    Very pleasant hotel”

I've stayed at a number of Dormy Inns and all of them are nice, but this one was especially comfortable! The neighborhood feels cozy and out-of-the-way although convenient to Tokyo Station and the Hibiya subway line; the restaurant and many rooms have lovely views over a river; the onsen is spacious. The staff as usual was very courteous and helpful.

Excellent, but check if you can book Akihabara branch for similar price first.”

Whenever one is available my partner always insists on staying at the Dormy Inn whenever we are in Japan. This branch has the same quality of all the others but I would say that if you are not a native and don't have a high level of Japanese you may find the Akihabara branch more suited to you. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and skilled, the rooms are on the small side and struggle with storage space but the facilities there will meet your needs. The location is more out of the way that central Tokyo hotels but its a short walk to access the tube network with good links to the key areas. Major benefits of staying here are that the hotel has an excellent hot spring open for long hours, after which you can get a complimentary drink or ice cream depending on time of day, if you are up late you can get a complimentary noodle meal from the kitchen. Overall its a great stay but if looking to go back to Tokyo I will be checking for prices at the Akihabara branch first.

Great option for solo traveler who loves onsen”

I am blown away by the hospitality and service at this dormy inn. Unlike other hotels that just have public bath, this dormy inn actually has natural hot spring. And they provide complementary fresh ramen, popsicles and yukult drinks at different times throughout the day. I put my luggage down at the inn before check in time and when I came back for check in, they actually already put my luggage in my room. Great service. Yes the building a bit old but honestly the rooms are quite comfy. It’s also beautifully located next to a scenic river and one station away from Tokyo station. One thing to note is that this area is quite residential - so if you are looking to come right out the hotel and do shopping, this is probably not the place. But if you are looking for a quiet and convenient stay with awesome onsen, I highly recommend this place

Good place for solo travelers if you can get a good price. Rooms are tiny. Onsen is nice. Breakfast is pretty good. Some of the staff were great. A couple were a little unfriendly I believe because they didn't want to have to deal with a foreigner. Location is convenient.

    Tokyo's little Secret”

Location, Hot water sring and comfortable rooms!

The location was fantastic, situated along side a river with walking track for evening strolls and within a 10 minute walk to the underground subway with trains departing every minute to shopping centres, Tokyo Disneyland and links to tours around Japan. The rooms were small but had Eve thing you needed to make your stay enjoyable, they were amazingly comfortable and very clean. The natural hot water springs located opposite reception was one of the best experiences and so relaxing it soon became a nightly routine. The restaurant had a large selection that catered for all types of people, the food was of the highest standard and the free evening noodles searved at the restaurant were tartly and something I looked forward to every evening. The staff were friendly and helpful ensuring your stay is as enjoyable as possible. I can not fault this place and will defiantly be staying at the Dormy Inn Hatchobori if I'm lucky enough to visit Tokyo again.

    Value for money!”

Close to subway, clean rooms, on-site onsen, friendly staff.
Not that we minded but - rooms are small, staff speak minimal english.

My boyfriend and i really enjoyed our stay at Dormy Inn. It was our first time in Japan and found the location really convenient. We didn't have a JR pass but if you had one, it would be cost effective as both the normal subway and JR lines are accessible from Hatchobori station (exit B4 - hotel is across the road on the left). Also very close to Tsukiji fish market - we took a cab there as trains weren't running before 5am (you need to be there at 430am to have any chance of getting in to see the auctions - it's well worth the lack of sleep though!). cab rides start at about 700yen but only cost about 800-850 to get to Tsukiji from Dormy Inn. Keep in mind tokyo cab drivers speak NO english so best to have your address handy. trains to Hatchobori also stop running at around 11pm so what we did was got ourselves to tokyo station on whatever line that went there and took a cab from there (approx 800yen). Rooms were very small but if you're like us and just need somewhere comfortable for sleeping then this hotel is perfect. Bathroom is tiny but extremely clean. the onsen is beautiful to soak in after a long day - toiletries are provided :) We took the narita express from the airport. It's a bit of a trek at Tokyo station to get to the JR keiyo line going to Hatchobori so beware if you have lots of luggage. If it's your first time - the subway system looks extremely confusing but is surprisingly easy to use. The signs in the stations are in english (yay!).

Great value hotel just 1 stop from Tokyo”

The best things about this hotel were the location, communal bath and free ramen

I have stayed at the Dormy Inn Hiroshima before, and I was recommended to the Dormy Inn Hatchobori by a friend that had stayed recently. The biggest attraction for me was the internal bath or 'Sento'. These are relatively cheap outside, but are a part of Japanese culture that is gradually disappearing. I applaud Dormy and a few other small business hotel chains for keeping this tradition alive. There is nothing better after a long business day at a trade show and or walking the streets of Tokyo than to come back and have a nice soak in a hot bath - it's rejuvenating. I missed out on the free ramen the first night, but on the second, I really enjoyed them and loved the community feel of everybody sitting around the TV slurping a hot bowl of simple but tasty Soy Ramen - I will definitely make Dormy Inns one of my first choices from now on! Brilliant!

