A very distinguished place to stay.”

Driving through the gardens to the Resort is pleasurable

We found the Beaumont Estate on the internet and booked from Australia. It is an "out of the way" place but we found it easily. Driving through the gates and up the driveway through the grounds towards the impressive Beaumont House was a sheer pleasure. A wedding of sumptuous proportions had just finished and we enjoyed seeing the spectacle as we booked in. The building is huge and spread out and it takes a long while to walk from bedrooms to the main facilities. this can be done undercover or through the grounds but if one is in a hurry the time taken could be a frustration. The swimming pool was very presentable and water warm. the breakfast (although very busy) was enjoyable. We were amazed at how many families were visiting, parents with young children for instance. It was very busy.

Good but missed some criticial points”

Location, price, amenities

We stayed here on a family trip to Legoland with two children (4 & 7 years old). Although the hotel is very well located on beautiful grounds and has a nice playground and gardens for the kids, there were a couple of things that really spoiled our visit. Firstly and most importantly the room had no air conditioning which at the end of July was a real problem. We stayed for two nights, both of which were extremely uncomfortable due to the heat in the room. The hotel did provide a portable fan, but because the windows would only slight open (due to safety reasons) it was impossible to cool the room down (even by putting the fan at the window). Also both myself and my wife were woken multiple times during the night with loud banging noises from the floor above (which I think was due to a door hitting the frame in the hall area). Secondly, on our first night we decided to have dinner in the restaurant. The price was £20 per adult for a buffet dinner. One nice touch was that kids ate free between 6 and 7. With this said both of our kids couldn't eat the food due to the poor quality. Both myself and my wife had the buffet dinner which I have to say was very poor -- I have to say we really felt ripped off here. With this said the breakfast was much better and was very welcome after the previous night. I think the difference here (from what I could see) was that in the morning the restaurant manager was really attentive and always making sure things were being dealt with. (So if the management of the hotel are reading this, that lady should really be commended). Were it not for both of the above I would recommend this hotel with a 4/5 however the room and food issues were a significant let down which would lead me to reduce it to a 2.5/5. I do hope that this criticism is taken constructively, as with a bit more effort on these details the Beaumont Estate could be a top-class experience, esp. for families with young children.

Disappointing and dirty ”

Good wedding location, great food by external caterers, beautiful gardens

I stayed at Beaumont Estate after attending a friend's wedding. The outlook of the Estate is beautiful, lovely well kept gardens, which looked impressive despite the rain. This raised my hopes expecting the room to be just as wonderful, especially as I have stayed at the hotel 3 years ago. Room: good space, although very dark, limited external light, dirty bathroom. which I cleaned to my satisfaction! I had booked an executive double. On my previous stay, I had booked this independently, therefore may have got a better, cleaner room than I had so this time round. I would chose to stay again, if another friend got married there, however may ask for a specific room!

Good venue for sightseeing”

An overnight stay at the Beaumont. Family room was adequate and the bathroom could have done with a deep clean. Noise levels outside the room were pretty high which didn't make for a great nights sleep. The prices in the bar were rather steep (£7.10 for a single G&T) and the buffet on the sunday night was pretty average. The hotel is situated in lovely grounds and is a great place for children to play and run around in. I would come again but would eat and drink outside of the hotel.

pretty grounds, friendly staff, clean room

We stayed at Beaumont because we wanted one night in the English countryside before starting a 2-week European vacation. We wanted one night of peace and quiet to catch up on sleep and get over jetlag. I think it worked perfectly! The ground are really pretty and I imagine it would be a beautiful place for a wedding.

Average”

Beaumont Estate sounds luxurious, but average would be a better description. The rooms were small in a series o buildings that could be most kindly described as labrynthine. Staff were generally OK though occasionally my wife and I felt we were something of an inconvenience ( the Porter was very good however). The general tenor was not improved by miles of noisey kids and a 'Dancing with the Stars' weekend that resulted in facilities being over run. In a large pool someone is average and this certainly was it

Fine for overnight stay”

Previous reviews are correct when mentioning that it is very difficult to find your way around this hotel! There are many different parts and sometimes signs are not visible. When arriving in room the children's bed had not been made up which meant traipsing back to reception , (no answer on phone). Room was fine, no air con which was disappointing as room was very warm. Breakfast was overpriced at £15 per adult. Spent 5 minutes looking for tea and coffee- this is served at your table but you will have to ask as nobody came over to us at all. Good location for legoland which was the reason for our stay but I think the Copthorne which is nearby is better value for money and breakfast is tastier.

Lovely hotel, only disappointed was that they didn't offer room service. You could order and collect but restaurant was miles away. Also had difficulty finding and getting to my room as no lifts and lots of stairs. If I'd left to pick up food I would've never found it again. Bathroom needs to be renovated. Stayed here on the 6th of december this year for a xmas party and had a great time, lovely hotel but very expensive when we had only 2 cups of tea and 2 lots of sandwiches which cost in total £33.??, it was 3.95 for a cup of tea and its only a small cup. The young girl behind the bar had only just started that day and was left on her own. It was very busy but she was very poilte trying her best to serve drinks and bring food to the tables as no other staff was there to help or guide her. which makes her endure a lack of training from management.. but in all every thing was very good

Beautiful estate, poor service, poor beds.”

