Dalriada

The property was great and finished to a very high standard. The facilities were immaculate, the fold down table in the bedroom was perfect and the bed was very comfortable. The view from our window in “The Loft” was breathtaking and the wonderful accomodation made for the perfect getaway. The hosts were lovely, very helpful and when they asked about your day it seemed like they were genuinely interested in your adventures. Robin’s knowledge of the island meant we headed to Neist Point Lighthouse which was a highlight of our trip. Upon arrival we were given homemade banana bread courtesy of Sally, which was delicious and rivalled even my grandmothers. When we return to Skye in the future we will absolutely be staying at Dalriada, it was fantastic.

That we didn’t stay longer! Something we will make-up for in the future.

Robin and Sally were excellent hosts, they made myself and my sister feel at home. There was a freshly baked cake in my room on arrival and the room was spotlessly clean! The breakfast was wonderful! Eggs from their hens, home cured ham, fresh fruit salad and cereal with homemade yoghurt. Toast, fresh warm rolls and very tasty marmalade. It was the best breakfast by miles during our eight day holiday. When we were ready to leave Robin kindly offered to take us into Portree rather than calling a taxi. An absolutely wonderful place to stay! Thank you to both of them for being so welcoming.

LOVED EVERYTHING! Where do we even start… Sally and Rob have been super lovely right from the beginning. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are so incredibly sweet and helpful - even offering some help when I was struggling to locate the infamous “Hairy Coos”! The loft we were staying at was soooo lovely, everything was provided and includes great views from the window! Breakfast was out of the world! The hosts are so incredibly talented - breakfast, baking treats, super delicious homemade strawberry jam, woodwork in their home!!, etc etc etc.. even gave us some sweet gifts when we left 😭! I’ve never written a review this long but I could keep going on! Would easily be our choice of place again when we do return to Skye! 10 star rating isn’t quite enough for this lovely couple and their place! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This property was one of the nicest guest houses we have ever stayed in. Upon arrival there was a tray of coffee and tea along with homemade treats in our room. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast in the morning was exceptional. The host also took time to point out things to see in the isle of Skye as well as little towns to stop in. There was a common sitting room as well that we could use. The host also reached out to us and made sure we had dinner reservations as restaurants are hard to get into in the town of Portree. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time staying at Dalriada. Our room was really great, it was spacious, bright and cosy. Breakfast was really delicious, and they offer a lot of options to choose from. Sally and Robin were absolutely wonderful, warm and friendly, and they gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and also places to visit around the island. They also added some measures to keep us all safe for the Covid-19 situation. They wear masks all the time, and for breakfast, each room had their own designated time slot, and the tables were far apart. Hand sanitizers were provided at the entrance and to be used upon entry. We felt very safe staying there at Dalriada. The location of Dalriada is great as well, simply a 5-minute drive from the town of Portree.

The room was lovely, clean and modern (bathroom looks very new). You find a welcome package in your room with chocolate bar, pieces of cake and hot chocolate instant. The hosts are very friendly. The good breakfast was continental, nearly german with crusty rolls, ham, cheese, cherry tomatoes and boiled egg. We liked pretty much the smoked salmon and the fresh berries for breakfast as well. The B&B is a 5-minutes-drive by car away from Portree, just ahead the main street. And it takes only further 10 minutes by car to get to the parking for the famous Old Man of Storr.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was honestly such a dream. The location is impossible to beat, right outside Portree and very close to The Storr. The room was cozy and very well furnished. Sally and Robin went out of their ways to make us feel welcome and our stay comfortable. We were here for our honeymoon and they wrote us a card and left us snacks when we arrived. The breakfast was delicious and Robin gave us recommendations for what to see on the Isle of Skye which we took and were so glad we did. Perfect B&B experience!

This was an exceptional place to stay. Sally and Robin were great hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable. Location was a little out of Portree but great views, on the road to Old Man of Storr. Continental style breakfast was a great start to the day - each day we asked for less as the portions were so good. Served in a great room with a vista rather than just a view. Room was comfortable, and clean. Daily treats were really welcome! Opening the curtains to see the hens at the other side of the lawn.

