Beautiful views and relaxing stay”
We went to Dos Palmas on a recommendation by my cousin, a pediatrician living in Manila. It was the second trip on a 3-resort island hopping adventure my husband and I took in August 2015. Dos Palmas is a beautiful resort with an extremely accommodating staff and a beautiful pool, beach view, and sports center. One of my favorite parts of our trip was the boat ride to the island from the wharf in Puerto Princesa, which was well planned by their staff. They emailed us a few days before our flight there to confirm the time of arrival because their boats do not travel past 4pm for security reasons. We were coming in too late so had to move our flights to an earlier time. From that time on, we enjoyed ourselves. We went scuba diving for the first time ever with PADI instructor Manny, which we really enjoyed. The underwater sea life is truly amazing there and was worth the money we spent for it, even if it ended with me getting a mild jellyfish sting! The resort is beautiful but the rooms are slightly outdated as mentioned in other reviews. It had everything we needed (toiletries, air conditioning) and we could request/borrow games at the front desk to keep us entertained at night since there were no TVs and extremely limited wifi (only accessible in the cabana). I can't imagine it is easy to constantly renovate and remodel island resorts as far as this so I am still very impressed with its beauty. Lastly, I would say the staff was highly trained to accommodate any request by the guests. While dealing with flies trying to pirate in on our meals, a waitress moved strong fans near us. While at the pool and no towels, the towel receptacle person kindly ran to the towel giver place and brought them to us. While scrambling at breakfast to get to an island tour, a waitress helped us pack some food. They truly are trained to help their guests, and we really appreciated it.

Great hotel for a quiet/peaceful experience”
The island is beautiful. It's a tropical paradise. very quiet and peaceful. The rooms are sufficient but nothing outstanding. Decent size with a nice outdoor balcony area. Eventhing went smoothly from our pickup at the hotel office in Puerto Princesa, to the boatride to the island (about an hour), to our stay at the island and then our return boatride/transfer. I cant stress enough how beautiful the resort is. The swimming pool is very nice. There are various other activities to do on and around the island. Here is the catch... go to Dos Palmas if youre looking for a quiet, peaceful or romantic getaway. If youre looking for more of a social experience or party, this is not the place. It's very quiet and when we went there were not very many other guests. Here are my two cons: WiFi only available at the restaraunt and even then the connection is not very good. And the food selection could be better. If youre staying for multiple days youre likely to get bored with the menu. They do offer a lunch buffet but the price does not justify it. Overall I recommend Dos Palmas as long as youre not expecting a lively atmosphere.

Lovely island, excellent service”
The travel from the port in Puerto Princesa to Dos Palmas resort by the hotel boat took us 45 minutes. Safety vests which the boat staff asked us to wear at all times made us feel secure about the trip. When the island became visible, its white beach glistened in the sun, making us all excited, ready with our cameras. As the boat docked, a band using native materials as instruments played welcome songs. Check-in was very smooth as several staffs were assigned to 1-2 guests. They were ready with a welcome necklace, proposed program, room key, and list of available services. We were ushered to our rooms ( which happened to be available) at 9:00 AM even though check-in time was 2:00 PM. This flexibility was to be repeated many times during our stay. They also took care of our luggages from the time they picked us uo in Puerto Princesa up to the door of our cottage, we did not have to left a finger to carry them. The 90-min Filipino massage, which comes free with 2 nights' stay was heavenly. Also free were diving lessons ( which we did not take due to our age ), snorkeling and kayaking, and a buffet lunch in the Isla Putting Buhangin ( White sand Isle ) the next day. That island lunch and swimming was a taste of paradise, and our best experience so far. That night, we had dinner by the beach serenaded by a local band. Food was always great! Up to the time our boat left the island port, the hotel staffs have been very helpful and friendly. My husband and I have been to many places, but we can say that these hotel staff are the friendliest and most helpful of all.

