Anniversary Trip ”
We visited Daffodil Hotel and spa for our anniversary. The rooms are spacious and the interior very well maintained. The views over Grasmere are spectacular; even on an overcast day! The gentleman in concierge is a wealth of knowledge and provided us with ideas on things to do and places to visit during our stay. The spa is a nice luxury to have after all the hiking. The hydropool along with the sauna and steam room are all great. Breakfast is average unfortunately, and the service needs some improvement. Nonetheless we enjoyed ourselves and may be back in the future.

Lovely location by the lake. Short walk into grasmere village”
The daffodil hotel is built on the edge of a lake with wonderful views from some of its rooms. My partner and I stayed in a junior suite. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a shower and bath and was furnished with Milton brown gels. King sized bed was soft. Suite includes sofa and tv in "lounge area". Breakfast was included and consisted of full English breakfast in buffet form as well as cereals and toast, juices extra. You were able to order extras from the menu (i.e. Poached eggs) and fish based dishes were provided at an extra cost (kippers and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs). Customer service patchy owing to understaffing. They have two bars in the hotel and reception had to call a member of staff down to serve me drinks as there wasn't a permanent staff presence there. The hotel's ground floor has its own terrace area outside which overlooks the lake. Very beautiful. Customer service at breakfast and during check in was friendly and efficient. Would stay again

Surprise Birthday Treat”
We had a large room, overlooking the lake, with French doors and Juliet balcony - huge comfortable bed and nice decor. One small niggle, there's very little hanging space in the wardrobe. It was fine for us as we were only there for a short break, but for a longer stay I would want a bit more. Great food in the restaurant, besutifully cooked and presented, and the staff were without exception helpful and friendly. Spa facilities amazing, BUT you need to book in advance for treatments. I was disappointed not to be able to have a massage as they were booked up nearly a week ahead! Overall, a great experience and I would recommend this hotel, nestled in its beautiful setting in Grasmere.

Great hotel in scenic location. 10 min walk into grasmere which was really nice and good choice of cafes and restaurants. On site spa was great. Perfect relaxing getaway

Quiet hotel right at the lake side. ”
The hotel is right at the lake side, very quiet location, beautiful surroundings , not far from the village, where are plenty of restaurants , coffee shops, souvenir shops, etc. Rooms are specious , clean and comfortable. The spa in the basement is just superb! Jet streams, Jacuzzi, UV steam room, sauna - all to the best highest standard! Breakfast is excellent!

Ultra modern hotel in a fab location”
Lovely hotel and Spa. Staff helpful and friendly. All newly refurbished in an ultra modern decor; would have preferred one or two traditional touches in this old Lakeland building however. Lacks a bit of atmosphere. A log fire in the sitting room would make a huge difference.

Walking break”
Lovely entrance to hotel large car park Room was ready at 12 30 Chocolates and card for my birthday were a nice welcome Chatted to Sarah the pastry chef on the car park when we got back from the walk we had hot chocolate and cookies waiting in our room from her. Negatives are the slippy tiles in the spa and poor breakfast but would definately return at the right price.

The hotel, rooms, spa, grounds and sceenary were lovely places to relax in. The evening meal was fantastic value and the wine selection reasonable. The only con of the whole trip was the breakfast. Not the best

Bliss”
This hotel was a wonderful refuge from the cold, wet day outside with its large bedroom that was very comfortably equipped with a king size bed, while the bathroom had very fluffy towels. Throughout the hotel are very quirky sketches that adorn the walls. There was a real sense of humour here. The hotel is set on the side of a lake and there was a very attractive outdoor area that would have been blissful in better weather. Food in the dining room was delicious and attractively presented.

Just fantastic ”
It’s the first time we have returned since the floods . Wow the entrance is beautiful and sleek . Stayed in a lake view room which was fantastic, excellent views over the Lake. Room was lovely and clean , bathroom the same . Didn’t eat in the evening at the hotel but breakfast is still the best buffet ever

the dafodil hotel and spar needs improoving sumwat ”
the staff call you gye all the time and .I was told .on many auction's that I am surrey I don't speak English .and the spar pool was like a 18-30 holiday camp when the wedding party took over and it ruined the special time for me and the wife .the staff did not take control .and you don't get dressing gowns and slippers on arriving in the spar you get that better level off service at the Rothay garden spar hotel and you get your luggage taken to your room every time . improvements must be made for me to return . ps when the waiter takes your breakfast from you when you are still eating off your plate it puts you in a negative frame off mind.

Expectations exceeded ”
Arriving late after bad traffic we were instantly impressed with the service as we were offered sandwiches even though the restaurant had closed. Our room had been upgraded & was just beautiful. We woke up to a stunning lake view & delicious breakfast which really set us up for the day. All the staff we encountered were helpful, polite & efficient and we were genuinely sad to leave. Cannot wait to return soon! Thank you.

We also thought that their was a swimming pool but this wasn't the case. We didn't want to use the spa facilities but would have use the pool.
