Best location and value ”
Stayed five nights in a Japanese style room. Room is quiet and small but adequate for one person. Sleeping on mattress and tatami mat is comfortable. A few trivial cons: TV has only one local and one English channel; absolutely no view and noisy washroom fan. Opted buffet breakfast is delicious in a sitting area with a great view of a lotus pond and morning exercise locals. Staff at the reception are all friendly and courteous. The use of an onsen "privately" on the top floor is a splendid bonus. Location is unbeatable with everything within walking distance: Ueno Park ( with five museums/art galleries, a temple of national treasure, Ueno Zoo, great park/ponds for strolls, Ueno stations with multiple train routes including one for Narita Airport and endless shopping /dining opportunities like OIOI, AbAb and Matsusakaya.

Near Ueno station, great breakfast”
The front desk staff are very friendly and can speak English very well, they help me when I ask about direction. The breakfast also great, there're Japanese style meal/Western style and buffet for the other day. Also, I can see ueno park from the cafe. I am happy with my room, and would like to stay in this hotel again someday. Thank you Kinuya Hotel!

Highly recommended. Excellent Staff, Cleaning perfect. the place is probably one of the oldest I have seen, really out dated but if you don't mind occasional smell around corridor and lift (not all the time) very basic toilet and shower facilities, it's an awesome place to stay as it is literally right next to airport express station exit and in the centre of shopping / dinning in Ueno.

This hotel is located in a very good place which only few mins walk from Ueno station and easily connect to the Keisei Line from/to Narita Airport. Everyday walk to Ameyayokocho Market, just cross the road. Staff is very nice and their English is pretty good. Good and Clean room for our family.

Great value for money and nice location”
Very convenient location, right across the Keisei Ueno station. Room is also quite spacious according to Tokyo city standards. Staff is very friendly. Even got a handy phone for use which is very useful, especially if you want to make restaurant reservations.

The room clean and closed Ueno Kaisai Station and Ameyoko Market. The place very convenience travel by Kaisai Skyliner from Narita Airport.

Room is clean. Interior is old but it is not a problem. Friendly & helpful staff. Very tasty breakfast. Ueno station is 5 minutes by foot.

Good location budget accommodation friendly staff”
Great location next to jr station, kensei ueno station and near the metro. Walking distance to many museums and art galleries, zoo etc being next to Ueno Park. Great perks with being able to use a free mobile phone with data included while out and about. Room was a little musty but I got used it . I think the rooms over looking the park would be better as the windows/doors open.. amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, hair brush, flannel, toothbrush set etc, hot water urn in the hallways. Loved the free massage chair. They have a private bath but I didn’t ultise.

Excellent location ”
Bed a bit hard for me but otherwise very good. Excellent location opposite keisei-ueno station and near Ueno park with museums etc. Hint: ordinary Keisei-ueno train from Narita is much cheaper than Skyliner though longer -about 80 minutes.

Everything is perfect. Just few steps away from train station. Walkong distance to Ueno hotspots area. Great hospitality from the hotel itself. I have no complaint at all.

Quaint little hotel ”
Rooms were slightly bigger then the average. It may be an “old” hotel but everything works well there. Good location. Front desk was very helpful. Enjoyed our stay there.

Best location and comfortable”
This hotel is nearly keisei ueno station and JR Ueno station. If you have plan to use Tokyo Wide Pass. You can use Shinkansen at Ueno station. The receptionist was smiling brightly. If I come to travel in Japan again, I will stay here.

Convenience hotel near Keisei Ueno Station”
The hotel is bit old however you will find all you need for a short stay and value for money. We took this one as it was cheapest we could find as we need to take the first Skyliner in the morning to Narita. Room is very clean and the staffs are super friendly!

Hotel so good location”
Kinuya hotel first time hotel me and my family spending night, first time come to japan we use skyliner and go to directly to ueno. And after @ueno the station it.s close to kinuya hotel, this honey so nice and homey... , i think i go to japan again, i will book this hotel again