Big rooms with the best service in the whole PH!!!”
we were picked up at the airport and waited for a few hours in their puerto princesa office. it was ok because we got to go to the nearest ncc mall and look around for stuffs. the driver was very really helpful and he carried all our heavy luguages without even asked! the office staff were also super friendly and approachable, you can ask them anything and they would give you an honest answer to their knowledge. in the boat to the island, friendly boat staff made the cutest figures out of leaves! he gave me two - one is 2 birds in a heart and then a grasshopper for my husband ;) what a talent! upon our arrival in dos palmas, we were greeted with drinks and a beaded necklace :) and then we were off for the island orientation. on our way to the room, we saw a lizard just walking around :d they are more scared of us as it ran the moment we got closer! we got to our villa but it was located on the ground floor and i wanted a 2 nd floor. they were able to accommodate and change the rooms for us. :) we looove the big huge rooms! and the big balcony that overlooks the ocean. another highlight, was their resident bird - a parrot named pekoi. he is a bit moody though but definitely kind enough that the swedish kids had him on their arms or head! he loves to eat cherries and oranges. what's lovely about this is that pekoi is free to fly anywhere in the island as he please. they don't keep him on a cage or anything like that. also the bestthing about dos palmas is their service. all their staff and servers will attend to your every need! they will offer to pour your soup in your bowls! and also personally bring your to go left overs to your villa. as i said, the staff were acting like slaves. we felt like we were royals!!! you will feel like tipping every staff, from the driver that picks you up to the servers and front desk, because of this high quality caliber of service! it was raining most the time but the staff turned our experience into a sunny one! visit them today!

Love love love!! Best resort in the Philippines ”
I love love love loved this resort!!!!! The pictures do no justice to this paradise. It’s a 45 min boat ride from Puerto Princesa which the hotel organizes from start to finish at no extra cost. If there was 10 stars to give to the staff I would, starting from the transfer driver, to the guy on boat who makes a beautiful creative piece of art with a leaf on the boat, the lifeguard, to the front desk, to the waitresses, bartender and more! They are the nicest, sweetest, most accommodating hotel staff I’ve ever encountered. I traveled in 5 different spots in the Philippines prior to arriving here (Moalboal, Siquijor, Boracay , coron, el nido ) so I have much to compare. I highly recommend spending at least 3 nights at Dos Palmas.. there is a free island hopping tour, snorkeling, the island itself has beautiful white sand, Turquoise waters, mangroves, huge harmless lizards(!!), baby black fin sharks (harmless).

Completely off the beaten path”
If you want a laid back, quiet vacation place that has everything you need, then Dos Palmas is the place. Choose your flight times wisely when landing at Puerto Princessa Airport. There are only 3-4 daily transfers from Honda Bay Wharf to the Island. Allow yourself up to 3 hours from landing to get from the airport and then to the Wharf and then to the Island. We actually had to change our flight to land earlier because we would have missed the last 4pm transfer. There are no private transfers available. Resort was great in terms of amenities, activities and spa treatments. Even offering 2 private karaoke rooms, island tours and plenty of snorkeling. Our only regret was the menu. The buffet was standard fare. We found the ala cart menu very basic. We wished there were more options. We stayed 3 nights, 4 days. I can imagine after 5 days, the food would get very repetitive. More variety would have been nice. Overall; a wonderful, peaceful and relaxing stay!

Island paradies”
If you are looking for an Island Paradiese with some specials like airport transfer, snorkelling and island hopping inclusive - this is a great adress The transfer is included and a boat goes around 4 times a day to the island. We had a very great time there and the person who is responsible for taking care of all guests helped us so much in booking a hotel after our stay at Dos Palmas Island Resort. (Thank you very much for this). Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and we could just stay 2 nights there which we really enjoyed. As we wanted to rent snorkel equipment, we got a short ride by boat to a good location and a guide who showed us the beautiful corals and fishes. The view at this day and time was not that good, so it would be better to go snorkeling in the morning around 8 am. We joined a 2 hour island hopping trip which is free for the guests and visited another smaller island. The food could be better, but it was still ok. All the staff are very friendly. We would really recommend it and hopefully come back one day.

A very pleasent stay on a beautifull island”
We stayed only for 3 nights on Dos Palmas Island resort and spa. But we enjoyed every minute. The location is very nice. The room wich we stayed in was very good. But overall the resort could use a little renovation. And during our stay there was some renovation already started. But we had no inconveniance of that. Snorkling was absolute fantastic, we saw a few big clamps, nemoś and loads of other fishes. In the shallow water allong the beach we even saw little baby sharks and stingray. The personel was lovely, friendly and showed very good service from the reception until the personel working in the restuarant.

