Cozy hotel in a good location”
This is a good option for a few types of travelers: folks on a budget but dont want a dorm, people who want a taste of a Japanese traditional hotel, or people who need a convenient place to stay in a good area. The hotel has everything you need. A kitchen and socialzing area, laundry facilities, just a 3 min walk from the subway station, etc. Rooms are small, but it was more than enough space for me, much bigger than a capsule which are often not much cheaper. I never had a problem using the shared toilets or showers. Everything was clean too. Futon was soft and the blanket was warm. AC worked well too. It had some of the parts of a hostel that I like, without the party vibe. Highly recommended. Please note that this does not have all the services of a true ryokan, but then again its only 1/4 of the price, so one shouldnt expect too much. But they did give a yukata to wear around the hotel! Very nice touch!

A real ryokan”
If you wanna stay in a clean and friendly place where they welcome you as family then Kimi ryokan is for you. A cheap way to experience a traditional japanese accomodation. Every floor has a beautiful real flower arrangement by the washing basins. If you forgot your toothbrush or towel they get you covered. Loved it! Already recommended it to my friends.

Awesome Ryokan!”
Clean Room, friendly staff. Japanese style beds (futon, mattress on the tatami floor) recommended to foreigners who want to try the Japanese way. Very close to Ikebukuro Metro station. Plus you have a nice view on the roof, chilling with a nice drink. I want to go back again!

Great facility, friendly staff”
The building is great, the rooms are comfortable and the shower/restroom facilities pleasant. The traditional bath is a must! Staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate early luggage drop/late check in. Only downsides were that it was a little bit further than expected from the subway, around a 10-15min walk. Also, the walls are thin inside so while you don't get a lot of noise from the outside, you can hear everything inside.

Very nice and great location ”
Very nice place to stay close to everything. Sometimes is a bit cold outside of the rooms but it was very nice in general

Exzellent”
The surrounding area can be a bit seedy at night, but has the cheapest gyoza we found anywhere in Japan, and the staff at this ryokan were all amazing - really friendly, cheerful, helpful, and always around if you needed them. I've already recommended this place to a friend, and will stay here again if/when I make it back to Tokyo. The building has architectural flair, the common area is welcoming and pretty, and I liked the space for storage in our tatami room. There's even a cheap vending machine, and bins for recycling :) Thanks for having us!

Fantastisch”
First time in Tokyo and loved the idea of staying in a Ryokan. Ikebukuro district was great for restaurants open late and a younger crowd. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the JR train station. We used the Yamanoto line to get everywhere in Tokyo. Most of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean but had a strange smell to it. Would still recommend it to others.

very convenient but not the safest area of ikebukuro. love the room. tried finding the ohuro on 3 different floors and couldn't find it. originally thought it was on every floor to begin with. i would go back there again if i have to stay in tokyo.

A cute calm place to stay”
Stayed here for 7 days and it was one of my perfect stay in Tokyo! 6-10 mins walk from Ikebukuro station but on a flat distance wont be a problem! Staff were nice ! The place was clean and the vibe was exactly what i ve been looking for! Staff helped to open allotment on Agoda to book on Sat night which I couldn’t book earlier but she helped me to sort this out! Lovely stay and will definitely comeback for my next Ryokan stay in Tokyo ❤️

Highly recommend”
I had no issues reserving the cypress wood bath for my use during my stay and it was great! The room was also clean and very spacious. The highlight of my stay were the staff. The young man with the glasses and wavy hair went above and beyond to help me book a transfer from ikebukuro to narita airport. He stayed on the phone for a good 15 minutes at least and even printed out my reserved transfer, wrote out directions to the platform, and wrote in Japanese for the company to call him should they have trouble checking the booking.

Great low budget option”
It was a small room, but more than twice as big as a capsule hotel. The room was pretty clean, a little beat up but clean. The futon was okay, I've slept on thinner though so it did the job. walls are paper thin. The first night: no sound. The second night: I had loud neighbors who woke me up at 2:30 am. The bathrooms and showers are both shared, so they weren't the best but not terrible. The location is okay if you're like me and don't mind a little walk to the station. It's not located in the best part of town though. You have to pass through a lot of sketchy streets filled with late-night girls' bars. As a 6'1" male, this didn't bother me too much. I could see how a solo woman traveler may not want to pass through that at night though. Overall: I think it's a great budget option and I would stay there again. It has its flaws, but for me, the price outweighed them all. One thing that did catch me off guard though: there is a curfew from 1:00am-7:00am. NO entering or leaving between those hours. So late-night partying, clubbing, or visiting those girls' bars I mentioned is off the table.

Very nice”
I put 4 stars because pictures and description make it seem like the room has it's own bathroom, which is shared (and I HATE sharing bathroom) I'm pretty sure I didnt overlook that, anyways, staff is lovely, place is cozy, everything very clean, location is great.

Very Friendly”
Friendly staff, nice and easy checkin with support for baggage and stroller parking. The room was great, though bath was not what I expected (expected more of an Onsen so might be my fault). Overall though it was a great place and we stayed on two separate occasions.

Great to stay”
It is the place where you can experience rynkon style ,not really original Japanese but you can experience it through a soft futon bed and nice Japanese bathtub. Staff was really nice, well english communication. Room was nice and clean, a little bit small but it perfectly fit for two. Location is good, not really far from the metro and JR line about 5-10 minute walking. So many restaurants around here, easy to find dinner. I would recommend this hotel to the others.

Budget accommodation but with lots of little extras- yukata and slippers provided, japanese style rooms, nice common area, a Japanese cedar bath available for use. Staff were lovely and very helpful.
