The hostel located really near the beach and for sure everyone staying there will visited the beach, but hostel guardians don't even bother to clean up or swiping sands on the floor. They should ask their guests to leave shoes outside the dorm. Also, no locker or place to put your luggage or backpacks.

Even with earplugs I didn't get any sleep because of the other travelers talking late into the night and the thin curtain that covers each capsule. 3am phone calls are not pleasant and you can hear everything since the wood panels are so thin. I liked a lot of things about this place. Great location by the beach and restaurants but seriously only go here if you can sleep through a hurricane.

The staff was incredibly friendly and easy to work with despite the communication barrier. The rooms are very clean and warm in the winter time. They also make breakfast for guests every morning. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for the olympics so I didn’t actually spend much time in the inn. Strictly for sleep. However the capsules were very cozy. They aren’t sealed capsules. Just a curtain that gives u privacy. Though the curtain is only opaque halfway up. If ur in a top bunk it doesn’t matter but ppl can look into the bottom bunks. The beds are a bit hard but that’s a positive for me cause I prefer harder surfaces. And that’s the norm in Korea anyway. Bathrooms were small but clean. The staff gives sandwiches and fish cakes for free for breakfast. I docked it a point for value for money cause I paid 35,000 korean won (roughly 31-32 USD) which is too much but it was during the Olympics so I assume that’s a temporary price. Also the location is fantastic. It’s on the beach and if u have a beachside capsule you will have a nice view of the ocean. If not just get up and check out the communal window.

If you really want just a place to sleep and watch the sunrise this place is perfect! The capsule was clean and the bedding very comfortable. The whole construction was also really stable and has curtains, not like some bunk beds in other hostels. Do yourself and other guests a favour and either clean your shoes or pull them off before getting dirt (read mainly sand) all over the floor (방에서 신발을 벗어야 했었으면 좋겠음). There is no separate entrance, you enter through the restaurant on the first floor (I slept well even they were open until late). I'm quite sure the owners don't speak English (I speak Korean so I couldn't really test it), but rules etc. were also written in English. There are restaurants (mainly seafood and an odd chicken place or two) and some bars, coffee shops and a convenient store around opposite of the beach. If you come by bus make sure to take a picture of the timetable, the buses don't run super-frequently (like once per hour) and not until late at night. Toast was aviable for breakfast in the restaurant as well as some eggs I think (didn't eat there).

Location was good, right on the ocean. They don't have a shoe locker, so people wear shoes into the rooms. That is a problem because there is sand everywhere.

The staffs are awesome”

They are really friendly. They invited me with dinner when I arrived late. There are free milk and eggs, so you can cook yourself in anytime. It's far from the station, but it's close to the beach.

Near the sea. Can watch the sea in the room. Comfortable and clean. To staff: couldn't find you when checking out, hostel fee was placed on the reception desk, hope you can find it!!!

It's just next to Gangmun beach, an small area not much food around and I was unlucky as I booked it way ahead before my stay thought should be cheaper but when I checked on the day I check-in it was half the price I pay only?!.. Was only very disappointed by this, after all is an quite side of the beach than in Amnok beach.

High Hopes...Great Disappointment”

My friend wanted to try a capsule hotel and this kind of felt more like a hostel or a sleeping room in a jjimjilbang (Korean bathhouse). The cubicles are not individually temperature-controlled and we went on January 1st so it was cold. My heating blanket did not work and the staff didn't alert us that there was an overhead unit that could be switched on so our side of the room was freezing. The continental breakfast was literally eggs (you had to make them yourself), bread, and milk. The toilet was dimly lit and the sleeping cubicle didn't provide a heavy enough blanket for warmth. I caught the mother of all colds due to the facilities and general dismissiveness of the staff. Would recommend in the summer if you're drunk and need somewhere to sleep it off, and NOTHING else.

The dustiest guesthouse!”