Pleasant and memorable vacation”
It was my birthday trip to Palawan, and it was one of the most memorable vacations I've ever had! Being my first time in Palawan, I had no expectations. Yet my stay at Dos Palmas was over my imagination. The rooms were great, the bed the shower the balcony were all cozy and comfortable. We even had bicycles available for rent to get around the hotel grounds. The beach was just within reach, and the restaurant offered fantastic food and the staff were superb. The bartender was particularly fantastic, thank you for the hospitality. Guests were offered complimentary activities such as snorkeling, island-hopping and kayaking. This was great for us! On my birthday itself, I was surprised by a cake and a staff entourage for birthday songs and cake cutting. It was truly sweet and special. Thank you Dos Palmas, we will surely come back if the opportunity arises. Cheers! :)

Exceptional”
We went to Dos Palmas from December 23 to December 27, 2017. The staff, from Andy the GM to the front counter staff, (Donna) the restaurant staff (Shy, Jerry Mond) and housekeeping were excellent. I wish we could remember everyones name. It was our first time to a Resort and Spa and if they are all like Dos Palmas we are hooked. The breakfast buffet is exceptional. There is something for everyone, from cold cereals, bread, cakes, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, bacon, ham, sausages, rice, eggs, any way you like them to filipino authentic food. This is included with your reservation. They have a great lunch and supper menu to choose from. They also have a luncheon buffet and supper buffet if you prefer that. The assortment of food is great. There is something for everyone. The pools are in the perfect location with views of the Sulu Sea everywhere you look. Would definitely recommend Dos Palmas to everyone. We will be back!!!

Quiet Island Paradise”
The Dos Palmas resort is a beautiful place which offered us a relaxing and peaceful stay during our time in the Philippines. It is a small resort, which makes it feel like you are sharing the island with only a handful of other people. They have many activities to try, many of which we did not have time for. We really enjoyed the white sand beach and crystal clear water surrounding much of the resort. The service was very friendly and accommodating, including the water shuttle back to the main island. The food was great, lots of selection. It is perfect for someone looking for a romantic and relaxing vacation. We had read a lot of reviews of people complaining about the quality and prices of the food but we found the food very good and quite reasonably priced.

Lovely stay. Will recommend to travellers”
It's all commendations for this property and the staff. Everyone is considerate and sensitive to our needs. For a destination island resort, they give the most value for your buck. All activities are included in their room night rate, except understandably, for spa and scuba diving services. Kayaking, biking, island tour, snorkeling, playground use, infinity and lap pool use, free-flowing coffee and tea, darts and billiards use, two-way transfer via van and boat from the airport to resort and back are all complimentary. Breakfast buffet is included. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant whips up these tasty a la carte dishes and snacks. We were pleasantly surprised that they did not scrimp on portions or the quality of their ingredients while the prices stayed reasonable and not bloated compared to some mainland restos. In terms of service, staff are very accommodating from the pick up at the airport, to when they place welcome leis at the resort wharf and treat you to their welcome drinks. Such great start of hospitality continued throughout our stay. As for the room itself, it is spacious and have ample relaxation furnitures like comfy beds, daybed and loungers in the room and at the balcony. There was no television but wifi is offered for free and it reaches our room. Air conditioning is not very noisy and an electric fan is also in the room. Mini-bar and safety deposit box are en suite. For families with children: up to 2 child traveller aged 0-6 years old sharing the existing beds with adults are complimentary. Children in the 6-11 years old range are charged an extra child rate of PhP 900. Guests above 11 years old pay the extra adult rate in addition to the room night rate. Travel from airport to Honda bay wharf takes about 1 hour and another 1 hour for the boat to reach the island resort. Guests should factor this into their plans. It takes 2 hours of travel between the airport and resort on both ways. Overall, I would stay here agai

Wonderful mini-getaway to unwind”
My husband and I originally booked three nights at the Dos Palmas Island Resort and Spa. However, only upon arrival at the Puerto Princesa airport were we informed that the wharf with boats to the resort closes at 4pm, so we had to stay in town for the night before catching the boat early next morning. We were placed in an affiliated hotel (Asturias Puerto Princesa Palawan), but the price for a room there was a quarter of what we paid for at Dos Palmas. When we raised our concern to a Dos Palmas rep over the phone, he was very helpful in assisting us with a 1-night refund on Agoda with no penalty. Great customer service. The resort itself is situated on a beautiful island. Three private cabanas on the beach, so wake up early to secure a spot. They run daily (2-hr) island tours and offer other activities free of charge. Rooms were clean and in good condition, although the air con blew directly at the bed which was slight uncomfortable. The minor downside is the food - it's good, but definitely not great. The menu is quite limited, the food took 20+ minutes to arrive, and the servers were inflexible with our orders. But overall our stay was pleasant and I'd recommend it to those who's looking for a relaxing getaway.

Special Stay”
we stayed for 2 nights in Dos Palmas. the best part of our stay would be the superb staff who really turned our stay from ordinary to extraordinary! we also ate in the restaurant 4x and we loved everything that we ordered! the serving was generous and the food was delicious! the resort and the island are well taken care of, the amenities are still in good condition even though Dos Palmas has been around for long. the ferry was a bit tiring and our room was in I08 which is a bit of a walk to the restaurant, but these won't take away from our great experience with the resort. thank you Dos Palmas and staff (special shoutout to Donna!)

