View like none other”
Our motel unit no 3 was exceptionally clean. Comfy bed, easy as parking. Friendly staff. Free WiFi & sky channels. Fully equipped kitchen and BBQ outside. Best of all - the view!! Probably the best of all accommodations in Lake Tekapo. Wanna swim? Just walk down. If not, it's super relaxing to read a book over coffee and spend your entire day there.

Fantastisk”
It's quite far from the restaurants and the bus stop, but it's very close to Tekapo Springs. The lounge is very cozy and has an amazing view and it made the stay worthwhile. The outside area is also a great place for stargazing.

my room is next to the door to the tent zone and it's loud”
my room was next to the door to the tent zone; it was loud when ppl open the door. though i wasn't in the room often, it's an obvious defect and they should fix it. my room and restrooms are clean. 20-min walk to the touring site and the Japanese restaurant. btw there are some hares on the roads at nights, so drive slowly.

Situated right on the water the hostel is super relaxing and facilities great. The kitchen can get crowded so get in there early.

Clean, clean, very clean.”
A room, a kitchen and a bathroom were really clean! Staffs are friendly but a little bit far from the bus stop. (Takes 20mins to walk) And don’t follow the map when you find the backpackers to check-in. The reception and the backpackers are two deffrent buildings. The reception is on the way before(around 100m before) the backpackers.

Nice big common area with a view of the lake - clean and secure rooms and a fair sized kitchen. Quite expensive for what it is but I think everywhere in Tekapo is!

for a sedentary person like me, place was a bit far. around 14-16 mins walk from bus drop off point. good thing the weather was fine during my stay there so walking was never a problem.

Good but unlucky as thete was bed bugs in my bed. I told the statf and they are checking that it is all ok now. Amazing location but a little bit of walk like 15 minutes from Bus station if you have lugages and no car. Good if you want to do hit spring, 5 minutes walk only.

It's the cheapest option i can get for lake tekapo accommodation. Location wise it's awesome but if u can afford single room pls don't take shared dorm.. ppl sleep on your bed and there's no privacy.

Unfriendly staff”
Laundry machine was broken during my visit. The first reaction from the staff was that they were angry that 'I broke it'. Problem was, it was their laundry machine not draining the water away. Probably can try looking at their own mistakes before blaming other people.

Great location but rooms smelled a lot and wifi wasn't free. There also wasn't any reception at the area so receiving and making calls had to be done elsewhere

Good place overall, but I had a bad experience because of an annoying family. Someone was on my bed when I was about to sleep. Imagine having a long driving day and you finally arrived, hoping for some good rest but someone occupied your bed, and the room is fully booked, that is super frustrating! One of them left the room in the end but taking away the pillow & blanket leaving alone the thin linen and I had to get pillow & blanket from the lounge! And then the kids were slamming the door, playing videos aloud of fart in the early morning. Come on, this is a shared dorm, pay respect to others otherwise you get the whole room reserved but not hoping there will be no one coming and you get the whole room to yourself. That is terrible! It's a shame to know there's actually such disrespectful kiwis. I have been meeting all good people along the way. Sorry if I misused this space. Perhaps I should put my stuff on the bed next time.

Great place to stay”
Stayed in the twin room with shared kitchen and toilet/shower facilities. Room was very clean, warm and right across the road from the lake where you can go canoeing. Kitchen facilities were also great and not very busy in the late afternoon. Highly recommend this place, we wish we stayed longer than one night.
