Wonderful place and excellent staff”
If you're looking for an awesome place where you can unwind, relax, and get some much-needed vitamin sea, then look no further: Altamare in Mabini (Batangas) can give you the experience you're craving for. And it's only around 2 hours away from Manila! We stayed here (for the 2nd time!) last July and had a truly memorable stay. As usual, the staff members were super friendly and generous in helping us get settled in, and were consistently quick to address our requests throughout the weekend. Plus points to them for also helping us book our island hopping activities and arrange for a yummy "paluto" birthday dinner! We stayed in a bigger suite this time—much better than the last room we had—which had a fantastic view of the sea and the surrounding islands! Waking up each day was truly a big treat, as you feel the breeze gently flowing into the room. The room (and bathroom) was spacious and clean, and had all the basic items for a comfortable staycation. One thing to note is that Altamare's beachfront is not your typical swimming beach. As it is located in a bay area close to several dive spots, you won't find fine or even fair-colored sand in huge amounts. Beyond the beach however is a paradise with beautiful corals and fishes of many colors. That's the real gift of the place, seeing nature at its best, untouched and protected. In terms of food (in general), Altamare has a good selection of menu items, albeit the dishes can be a bit pricey. We recommend the beer-battered fish and the umami chicken for groups of 3-4 members! Overall, our stay was a 5/5 and we are definitely going back soon! Special note: Altamare takes COVID-19 seriously. They are strict with safety requirements and protocols. It's a place where you'll feel safe.

Worry - free vacation”
It was a great experience for me and my family as we stay at Altamare Dive and Leisure Resort. First and foremost, the staff (from their Manager to Nick of front desk, chef, waiters and housekeeping) were all working really hard to keep the guests happy at the same time making sure safety protocols were practiced. We were able to get an upgrade at a very fair price that made our stay even better. It was a cozy deluxe room, with our balcony overlooking the beach and the infinity pool. Although the food choices on the menu was a little limited especially if you have a toddler, they offer 'paluto' of your food choice, you may also do an advance order if you want something extra special. The way from the parking to the reception is a bit tricky because you have to go down several flight of stairs so be ready to walk down. Tip to Travellers. Book a room at the lowest level, usually deluxe rooms and suites to get easy access to the pool and beach. But if you would like a good view of the beach, just make sure you are ready to go up and down the stairs. Our 3 night stay was all worthy as the beach was clean, clear water though the shore was a little rocky (having a beach shoes with you will make it easier). Best for snorkeling and kayaking activities. Definitely highly recommended!

Found our "go to" resort in Batangas”
Stayed here last Nov 19 to 23, 2020 to celebrate my husband and I's birthday and we can say that this is one of our best staycations so far. The resort is very beautiful and definitely, all the staffs are really very pleasant. Kudos to the manager, Sir Ray ,and his team as we really felt well taken cared of and we really felt the warm accommodation from them. The food is also great! We loved the Bagoong Pasta! They also have free flowing coffee!!! This is the resort if you want to both chill and have water activities. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The infinity pool is perfect! But at the same time, this place is suited for those who loves snorkeling and diving. The corals which you can see just by swimming in the beach is really beautiful!! Now my husband and I are already planning on when we will be coming back! Thanks again altamare!!

Pros: - Value of money is definitely a YES. - Parking is spacious - Staff are friendly and accommodating - Place is well-maintained and well-lit - Food is acceptable - Coffee is unlimited - Beach towels are provided - Snorkels, reef shoes, and kayak are free to use - Rooms are clean - AC is cold - WiFi is tolerable and reaches the 6th floor - Given that Anilao is a dive site, Altamare has a small white/fine sand area. - Nice area to snorkel - 5th and 6th floors offer the BEST ocean views. Cons: - Not advisable for people with walking challenges and Inactive Senior citizens due to the flight of stairs you need to traverse. You've been warned: 250+ steps from the parking to the ground floor is going to be quite an exercise. Get the lower rooms if you want to push through, drawback is you would lose the best view offered by 5th and 6th floors. - Water heater doesn't heat that much. - No additional door locks

Fantastisk”
The place is breathtaking not only because of the steps you need to cross to get to the resort proper but also the view of the sea, mountains and islands you can gazed upon. Food is superb and delectable. I suggest you order early or ask for reservation as the serving time usually takes long most especially during peak hours. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. The bathroom are clean as well and has a good water supply. The staff are hospitable, accommodating, honest and very courteous. We accidentally left our son's tablet in our room after we checked out and went back home. As soon as I reported it, the staff headed by Sir Edgar from the reception immediately looked for it and found it. I received it the same day. Our experience with Altamare and its people will surely make us come back for more.

