I would come back again”
I really loved this hostel. Apart from the good location, it is extremely clean and has all the facilities, including free laundry (you only pay for the soap). the staff is really kind (thanks Cara) and super mindful (the do their own enzyme soap; used for the kitchen, laundry and housekeeping; they also have a tiny second hand stand). The breakfast toasts&butter/jam are located on the fridge so if you have an early start on Taroko this is a great thing to keep in mind! I have to say that the bed sheets were incredibly soft. This has been one of my top hostels in a while. The rooms are spacious enough and include a small table if you want to do some work or reading. The rooms were very quiet when I was there (appreciated). Last but not least, they have a vey cute guidebook of hualien with good recommendations on sightseeing and specially food: local places (incl. nice Vegetarian restaurants). I would definitely go back to this hostel if I were back in Hualien.

Comfortel worthy of its name.”
When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm ambiance, quietness, and an immense hospitality from the host. It barely occurred to me to call it just a hostel, nothing fancy and probably rambunctious, but my first and lasting impression of the place would suggest otherwise - a safe and comfortable haven that radiates proper solitude of a home, and minimally designed with sustainability in mind. The host is amicable, almost like a family friend who demonstrated commendable hospitality and toured me around in flex of what the place has to offer. Her smile never left her expression. Overall, Bayhouse Comfortel deserves its title and it will be very likely I shall come back to this place when I visit Hualien again soon.

Charming place with amazing staff”
Great location, close to the train station and the start of the main street. My room was clean and it had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and it had curtains that blocked light effectively. The common area has a charming, welcoming vibe. There's also a computer, a little kitchen and a laundry room. Staff members were EXTREMELY kind and helpful, I got great tips and we shared some nice conversations. I'm definitely going back to this place in the future!

Amazing eco-friendly, youth hostel with the best staff!! ”
We were a family of 3, the staff/managers greeted us warmly everytime we entered and helped us with our needs. The hostel implemented many cute initiatives e.g. Recycling corners, self-service first-aid/Healthcare supplies corner, charity shop(up to you to pay), fruit compost, postcard writing service (proceed goes to support local businesses/farmers) and even provided a central I Mac for use. Loved this hostel. Will definitely stay again! Only 7 mins walk to hualien train station, scooter rentals available near the station at 100-200NTD, distance to night market was not an issue at all (we were happy to walk 25 mins and sitesee anyway). Thank you for the amazing stay ☺️

Amazing hostel !”
Great location. Quiet alley, 10 min walk from train station and 1 min walk from the beginning of the main street. I extend my stay over there. The stuff were very welcoming, friendly and we had some nice conversations. Nice and clean shared kitchen. The room was really good with shower and toilet and strong ac. I would definitely recommend to stay in this awesome hostel.

I arrived around midnight in the train from Taipei and they helped me to check in late without problems. I really appreciate that! The hostel is very clean and the staff is helpful and nice. The design of the hostel is amazing. With a lot of nice details.

It is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed! The room is big and nice and super clean! The host is also super helpful and friendly. I will come back again if I have a chance. Also, it is near the Hualien train station and also easy to catch the taxi or bus to go to the night market and the beach.

This place is near to the train station and the environment is good. The receptionist was so friendly and she told me about the attractions in Hualien and share interesting stories with me. The room was very clean. I will definitely stay there again. This place was great. Highly recommended!:)

It's near to the station , can walk if you don't have much luggages . I so surprised about so lovely staff and the design , the way they're service are so nice and warm , I wish to have more time to can stay there more . I will comeback .

Comfortable like a home”
This is my third hostel during my long trip, and it's easily the best one I stayed so far (stayed in a total of 5 this year). It's very clean - I gauge this by how the bath floor feels when I shower, and I can tell it's been cleaned often. The owner and cleaner were happy to welcome me. I really liked the manager's energy - I think we have the same personality and way of thinking. I stayed in one of the hostel rooms, and it was by far comfortable. The bunk bed was spacious and I had room to put my stuff around. Location was good! Quite near the train station. It was a bit of a walk to the night market, but the night market itself is placed in the corner of the city. I'd stay here again!

Peaceful place”
Bayhouse is the perfect place to stay at when you want to go and visit Hualien surroundings (Taroko national park) and have an amazing moment. The location is great, very close to the main station. The atmosphere is very peaceful, calm and nice. The host is super friendly, very kind and extremely available for any questions. I warmly recommand Bayhouse hostel!

Great place”
This was a great place to stay. One of the best hostels I have stayed in. The bunks had it's own electricity plug, light and shelf with curtains that went all around the bed for privacy. They also gave you a locker for your belongings. The room was super clean and the common area was quaint and home with lots of recommendations about places to visit. The host Kara was lovely and accommodating despite the language barrier. It is a little far to walk to the main attractions but very near the station. I would recommend this to anyone, especially solo travellers.

I had such a good time in hualien and this hostel that i ended up extending for two extra nights. It’s a very cozy hostel, super clean, nice staff and great location. Can’t be better!

Great stay. Value for money”
Hospitality at its best. Only one street away from the train station. But 2 km from dong da men. But as u walk towards the night Market along zhong shan Road there's just endless food to explore and things to see so i will still opt to walk. The hostel is great. Theres even a postcard corner, charity corner etc. They have good recommendations on where to go /what to eat. The room is excellent. Clean. Spacious. Private bathroom. Adequate toiletries towel hairdryer. Therrs also TV. INTERNATIONAL Sockets. Easy drop key checkout. The stay was excellent. One problem: not for the light sleeper. It's right next to the railway. But it did not bother me.

Super warm hostel in Hualien ”
I have been stay here for about 3 days and after that want to continue stay but unfortunately is fully booked . The hostel are clean, the reception area are full with the useful guide book for review on where , what and also how you can go to eat nearby, travel or transportation so.The receptionist Kara (杜杜) are friendly and helpful, when ask for help she will deliver her best in assist even already after her working hour.

Good hostel near train station ”
Accommodation is very near the train station but far away from the attractions. It's a 30 mins walk from dongdamen market and local buses here are infrequent so location is only good if you don't intend to explore much of the city. Otherwise, hostel has very friendly staff and facilities are good. Room is spacious and clean too. Would recommend!