I do travel a lot and this place was dustiest and dirtiest inn I have ever seen. I feel bad writing this review but I was just so surprised how dirty the place was. It says breakfast is included but Trust me you want dear to have a breakfast there. I ended up buying breakfast outside. It’s very sad because location is good and if only they clean the place. Every corner was full of dust and spider webs !!!!! Please clean the place !!!

3 minutes walking distance to Gangmun Beach, and no.1 location for watching the sunrise. However, only 2 bathroom and toilet for 20 girls, it's definitely not enough.

What I love abt this guesthouse : -It is located in Gangmun Beach area (less than 100m to the beach) - The capsule was comfortable and small window overlooking the beach was plus point. You can see beautiful sunrise from your bed. - Breakfast was enough for me (Bread, butter, jam, eggs, cereal, milk and orange juice and coffee) -Check in was so quick and easy - Easy to find -Toilet and shower room are clean also shampoo, body wash and clean towel were provided - Alot of coffee shops, convenience store and seafood restaurant nearby But note that, - It is quite far from Bus terminal or KTX station - Also public transport are limited. You need to follow the schedule as it did not run frequently

Friendly and a Wonderful Location! ”

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Capsule Inn twice now (once in the winter and this last time at the height of summer). Both times I had a great experience staying there! As a solo traveler, it's always difficult to find lodgings that are a good value for money. Capsule Inn is located just off the beach - I could walk about 20 yards and be on the sand! There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in the area as well. I found the sleeping quarters to be clean and airy, with a fun beachy theme, well-heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and while I speak a little Korean, it was helpful to be able to communicate in English about some more complicated questions. I will definitely be staying at the Capsule Inn on my next trip to Gangneung!

혼자 불쑥 바다보고싶어 떠난 여행이었는데 바다뷰는 볼 수 있어 좋았어요. 커튼 덕분에 아늑했고 침구류도 다 뽀송하고 깨끗했네요. 강문해변과 진심 30초거리입니다. 나가서 아침 일출 보는데 사람 정말 없고 그 넓은 바다 전세낸 것 마냥 정말 좋았어요 ㅠㅠ동화가든까지도 걸어서 7-8분이면 가요. 그날 몇명이 예약했는지 또 어떤 분들이랑 방쓰냐에따라 만족도는 다르겠지만 인원이 많을땐 새벽에 수시로 드나드는 사람들 문소리때문에 약간은 거슬릴 정도이니 귀마개 챙기시길 추천요 번호키라서 열고닫을때 기계음이 신경쓰이기 시작하면 꽤나 거슬릴수도있음 근데 원래 그런거 신경쓸거면 호텔가야졍

침실은 금액대비 깔끔하고 편리한 편이지만 공용사용공간 관리가 잘 안되어 있어요.”

두번째 방문이였구요, 첫 방문때는 금액대비 만족스러웠었는데 이번에는 공용사용공간이 관리가 잘 되어있지 않아서 이래저래 사용하기 좀 꺼려지더라구요. 어제 조식에 사용한 계란 껍질 한무데기가 다음날 아침까지 방치되어있고, 후라이팬은 싱크대에 내동댕이 쳐져 있고, 테이블은 더럽고... 조식은 깔끔히 포기하고 일찍 나왔어요. 물론 사용자들 책임도 크지만 오너분이나 알바(가 있는지는 잘 모르겠지만)분이 거의 상주하지 않으셔서 관리가 전혀 안되는걸로 생각되네요. 위치와 침실이 좋은편이라 안타깝지만 저는 재방문의사 없습니다.

침실도 아늑하니 좋고 위치도 바닷가 근처라 좋았습니다. 교통은 불편 감수해야하구요 식당이 잘 정리되지는 않아 너저분? 한 느낌은 있었지만 그냥 무난무난 했습니다. 주인분들 친절하세요 화장실이 좀 불편했어요 방안에 화장실 2개인데 새벽에 쓰기엔 시끄럽고.. 프라이버시가 좀...없음 그거빼곤 대체적으로 만족스러웠습니다.