Worth the Travel”
Food: There’s not much from the menu, but I’ll advice to try their seafood dishes and their pasta too, its really good, travellers usually order for chicken/pork bbq like we did and it didnt made us happy since we usually love flavorful bbqs. Good thing we tried their seafood dishes and we love it, if you’re budget conscious then opt to order those per meal seafood dish than paluto. We enjoyed their cocktail drinks too. Location: It’s far but it got the best view i think from those nearby resorts. Even almost right beside of one of the most expensive one there. Go for weekdays/up to weekdays from weekend if possible, so you’ll almost feel that the pool and beach is exclusive for you. Price: Very price worthy, the experience and view is more than what you’ll pay for. Food price is reasonable knowing that its seems to be really far from market or even the nearest convenience store(10-12km). Staff: Approachable and proactive especially those from the resto. Note: Going down from parking to the rooms/resto/beach is really tiring so you should be prepared to trek :D to walk I mean (240steps). Better stay for at least 2nights. We would have enjoyed it more if we stayed for 3nights though. Book as soon as possible bec they’re always fully booked. Enjoy!

Amazing ocean view and friendly staff! ”
Adults are required to have negative antigen test results before check-in which somehow gives us some level of peace of mind during our stay. The vicinity is filled with plants, my personal favorite are the bunny ears cacti. 🌵 The stairs going down to the resort was quite an exercise but i thought that the extra wide steps were made for safety and to provide enough space for the guests to stop and breathe while enjoying the scenic view. We booked the Suite room, very spacious with 2 queen beds and 1 sofa day bed that can accommodate 4-5 pax. It has a balcony with an amazing view of the ocean, i can stay there while reading a book, eating or doing nothing, just stare on the relaxing view of calm ocean waves and amazing sunsets. The resort has friendly and accommodating staff which is, in my honest opinion, a big factor to consider whether i would come back or not. The restaurant looks very decent with indoor and outdoor seating but i hope the menu has more options like green salad and veggies or probably all day breakfast. All in all, my husband and I would consider going back to the resort and probably would bring more family members. It was a quick but relaxing and enjoyable 3d2n stay.

The titles say it all”
Very clean and comfortable resort Nice place, good price great location especially for family with young ones. Highly recommended. Modern hotel, great area , with great price I would say the titles say it all, a very pleasant well located (with unique 200 steps) hotel with friendly , helpful staff especially the manager. The manager is the heart of this wonderful resort. The hotel is very modern looking and is of a high standard , I could not pick fault with anything, very unique resort on the cliff , the rooms, lobby, reception were all kept in a clean and welcoming way, complimentary breakfast was a delight. They would treat you like kings and queens, princesses and princes.

Exhilirating Vacation”
Chose the resort due to fantastic reviews here in Agoda. The beach is accessible and so clean! You can jump right in and snorkle near the shore, we brought our own snorkeling gears for hygiene purposes. We also had fun kayaking where paddle and kayak lent for free. Overall a very good family stay! Rooms are so spacious and clean, and gives you privacy away from the noise of neighboring rooms. Be prepared to climb 200+ stairs when going home tho! This is not for the faint of heart lol, you can be sure people who come here have the lung power to go for it :))

Awesome and safe COVID getaway trip”
celebrated my birthday weekend with my 5 year old son in Altamare. manager and staffs are all very accommodating. rooms are comfortable and the view from the room is amazing! there are so many steps going down the resort and there is no elevator. the reef there are already damaged which is sad. I believe that this is because guests have been stepping on them. the place is covid free. you need rapid/swab test result before entering Mabini Batangas. my son and I had the best time. I wish we could havr stayed longer