The grounds were beautiful, lots of areas to chill outside/go for a walk, good food/buffet.

Great grounds but the service and maintenance was very disappointing. Half the time the staff didn't know what they were doing and the communication between each other was terrible. I had to go down to reception a few times to deal with payments, miscommunication of buffet times/availability and breakfast prices and my key stopped working also, which was frustrating because reception was a good 10 min walk away from my room. My Tv also didn't work and reception said they would send a man down in 10 minutes. He never showed. The beds were uncomfortable (springy, hard to sleep in) and the rooms are smaller than the photos. The rooms and bathrooms were however well designed and supplied with good quality toiletries. Although, the shower temperature was unadjustable so we had borderline boiling showers and after upgrading our room, the bath plug didn't work and the water would not rise past a foot. Overall, a great property and hotel/facilities/recreational areas however very disappointed by the service and attention to detail (bathroom/bed) as it made our stay a little less enjoyable.

Let's itself down in small ways ”

In a truly ironic timing, we stayed just after a week in tiny B and B's and roadside bars in rural Portugal where it was the norm to find free wi fi. Wake up, Principal Hayley: your 'one hour win fi free and then you pay' policy is seriously outdated and it would cost you little and benefit you greatly to change it. Room was great but a gentle comment that the bed was small for the quality of facility otherwise. Beautiful location, superb staff service......just those little extras missing that make the stay what it should be.

Over priced and underwhelming ”

This is our second visit to this hotel. The location is great and the grounds are spectacular. Our first visit was in the newly renovated section and was lovely. Our second in the main hotel and not nearly such a nice experience. The main part of the hotel is older and more dated. The rooms need attention. Peeling paint, overly hot and very noisy. Phone that didn’t work. Toilet that would stop flushing. No A/C whilst we didn’t need it due to the time of year I can only imagine how hot it would be come summer. This was in a superior suite. If you stay at the this hotel I would recommend asking for a room in the annex.

Dear Chris. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, your comments of which are all duly noted. We are currently finishing a bedroom refurbishment in the main building when finished will mean all of our 429 bedrooms will have been completed. The main building is steeped in history and the rooms very in size and style, our blue and green wings are a little more modern and these have all now been refurbished. I hope you will come and stay again in the near Future. Kind regards Darren McGhee Venue Director.

Weekend Break”

The hotel is located in a great location for exploring the surrounding areas. A very large hotel and stunning building but looks tired in places. We stayed in the main building during one of the hottest weekends this year but the room had no air conditioning and the windows could be hardly opened which meant we could not sleep and the room temperature was over 32 Deg C, a small fan placed in the room made no difference. When mentioned at the reception there was no interest to assist and we noted many guests during check out complaining about the same. In addition when we tried to book for the evening meal we were told that the restaurant was fully booked but when we passed through later it was empty and managed to pursued the restaurant waiter to find us a table from the 20 apparently free. The same waiter then booked invisible guests drinks to our bill which was later changed. We were also advised that we had to pay cash and could not book to the room this was later overruled.

diapointed”

Location, clean, good customer service
not easy to find your way arround. Only one cup in a double room? Very small double bed! Lounge bar was cold and uninviting, dull! No information pack in the room?

The hotel did not live up to expectations and was not the quality I expected as given by a very impresive webb site. There needs to be a much more personal feel to the place rather than "airport lounge" feel. At the price I paid I had expected more comfort and a general feeling of "class". If you had an information pack in each room you would be able to inform customers as to exactly what you have to offer rather than relying on the customer to hunt out the information for themselves. Most of the staff were helpful, but again why should you have to hunt the lengthy corridors to find one? I understand there is a phone in the room, but sometimes you need to speak to someone eye to eye. I must say it felt more like a Hostel rather than a Hotel.

Exceptional”

I enjoyed my stay. Lovely twin room in the Stuart wing. Good food. Swimming pool needs supervision as none of the rules were observed. It is not enough that a sign asigns safety to competent swimmers. I only went there once in my 3 day stay which was very disappointing for me.

Lovely estate, rooms were tired”

Beautiful venue for a wedding

I went to a wedding here. Whilst the estate and grounds were lovely. The accommodation reminded me of an old people's home. Certainly not the same grandeur as the main building. The corridors were like rabbit warrens and the rooms were tired and cramped.

Nice hotel”

location, comfort, style

Initially the room i had was quite dark so i asked to be changed. I was put in a family room which was lovely with beautiful views onto the gardens. I had pleasant stay here. The buffet dinner was nice. Staff are friendly. I had dropped a top off my bottle which rolled under the bed. I assumed it was not cleaned as there was a babys drinking lid and crayon. I quite like the hotel it is very big but its nice.
