I brought my dads staff for a bonus trip. We highly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were simple but clean. It is directly next door to the Whale shark excursion site. The restaurant had great food and a wide selection plus WiFi in the restaurant area. The staff was AMAZING...they treated our large group like family. It was very appreciative. We will be back!

Right on the beech this place is perfectly situated, the rooms were fine although small! Only criticism would be the bar and restaurant shut really early but I think this may have been to it being a quiet time, however not a huge problem as other bars and restaurants within walking distance

Nice place to stay before whale sharks viewing”
Rooms are so small but nothing more is needed for 1 night staying. 50 meters from Donsol Dive center. there is a cafe in a hotel, you can have a meal during all the day there. Beach is not good for swimming because of many jellyfishes near the beach. but you can rent a kayak there. Rent flippers here! it is cheaper than in Dive center (100php vs 150php for pair)

Right beside the tourism center”
Stayed here for 2 nights, off-peak so the place was a bit empty (which was great) Pros: Warm staff, clean room, food choices at the restaurant were plenty and delicious, beachfront Cons: Not much to do other than whale shark watching (which is great if you just want some peace and quiet), no TV, Wi-fi is weak and limited, beach is not really developed for commercial use (jellyfish, some trash)

I stayed coz i got no choice they dont want to refund my booking for 2 rooms”
When i booked on this hotel, I filter pool. When i arrived there is no pool. I called agoda about the issue coz during my booking i did filter must have pool. Agoda was accommodating me about the refund, but the owner insisted no refund. Without any considerations on my disappointments. The beach is dirty, my cousin got stung by a box jelly fish. No sign of warning about the beach situation. The location of hotel is clean, but that doesnt mean that you dont have to care for guest safety. I was there with my cousins who came from states, and it was disappointing where we end up. Agoda have to review on their no refund policy, especially in cases like this.

No-go in off season”
Wouldn't come back. Since it was off season, I was the only guest and felt it. Nobody cared about whether I get something to eat (no choice of meals) or helped with organizing trips. If it wasn't to the guys from the diving shop next door I would have left on the day of arrival (honestly got everything arranged already). Next to that, I got a lot of ants (and not just the "normal amount of ants for the Philippines" in my room. The mattress was layered with a kind of plastic underneath the bed sheet, that led to happy sweating. Apart from that, the sheets and towels were clean. Location is directly next to the Whale Shark interaction centre (if it's open during season) and across the dive centre. But quite far from the village centre.

It's far from most of the tourist attractions.”
Hotel is far from most of the tourist attractions and the food are just ok and the portion is very small for the price tag of 3 x higher than the restaurant located in the town proper. The manager obviously and literally show off to their foreign guests and some individual guest she obviously knew. Their main restaurant closes too early. The shower pressure is very weak. The water in the sea where this resort situated has too many trash even the nearby resorts to which I tried to stroll during the sundown is littered with plastics and debris that you will not dare to dip in the water. The only nice about this hotel is the quiet surrounding since its far from everything.

The resort is excellent. The General Manager was really attentive to our needs and the needs of other guests. The resort can arrange every activity in the city for you and can even give you tips that will make you feel like a local. The layout of the resort is commendable (we loved that there were quads and trees facing the beach). The rooms were spacious and clean and you even have a porch of your own! The food was good but there can be some room for improvement. The location of the resort is perfect. It is right beside the tourism office, the wharf and the resort is less than 5 minutes from the town center. Thank God, they didn't have basketball courts or videoke machines, it was very serene and quite. I also noticed that there were alot of foreigners in the resort than any other resorts in the area. That's a good sign! We will come and stay again and I absolutely recommend Dancalan to everyone.

Great resort to see the whale sharks”
Dancalan Beach Resort is a great base to see the whale sharks, situated right next to the visitor center and registration offfice. Superfriendly staff, very nice bungalows and a good and very affordable restaurant made our stay there very pleasant. One detail deserves special highlighting: the lawn is just incredibly soft and cushy - applause to the gardener!

The place was very welcoming, once you've arrived at the place you could already feel the stress fading away because of the beautiful and warm location they have (better on summer time because the resort and its facilities is fully operated). We arrived at Dancalan beach resort mid September (because only a few people go to beaches at this time), we had a good time, a place to unwind specially when the sun is up and on sunset. The crew were hospitable and easy to communicate with they respond well to every request we ask for them, we were kind so as they were to us ("do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12). However the beach has a lot of plastics in it, maybe because of trash from the sea that was brought to the shore and no food service was given because there was not enough customers for the food services to function. All in all the experience was great and satisfying for us, but a little more of care and cleaning for the beach because of the trash in it.

Local feel”
VERY difficult to contact, but found my own way to Donsol - to owner's chagrin on my arrival, she said she'd replied... still waiting for that! Dancalan is a pleasant place to stay; relaxed and peaceful. It's the alt-hippy choice of three big resorts right on the beach. The Vitton resort (just one over, past the Whale Shark Centre) has a pool, another restaurant and a bar, if you feel like a change. The staff are very nice, although I was always reminding them to add food/drinks they'd forgotten to put on my bill :) Actually, I kind of regretted that at the end, when I decided to leave a little earlier to check out Legazpi, and the owner wouldn't countenance any kind of refund.... C'est la vie. The whale sharks were amazing and totally worth it.

2-star hotel with a great service”
We travelled as one bunch of family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It has the basic things you need (like towels and clean bedsheets). Although they are only 2-stars, I think they did great in keeping the hotel tidy and comfortable. It's a beachfront resort so you could easily dip in the water anytime you want. They're just n xt door to the tourist office, which is great. The staff were friendly and very helpful in suggesting good things to do /see in the area. Homecooked (Filipino food) meals were also served.

Enjoyed even at low season”
Although we came during low season of whale sharks (Butanding) we still got to enjoy snorkeling as suggested by resort owner. Our rooms were clean and spacious. Had hot shower and very helpful staff. Our booking did not include any meal but the resort owner went out of her way to assist us in our pre-packed food. Wifi is available only at the dinning area but signal was weak. We would go back again especially during whale sharks season which they from March till May.

Great location but very basic”
i enjoyed the location. the hotel is made up of private small bungalows/beach huts on the beach, which is beautiful, and right next to the whalesharking spot. the staff are very friendly. be aware though that the walls of the beach huts are very thin, and i could hear every sound from the room next door which had a couple staying in it. also there is only one male toilet/shower and one female toilet/shower which has to be shared not only with hotel guests but with anyone using the beach and the restaurant. some extra toilets would be a very good idea!! there is no wifi.

comfortable room for budget travelers”
There is not too much to see in Dancalan other than whale sharks. We chose the beach resort because it was cheap and near the sea. It is on the beach, but the large rocks make it difficult to swim. The water is not clear due to the black sand and the amount to plankton in the water (which attracts the whale sharks). We went out 4 times to find whale sharks and did not find any. Bring other things to do here like board games or playing cards because there is not much to do aside from the boat excursions to find the whale sharks.

Nice to sleep, not to eat ”
Location: perfect Comfort: don't expect comfortable seats near the beach, but you can sit here with view on the beach / sunset Food: I do not recommend to eat here, better food at other places, sometimes also for a better price Service: staff was excellent, except for the manager, She does not know how to deal with clients, very unprofessional a few times (shouting to clients, complaining about other clients to us). Room: good room, but note that the cheaper budget rooms can be very noisy

Relaxing,quite, and good food”
When we arrive, we were moved to Amor, another resort also own by the same Family, however, we were not informed about it, after 1 night , we moved back to Dancalan since they have available room by then. Wifi is not available .
