It's value for money if you're a group of 4 sharing a private room. Not so sure if you're an individual going for a single bunk bed. Face washing, teeth brushing area is a metal sink along the corridor. Miso soup and green tea is free. Didn't stay very long, but I can imagine that it's pleasant enough for a longer trip. All the ways I found to get up there involve stairs. It's close to one of the locations for weathering with you (the slope with the fence where they meet at the end. It's near to the station - Tabata station.)

the land level of this place is different with the station. this means you have to look for the stairs (out side of the station) or look for the slope since there is no elevator. but the problem is, gmaps only showed me the stairs route and i had to find the slope myself. but other than that, the place is okay and i had no problem at all

location is ok if you like stairs. inside you have also many stairs so watch out where you step. Sometimes is quite loud here even after midnight. my room was just ok, a little cold and the air condition doesn't work.

near JR train Yamanote line”
I stayed twice at this hostel. the staff was very helpful and can speak english fluently is point plus. I feel like home at this hostel. I like the ambience and neighborhood as well. good for solo travelers and reasonable price with great location if you have JR pass I recommend you to stay at this hostel. keep a good service guys!

Staff speaks very good english and they are very accomodating and smiles a lot. This is close to the Tabata Station but you have to climb the stairs to get to the hotel location. we stayed in teh 1st floor and you can hear the people on the social room. i had a good sleep on this hotel. downside is there are only 2 bathrooms they can be a bit crowded during rush hours or at night.

Convenience & Cost Saving”
Our room is at the first floor, located at the corner of house. Beside is the lounge for the guests to watch TV or dining. There are two bathrooms unit and a unit for ladies washroom. The hostel location is near the station, we took 5mins by walking up the stairs, beside the building. There are many resturants near the JR station. One mini supermarket, one pastries, one bakery and McDonald's as well.... We have no complaints regards to the room, nor services, nor location.

great stay for a backpackers hostel”
the staff is cool and friendly.. i dropped my suica card at the entrance when coming back, but they returned it to me when i going out later. the room have a nice ambiance. it is near to tabata station (south entrance/exit, no escalator). if you have many luggage, take the north entrance/exit (with escalator), and take the curved slopped road to go above the station level. tabata station, is a part of JR yamanote line, so it is a good hub (place to stay) to travel around tokyo.

Ryota, may, mayu was very helpfull, keep up the good work, will wait u guys at Bali Island :-) Stay at Ikidane feel like a home...Happy to see u guys, and will stay at Ikidane again if we back to Japan.

Clean and comfortable hostel”
I really enjoyed this hostel. It had capsule beds with privacy curtains and the beds were super comfortable. The staff were very kind. Small lounge area downstairs with free miso soup! The shower is downstairs. Toilets were clean but very cramped. Also not a social hostel at all during my stay. I'm not looking to party, but would be nice to have a chat with people after a long day exploring.

The staff is so friendly and fixes any problems without hesitation. I wish there were more showers but I never had to wait too long to use one. The blanket and pillow in the dormitory was really comfortable but it is direct onto wood so if you sleep on your side then it can hurt a bit until you get used to the pressure. There was a little shelf above the bed that was perfect for setting things aside that you wanted to use in the morning instead of constantly rummaging through luggage. Super close to the JR station tabata, some stairs to go up but not bad. Lawson is also on the same street. Definitely would stay again but I’ll probably choose the single room next time. :)

The room is neat and comfortable!! I had a nice night and I sleep well. The staffs are very kind, they saw I took two luggage and they told me they can help me taking one of my luggage to the station. Thank you so much!!! I recommend Ikidane house for everyone who wants to come near by Nippori.^^

Cosy place with friendly staff”
First off, the location is great. It's at Tabata station on the main JR line. Just a few stops to Ueno and Tokyo station. There's a 24hr Lawson convenient store nearby Ikidane House - very useful to grab a late night snack or breakfast. I stayed in a private room - it was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Free miso soup at the lounge area too! I do wish there were more bathing and toilet facilities on each level though. But all in all, pretty good value for money I feel.

Welcoming atmosphere & great facilities! Would love to stay again!”
The facilities were great (clean, had hot drinking water, hot water showers, decently spacious capsule rooms, lockers for valuables, good wifi). And I was very glad to be able to set my luggage down because my flight arrived very early in the morning. But my favorite part of the hostel by far was the welcoming community fostered by the hostel workers. I had lots of fun hanging out in the lounge and meeting travelers from around the world. Thanks Ikidane! I will definitely return next time I stay in Tokyo!