    Our "home" in Tokyo”

Great location - close to Hatchobori Station for subway and train, just one stop from Tokyo Station - meant we could get everywhere easily but we didn't feel caught up in the non-stop craziness of Tokyo Station itself. Our neighborhood of Nihonbashi was filled with history, great local restaurants and shops, and even a fruit market. We loved having the river right outside our windows and seeing herons and ducks daily. The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good, and the ramen bar at night was much appreciated! Best of all was the onsen, open from 3 pm to 10 am, all night long. We enjoyed that every night and every morning. The staff were extremely helpful and easy to communicate with, and I personally appreciated the extra security the hotel provided to women guests. We felt very much at home at the Dormy Inn Hatchobori, and we plan to return there on our next trip to Tokyo.

    Nice Japanese business-style hotel”

    Onsen + efficiently laid-out rooms
    None

I stayed at Dormy Inn Hatchobori for 9 nights. My first night was in a room that had a funny odor, but my request for a room switch was accomodated the next morning. The rooms were identical in size, and both featured semi-double beds with very firm mattresses, Japanese style pillows, and comfortable linens. A desk with chair was next to the bed and featured a phone, LAN connection (which worked well), electrical outlets, and small flat screen television. The area immediately adjacent to the bed was carpeted. At the foot of the bed was a large window that looked out over the river, and was equipped with both sheers and effective black-out curtains. Lots of lighting: overhead, bedside, desk, sink area, and bathroom all had their own fixtures. A separate kitchen/living area featured tatami floors, a low Japanese-style table and two cushions (normally stowed against the wall, but I actually used it to serve tea and cookies to a guest one afternoon), a small refrigerator, hot water kettle, hair dryer, glasses, cups, green tea, liquid hand soap, comb, toothbrush/toothpaste, razor, and air freshener. The bathroom featured a bidet-style toilet and shower (with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash) with two hooks at different heights for the detachable shower head and a mirror. The onsen/common bath is great, and includes (for females) a large indoor bath as well as two small (one to two people) outdoor wooden baths. The dressing area features sinks, toiletries, and hair dryers, as well as two washing machines with free detergent (that I used twice). No directions in English, so you might want to ask a kind fellow bather to help you. Staff speak very little English, but understand a bit more, and are eager to help, so in the end it all works out. The location is quiet, but close to Hatchobori JR (metro a bit farther away) and a 15 minute walk to Tokyo Station. Tsukiji, Ginza, and Hamarikyu Garden all walking distance if you like to walk

    Nice hotel with Onsen”

    - Convenient access - Clean, compact with everything needed in the room, including free internet via LAN in the room if bring your own laptop. - Free Onsen (Japanese bath spa) - Free Ramen at night - Safe and quiet environment. - Some units can see the river, such as the room I stayed.
    - Not many restaurants nearby. However, travel one station to Tokyo station, there are many foods & shoppings around. - Some staff cannot speak English, but very attentive to service and helpful.

I spend 6 nights here with the requirement to find a hotel which have convenient access to both Tokyo Big Sight for my conference and city center for pleasure. Dormy Inn Hatchobori is a great place. It is one station away from Tokyo station. The room is clean and nice with all necessary equipment. My room can see the river too. Free onsen available and awesome for a long day of walking. Also have free ramen during 9.30-10.30pm. I stayed in semi-double type, which is good for one person but maybe small for couple. The staff are very polite, helpful, and enthusiatic for service. Most of them can communicate in English. I would recommend this hotel for my friend for sure.

    great location and great food”

shuttle bus from Tokyo station, free ramen at 21:30-22:30, variety of breakfast, 24-hr common bath, and very close to Hatchobori JR station

I stayed there for 3 nights, everything was great. The hotel has shuttle bus to and from Tokyo station. From Hatchobori JR station to major stations in Tokyo such as Shinjuku, SHibuya, Harajuku, Ginza (Yurakucho), and Tokyo Disneyland are not more than 5 stations. We traveled as a family (parents and two children age ~20) and we enjoy every meals here. Breakfast has variety of food both Japanese and Western. Moreover, the hotel provides free ramen in the evening!! We will definitely choose this hotel if we have chance to visit Tokyo again (^.^) From the previous reviews, I found that many people complain about staffs cannot communicate in English, I think they have improved in this area already.

Great onsen, breakfast buffet with many choices”

Efficient check in and check out. Small room but manageable. Very good interior maximizing space. Very near Hatchobori Line (exit B4), just 2 mins walk. Quiet neighborhood. Not for night life. Great onsen experience after long tiring walks around tokyo. Loved the pajamas that you can use in your room and out in the hotel! PJs during breakfast! 😍 Many choices for breakfast buffet. Free water tea and coffee all day! Ramen free at night, saves money than eating out. Will most likely try their other branches if we'll be going back to japan. Thanks dormy inn!

    Nice neighborhood very quiet area”

The hotel is located in a very good area, quiet and safe. There are many convenient stores close to the hotel. Dormy Inn is my top choice when traveling in Japan because they have hot spring and free ramen! The breakfast also good and never let me down. The only downside of this hotel is the distance between the hotel and the subway station. It takes about 10-15 mins walking time. If you have many pieces of luggage or heavy stuff, this might be a trouble when staying here. However, I remember they offer shuttle service bounding to Tokyo train station.
