night, overlooking the pier - couldn't have been closer if we tried!! Not sure what everyone is complaining about but we found the hotel to be more than adequate, especially considering the price.

Perfect location”

We stayed on a thursday/friday/saturday. Location was superb facing the pier. Checked in with no trouble, was given the room 552. I would highly recommend this room- it was right at the top of the building facing the sea, which was a pleasant surprise. Room was warm, there were extra pillows, blanket and towels. Plenty of space in the room for what we needed. Could hear music from the pier but were not disturbed at all during the evening/night. Only down side was doors slamming within the hotel- but you cannot pick your neighbours! Free wifi was an extra perk too! Would definitely use again :)

Better than expected”

Having read a number of poor reviews, I was pleasantly surprised that it was much better than that, Even the bar was 'sensible prices' Hotel could use some face lifting, but if it had that it would be a £200 an night not what we paid. Will return