This place is a gem. Very relaxing and quiet. Wind blowing the whole day while guests sit by the seashore, right under the big trees and enjoying a super nice view of the ocean. So relaxing we managed to put aside our gadgets and just stared at the sea and mountains for hours. 5-star service and accommodation. Buffet breakfast is good. Food at the restaurant is also good but quite pricey and not much choices. Parking is not a problem. Room was very modern and comfy including the bathroom. The hotel also provides booking for island hopping and snorkling. The only caveat is the long stairway going down from the parking to the resort and vice versa. Anywhere between 250 to 300 long but lite steps with 3 rest areas along the way. The hotel crew were there to assist and carry our stuff. This will be a serious concern for people who cant climbs seniors and disabled. Restaurant closes at 9pm so make sure you have everything you need if you plan to stay out late. Highly recommended.

Stayed with my brother and my senior citizen father for 2 nights and it was the most relaxing time. After parking, there would be a 300-step plunge to the hotel, if you are physcically challenged you would definitely have a hard time, whilst you carry your luggage. Other than that, the place was fantastic. Lounge areas at a dock with large trees where you can have your breakfast served right beside the ocean. Restaurant hasnt much selection but food is great, breakfast beside the sea was amazing, there are diving, kayaking, and island hopping activities that can be arranged by the hotel. Wifi is okay to good in the lounge areas, so if you are a digital nomad you can be working right beside the sea, but wifi is best inside the rooms. Cannot wait to go back again! Reasonably priced, staff was acommodating and approachable, pool isnt so big so you must swim early or late if you do not want to be around people much, otherwise just swim on the sea. Go book this hotel now!

Top Resort, perfect diving spot”
I wanted a nice resort with professional diving equipment. So I decided to take a more expensive one and I did not regret at all. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The Rooms are clean and modern. The prices in the restaurant are OK. Outside there aren't any options for food. About 10 minutes drive by tricycle there is a local little restaurant with good BBQ and a nice ocean view. So you actually need to eat at the restaurant. Diving is amazing and the dive master knows the area perfectly. Love it

Had a great time with the resort. Place was superb 👌 Staffs are great and very accommodating. Foods are great but not many variations to choose from but still it's yummy! Room is great, had a very good sleep. Very spacious, we had a very good view from the terrace. Only cons are: the stairs, since you really need to go up and down. It's really a leg day exercise. the sand, well there is literally no sand only rocks (no sand shore, where you can sit). If you are going to swim in the beach, please bring your own beach shoes but you can borrow at the resort if you dont have. Overall, our vacation is superb! we had a great and relaxing time.

Friendly staff, great place and the room is clean,, food is delicious - portion is also good but limited options...I hope they can expand their menu and not just resort to "paluto". The resto closes at 8pm which is really early. No Wifi inside the room so you have to consider this if you want to work from the resort. All in all, I'll still give this a 5 out of 5 rating...really enjoyed my stay here.

Very accommodating GM, friendly and attentive staff, clean and decent rooms, nice bathroom and toiletries, big balconies, warm pool water, value for money since it already involves welcome drinks, breakfast for two, water activities like kayaking and snorkeling, and beachfront. We even left some important documents but the GM Sir Drex was very accommodating and sent it to us via LBC. We had a great stay at Altamare. We will definitely go back! Thank you! 💯

Perfect getaway”
We really enjoyed our stay, it was beyond our expectations. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Everyone followed safety protocols. My only concern was the food, they had limited options, it was a bit pricey but it was delicious. The rooms were clean, and spacious, though the water heater was not working. The food menu need to upgrade”
I love everything of the hotel, except the food menu. The food range is very limited. I would love to come back if they upgrade the food menu. It doesn't have any dessert. The breakfast is served cold everyday. Some ideas like pasta, pizza, sausage, curry, burger or some other easy Western food choices that the chef can just cook in batch and keep in the freezer. I understand this time is difficult for everyone, but we are tourists, we are on a holiday, it means we are happy to spend money. Please give us more food options to spend :) Anyway, we had a great time there!! Would recommend to friends and come back again!

It was my sister's first time to go out after the pandemic, and she is asthmatic, we did not want to dine with a lot of other guests. Thankfully, Nick of the dining staff was very accommodating and brought the food to the veranda of our suite room. The suite room is very spacious and was comfortable enough for a couple with a 12 year old and 8 year old children
