Amazing hotel and staff!”
I was absolutely blown away by the property, food and staff! Ended up booking an extra night because it was amazing! Spring for the premium room if you can afford it. I stayed in both deluxe and premium and premium was a lot nicer! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kumejima.

Very nice location, very good staffs”
There is a private beach, a spacious garden. You can see beautiful sunset from beach. There are a restaurant in the hotel, but I recommend to go outside (Matsunoya, was very very very very good).

Great location and incredibly helpful”
The staff were very helpful with whatever we needed. The pool and access to a gorgeous beach cannot be beat. Delicious breakfast and amenities as well. Highly recommend if you’re staying on Kume Island.

A memorable stay”
We really like this hotel, and in fact, it was the best service we received among our 9 days trip in Okinawa and the surrounding islands. Staff there were really friendly, polite and helpful in our tour arrangement, car rental as well as picking up and dropping service. Special thanks to the exceptional service from Tanaka and another young girl in the morning. They tried their best to communicate in English. We love the serene environment too. The view from the balcony was spectacular. We love strolling at the garden after dinner under the starry night. What's more? The hotel comes with hotbath and massage chairs too at the first floor. The breakfast was unbeatable. Dinner wise was just so so. Perhaps we didn't pick the right menu. The fish was overcooked and fish&chips were too salty. Only the pork is nice. It will be better if you have rented a car to dine at the restaurant outside. Yes, you'd need a car or else nothing is walkable within the hotel area. It was yet a memorable stay

This hotel was very clean/newer, staff was incredibly helpful & professional, beach was beautiful, & they have shuttles to airport/attractions. Cons: location requires car to restaurants & pool was closed for winter.

Great get away”
We had a wonderful stay even with some of the COVID mitigations in place. We were outside of town but the whole island takes less than an hour to drive around. Still very close to many sites. We will stay here again if or when we visit Kume in the future.

nice getaway but far from town”
enjoyed our stay here, but there's nothing around! it's a $22-$26 taxi to the eef beach area where there are more restaurants. the pool area here is amazing though! rooms were older, but clean. massage chairs were nice! didn't try the public bath but it looked nice inside. very friendly staff & helpful when booking tours around the island

Not worth the money ”
The room was so basic for more than ¥30,000 a night. The bathroom was small, the carpet was dirty and we were shocked that you had to pay for towels for the pool. For the price you pay for the room - surely they should be included? The website does not mention that you cannot use the pool with visible tattoos either, so we were unable to go in the water. The pool is deceptively small. The front desk staff were very attentive and helpful, although we were told we would have to pay ¥1500 to check out just 30 mins later than the checkout time - also not something you would expect when paying so much for a room. The restaurant staff were slow and clumsy - our waiter spilt our champagne all over the table and walked off without wiping it up. None of our dishes were cleared when new courses came so we had to eat surrounded by dirty plates. Strange service for what is supposed to be a 4* hotel. Overall, it was a really disappointing stay and completely overpriced.

Not bad..... ”
The Cypress Resort Kumejima is one of the better choices on the island. To call it a resort is a stretch, though. The facilities is old and the rooms are quite musty. The old dirty carpet needs to go, too! The beds are pretty hard and uncomfortable, as well. Eating at the property is also very expensive as are many of the extra day tours. The view, on the other hand, is beautiful and the pool is amazing. I would recommend outdoor chairs for the balconies off of the rooms, though. The hotel is right on Shinri Beach. It is very peaceful and quiet on this side of the island. Unfortunately, most of the action and restaurants are across the island on Ifu Bichi. If you bring your own car or rent one, you can get anywhere very easily. All in all, Kumejima is worth the visit. It is such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of Okinawa-honto. Plus, it is incredibly beautiful and diverse with anything from beach activities to hiking in the mountains. I would recommend staying at this property but to call it a resort is not accurate. It is a decent hotel, with a decent breakfast included and decent amenities. Just know that it is not at all a resort. It was adequate for our needs by not luxurious.

Nice resort for enjoying holiday”
Resort located only 5 mins' drive from airport and can see aircraft taking off and landing while has the sun set as background. The room can be described "Huge" compared to other accommodations in japan. Many many selection of breakfast buffet and very oishi. Hotel has free shuttle bus for picking up and dropping off according to the flight schedule. Extremely helpful and polite staff, always willing to help communicating with the taxi drivers and always banned when greeting you. Very nice accommodation experience and definitely will come back again.

Great stay, but room for improvement. ”
The room was wonderful and had a great view of the ocean. The breakfast spread had a ton of food, but few western options. There was little or no air conditioning in the elevator or upper hallways. The in house massage has moved out of house and across the island, at least 20+ minutes away. We found the lunch and dinner menus reasonably priced, but you could run up a bill quickly. For example 500 yen for a not quite full glass of Coke. If you plan on joining to tour to hatenohama, please be aware that the tide schedule determines the length of stay. We only were there one hour, and it was $35 per person. My recommendation, if you visit the island, rent a car. There is plenty to see, but the hotel only offers the one tour.

Beautiful beach! Cozy hotel! Nice experience!!”
We stayed two nights. The room is comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and the most healthy one I've seen before. Highly recommended for someone who want to relax. If you don't rent a car, there are free shuttle services to port or airport. We could only take bus to the small downtown, but there is few bus trips one day. Hotel is far from center (about one hour by walk, 10-20 mins by car).

Beautiful hotel on a wonderful island”
The hotel staff were very courteous and accommodating, and the hotel was immaculate! The only thing that would make this hotel better is some sort of coffee maker in the room with cups, etc. In the morning, there were no facilities to make and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while waiting for the sun to rise. Just a suggestion!

Inconsistent service quality but some excellent staff”
Room size is good. Excellent food served for such hotel rating. Very close to the airport / airport runway : 8 flights a day so not an issue especially when out most of the day Shallow beach perfect for families Infinity pool is nice but a tiny bit small when so many kids in it. Just learn about other Guests routines and you ll be fine. The only three issues are the following: Only a few staff speak decent English and this is an isue when you: 1. Have a payment issue 2. Need to go beyond the limited guest / staff polite chit chat 3. Need to have your room cleaned to western standards on a daily basis Finally make sure that you keep every receipt with the ‘paid’ stamp on it otherwise they will charge you.....not a big deal once you have been warned. Will return.

Good but not great”
I had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious; the room was spacious and clean; the facilities offered by the hotel were amazing; and the staff was friendly. However, a couple negatives was the lack of English speaking employees made the logistics difficult and some false advertisement. They do not offer parasailing and the people they coordinate the event through are very unreliable.

Location is just a few minutes to airport, but is not close to key attractive scenes. But calling taxi is very easy, we can ask hotel or restaurant to call. I am satisafied with the hotel overall including the breakfast and swimming pool and especially all the staff. You almost can see them working from the early morning to late at night every day with very good attitude and they are willing to help as much as they can. thanks for the hotel staff again!

I really enjoy the stay at the hotel. We really wanted to stay away from town and alone to relax. Even thou it was in the middle of nowhere, there is a free and town bus which stops in front so it was comfortable. The personel was really kind, but please note that English skills here a limited, and in my case basic Japanese really helped. Outstanding breakfast with a view.

Friendly and pleasant hotel for families”
Situated next to the beach with nice pool and gardens. Friendly staff who accommodated our requests for extra bedding and ancillaries without question. Hotel is on bus route and so access to key areas of island is easy and cheap. Hotel food was a little pricey but breakfast was superb. We would definitely stay again.