The location of the property was a 5 min drive from the main square in Portree. Sally and Robin who own the property were so kind and lovely and really made our stay better, leaving cake for us each day and giving us lots of info on arrival. They left lovely notes on our breakfasts as we took them with us, a personal touch that doesn’t go unmissed! The land and views at the property were gorgeous and everything was so clean with Covid measures in place. When we return to Skye I will be staying here for sure!

Robin and Helen were not only running this B n B as a business they have a passion to make the customers feel welcome. We feel like from home to home. The place is immaculately clean. Breakfast has a quality food. They allowed us to take our left over breakfast as a packed lunch. Robin has made sure talking all customers in the morning to give any tips for Skye. They made us feel like we are visiting friends’ house but not the B n B. It’s one of the B n B we will remember for a long time and go back again. Thank you Helen and Robin.

Sally and Robin were amazing hosts! Upon arrival we were treated to some home baked goodies! The rooms were extremely clean, had a wonderful view of the hills and their garden. It also was perfectly located on the isle of skye. Portree city center is about a 25 min walk- so you need to be okay with this. Sally and Robin gave us a good tip for walking there along the sea. They made our whole stay extra special! I would highly recommend you stay here.

Located just out of Portree town with great views. The cleanliness is great and owners were friendly and helpful, tasty treats were great, breakfasts were lovely, fresh fruit salad excellent. The Loft which is the room we stopped in was immaculate, great shower, great views, fridge which was great. The bed was comfortable, pristine white bedding and towels. Would definatley revisit and recommend to all.

There is nothing to dislike

The breakfast was excellent with ham, cheese, tomatoes and fresh fruit plus more. Sally and Robin were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Robin was very informative on places to visit. There was home made cake every day and the room was very comfortable. Despite Covid restrictions everything was well organised and we were made to feel very welcome.

There were no faults or complaints.

We stayed in the loft and the room was lovely and clean and COVID safe - it felt like having our own little flat. Sally and Robin kindly left a generous amount of breakfast options for us, which was very handy before we set off for the day; the homemade banana bread in particular was delicious. The B&B was a short car ride to the town centre and it was easy to get around to see Old Man of Storr ect. Would highly recommend staying here.

Sally and Robin were great hosts and provided very helpful tips for stuff to do and see and also restaurant recommendations. The common area is very comfortable with great views towards the Cuillins. Our room was also very nice and included a tray of teas and chocolates. As an additional treat, every day delicious homemade baked goods were waiting for us when we returned to the house. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

We were made very welcome from the moment the front door was opened to us. We had a lovely room and Sally brought cakes along to have with our cup of tea. Sally and Robin were perfect hosts. Robin taking time to show us places of interest around the Island on a map, just a shame the weather was not as accommodating.

It was not a real problem, but it is a little way out of town, we could have had a taxi. That said there are a lot of choices for food in Portree. Lots of places to eat in town were fully booked, but we found an Indian restaurant called The Prince of India and were able to just walk in without a booking likewise the next night the Japanese sushi place. Both meals were excellent.

The hosts sally and robin were really great ! Helpful and knowledgeable about the area and they pointed us in the right direction to see everything we wanted to see. The property is beautiful , stunning dining room with fabulous views. Bedrooms newly refurbished, most comfortable beds of our trip !! Lots of refreshments and even home baked cake !! Great breakfast too !!

Just on the outskirts of the town about 1 mile walk into Portree. takes about twenty minutes to thirty minutes to walk depending on your fitness. We were 30 minutes😂.The place was spotless rooms were bright and clean. Plenty of room to park. Continental breakfast was very nice and the coffee was lovely. The hosts were very nice and chatty.

The rooms are extremely clean. The breakfast is fantastic. We especially loved the fruit bowl, the yogurt, the ham, the eggs... My girls highly rated the muffins and cakes our hosts left in our rooms when we first checked in and left on the little tables outside our doors when we came back from our outings. The B&B is very near the old man of storr (about 10 minutes drive) so we could easily catch the short lived good weather.