Great Resort and great location”
When I looking for Dos Palmas in agoda.com, I saw the external hotel picture was very simple, not look like a fantastic resort, but when I arrived, it was very impressive, beginning from pick up at the Puerto Princesa airport, land and sea transport, everything was well manage. At the hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet big and with comfort bed, different from outside picture. There was no television. It must be a music/CD player and sound system in the room to make guests more relax and not boring but unfortunately, there is nothing. Wifi only in the dining room. Food was delicious.

Paradise ”
The staff is so friendly & helpful! We requested to be moved from our first room because it was a long walk from the main area & within 2 hrs we were moved! Warning: no TV's in the rooms (1 at the bar), water & power shut off 10-11a & 4-5p, 1 hr boat ride to get to island (which is complimentary), and wifi only picks up at their restaurant. However, they do have a pool table, ping pong tables, 2 videoke rooms for karaoke lovers, a tennis & basketball court. I had a massage every day (ranges from 700-1300 php) & their spa overlooks the beach! There's a live show in the restaurant wed-sat which is great. They also offer a breakfast every morning which is included with the daily rate :) snorkeling, kayaking, diving and island hopping to another area is also Offered! Rooms need to be updated but the property itself is Gorgeous! They even have a playground for kids & 2 pools. I would highly recommend Dos Palmas simply because it's a secluded island that has everything u need or want :D

Take time to enjoy this tropical paradise”
Whilst some love the hustle and bustle of other resorts in the Philippines I decided that for a short 4 day break I wanted something more relaxing for myself and my partner. The journey to Dos Palmas is part of the holiday traveling from the airport through Peurto Princessa to the dock where you boat transfer awaits. If you arrive early take a chance to grab lunch at the restaurant suggested by the staff rather than waiting for the boat transfer. Once you arrive just sit back and relax on the beach or by the pool, spend the morning on a desert island but don't forget the sunblock! try some kayaking and make sure you don't miss out on some great snorkelling. Dos Palmas has taken pride over the last 15 years to cultivate a marine garden which has some amazing sea life including a plethora of tropical fish, giant clams and even sea turtles. In the evening while away the evening in bar with a few hand crafted cocktails from the bar staff who are always happy to try something new or just relax on your veranda and listen the sea lapping at the shore. Overall 4 days was not quite enough and I would have loved a couple more days of doing nothing. Those of you who might be wary about Dos Palmas based on the high profile incident in 2001, security is really there number 1 priority now. It is unobtrusive and very low profile but it is there.

Great value with great staff”
I would highly recommend Dos Palmas. From the airport to the resort, the staff was amazing. Although Dos Palmas is a resort, it doesnt have the feel of being too developed. The staff is top notch. Very friendly and made our trip. Breakfast buffet is amazing. The food/drink is reasonably priced for a resort. We stayed at Dos Palmas towards the end of our 2 week journey in Palawan. It was a great treat to ourselves after backpacking.

Our Birthdays well spent in Dos Palmas”
All Pros: Free provision land and boat transfers to and fro. Welcome committee to greet you when you arrive (with welcome drinks, token of appreciation, and a briefing). Free use of kayaks, swimming pools, Jacuzzi, cabanas, snorkeling equipment. Free tour to the sand bar island. Food served is of top quality. Value for money and reasonably priced. We stayed initially at D3, then availed the executive suite (X01), very spacious! Staff are excellent, hard working, highly attentive, polite and always happy to help. Andy is an expert hotelier! The team' s superb performance is a reflection of his excellent managerial skills. There has been a lot of improvement since I last visited Dos Palmas in 2013. I reckon it is because of him. Cons. None My husband Graham and I were supposed to stay only for 3 days.. but because we enjoyed everything in Dos Palmas we extended our stay for another 7 days. We will definitely come back and we highly recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing place... highly recommend”
The moment we stepped off the boat... it was an incredible feeling, the island is beaut, they had the actual nicest person in the entire world greet us at the wharf (Eve), in fact, all the staff were always SUPER nice... like ridiculously nice (Bryan and Bern were legends)... anyways, the food was excellent, the activities were well run, we did discover scuba diving & Underground river through Dos Palmas, so glad we did both... the diving was so awesome (Butch was a fantastic instructor and it was an experience I will always remember!) and had we done the underground river tour with anyone else we would've been standing around queuing all day but we were virtually first ones there and got straight on a boat, I recommend both, you'll pay a little more but it's so worth doing!! This place is basically amazing and I will definitely return next time we travel to Palawan.
