Not what we expected, but not a bad stay”
We availed of airport pick-up service as we were coming in on an early flight. Though we had asked for this in advance, we still had to call the hotel to remind them we had arrived. After waiting a while, they did send a private car for us, w/ no extra fee. For our departure, they got a taxi to bring us to the airport, though we had to pay for it. The rooms are single detached units, w/ separate driveways for guests w their own vehicles. There is space for 1 vehicle/driveway. The room is adequate for 2 pax, though there was only 1 queen-sized bed/room (we had 2 rooms for 4 people). Since we had expected 2 single beds/room, they kindly supplied us w an extra single bed/room w/out any extra fee. Each room had a working air conditioner, a TV w/ cable, a bathroom (toilet & shower), a ledge & a chair. No closets. There was a menu behind the front door for room service, but since they couldn't serve the food in 30 mins or less, we decided to eat in town. I was disappointed that the hotel had a swimming pool, but wouldn’t let guests swim before 9 AM, as they do their cleaning 1st thing in the AM, so early risers like me couldn’t take advantage of the otherwise picturesque pool. This was only an issue because we had plans for the day & could not wait for the pool to open, but for other guests who aren't on a schedule, this shouldn’t be a problem. The hotel is on the beach, but due to the storm surge from Typhoon Haiyan in Nov 2013, they completely barred access to the beach from the resort. Not sure if this was intentional. The staff said that their property wall had been destroyed by the storm surge. It's possible that when they repaired the wall, they just didn’t make a gate. In any case, we could not get to the beach either. The staff was friendly, helpful when we needed to call for tricycles. The check-out process was hassle-free, if a bit unconventional. The hotel is a bit far from the town center, but if you're looking for a place that's quiet & secluded, this is it.

Simple is the Kindest Word that can be said”
"interesting" describes it. We were booked for six days but left after four days. The internet is shared in a public area. You go to a elevated open air platform which is part common area and part home. There you log in while the caretakers go about their business. The room is about 12x12ft with a small bathroom immediately to the side. There are lots of power outlets but no desk, chair, or anything but a bed. No refrigerator, no glasses, nothing extra, not even soap. The TV is old tube style, the cable was good. There is no mirror over the sink and everything is well worn. The bathroom is best described as a room that is jointly used as a wash basin area, a toilet area, and a shower/bucket area. Nothing divides one from the other and the shower drain is in the middle of the room. There is only cold water and the shower head fell off when touched. Upon inspection it appeared to be broken for sometime and just set in place. There was one worn out towel, no wash cloth, and housekeeping was non-existent. The door handle of the outside door all-but was falling off. These units are barely maintained and the ants visited the second day of the visit and never left.

this hotel is consisted of individual cottage. you can go in and out of your cottage without having any contact of hotel stuff. the beach is black sand due to volcano ash. there was brownout several times. it takes several tens of minutes to start backup generator. you can't expect much to restaurant and food.
