Pleasant hotel”

Good location

whilst there is not much in quy nhon itself, it is the nearest place of significant size to the my lai war memorial. dong khanh hotel is a reasonable choice of accommodation in quy nhon. it is located just off the main road (highway 1), the rooms are clean and in good condition - mine had a balcony and the staff are friendly, but speak little english. they don't do food. i would stay at dong khanh if i visit quy nhon again.

Good location close to highway 1 and town centre”

Allowed early check in.

If like us you are staying in Quang Ngai to visit Son My Memorial and the beautiful My Khe Beach then this is s good place to stay. Dropped on Highway 1 by bus the hotel is not far and also good access to town. You can hire a bike from reception for and it's very easy to get around. The hotel good for it's purpose but basic, although the rooms quite large and the shower good. Staff speak very little English but enough for you to communicate and get what you need.

Ok for a short stay”

Functional

Quang Ngai is my wife's home town and we came for a wedding. We stayed here as there was no room in her parents’ house. Just using it as a place to sleep the hotel is ok for the price. It could be a bit cleaner inside the room but it wasn't too bad. We didn't try any of the food here so can't really comment. The location is quite nice along the river. We rented a motorbike for 120,000vnd a day but they weren't very well maintained. The first had a flat tire, the second the brake pads were completely worn out and most had either no mirrors or ones that were very wobbly. We did get one that was ok in the end but definitely worth checking the bike before venturing out. Overall, not the best hotel in the world but ok if your not expecting too much for the price.

Central location but no English spoken here”

Good location

Be prepred for no English staff including manager and owner. Location is good if you need to go to Quang Ngai as I did to visit Son My Memorial, but otherwise not much else going on tourist wise in town. But it is a good way to mingle with the local people in the area if you don't mind being one of the only tourists around with patience and a happy go with the flow smile.

OK hotel for the money.”

located on the edge of town

hotel is basic and ok for the money. it is located at the northern end of town near the river brige. the room i was given was of decent size and comfortable enough, though could have done with a thorough all over clean. the staff spoke little english and were pleasant enough, and after a bit hard work trying to communicate arranged a moto driver to go to son my. but oddly they told me i could not get a bus to qui nhon after i had already been to the bus depot to organise a seat for my travel the next day.

AVOID”

It was horrible, the room was dirty and stank of wee. There were flies and bugs everywhere as the window did not close. We slept in sleeping bags because it was so dirty. The staff were unfriendly and made no effort with us. They didn't say anything when we left a night early because it was so horrible! This is not even a hotel - the pictures are fake, I know it's cheap but I wouldn't stay here even if you paid me. On another note don't even go to quang ngai. It is a grim place with nothing to do. If you want somewhere less touristy in central Vietnam go to quy nhon or danang - they are much nicer. Most importantly don't stay here. You will regret it.

Only choice in the area for a low budget”

location to Son My

Staff speaks almost no English, we also encountered the dog barking to the customers, Sigaret butts in the stairwells, no bicycles for rent at the reception. Room was not very clean, but ok for one night. Reception was kind enough to call a taxi . 160.000 dong one way, arranged a pick up with the taxi driver 1,5 hours later.

Average hotel but suits for cheap accomodation”

had internet and consistent hot water!

hotel was fine, nothing fancy. Staff don't speak English which is perfectly acceptable for a city off the beaten trail. However i wouldn't say they were particularly helpful in simple things like helping us find ANY restaurant in town! They also charged us 1usd for the town map, unheard of so far in our experience of SE Asia. The room wasn't clean on arrival (cigarette butt on the floor) and wasn't cleaned while we were there (2 nights). The lizards are welcome as they eat the bugs in the room and didn't see any cockroaches.

Think again about booking this hotel.”

Good location and comfortable mattress.

The service at reception was a little ordinary. The bathroom was not up to standard. We didn't sleep very well due to the noisy hallway and inconsiderate patrons. I would only recommend this hotel as a last resort.

Small rooms in a generally grubby hotel”

Location not too bad

We stayed here for one night in order to go see the Son My Memorial to the My Lai massacre. The hotel served its purpose and was admittedly quite cheap. However I think the concept of cleanliness has passed the staff by. The first room we were shown had rodent droppings on the floor, a badly stained toilet and a missing ceiling tile in the bathroom, as well as being sticky to the touch. We moved to another room which at least had no droppings on the floor. (Although there were plenty on the balcony outside). Rooms were small and bedding was worn. Luckily we managed to survive the night. Staff spoke no English. Not recommended.

Ok for a bed”

We stopped in this city as we had travelled a long day and did not want to drive at night. Hotel staff didn't seem that fussed that we were staying there, and offered no help where we could eat or what there was to do around town. Evidently there is nothing to do in this city for tourists and we were glad to just be staying the night and leaving first thing in the morning. It is really a no thrills hotel so if you are looking just to sleep and then leave then this would be suffice. Good coffee next door and that's about it.

Nice furnishings

Loud dog barking at customers. Ants. Everywhere. Cleaning people loud early in the morning. low price; near restaurants; near train station

One desk clerk was welcoming and agreeable. All other staff were sullen and surly. When I checked in, the glasses in my room were dirty - finger and lip smudges. Next day the room cleaner gave them a quick rinse - left them even dirtier. No food service at all, which probably was a blessing, considering those glasses.
