Only 20 mins to Ljubljana & good location day trips further afield from Ljubljana. Spacious room but no housekeeping during our 4-night stay. Breakfast was really delicious & staff were very friendly.

Peaceful Access”
After a week in Venice, celebrating my mother's birthday along with my wife, we journeyed to Slovenia to spend 3 days exploring Ljubljana and its surrounding towns. We'd booked Dvor Tacen based on the strength of other reviews and the fact that it was technically in Ljubljana but wasn't directly downtown (we had a car, but if you don't, there's a bus line directly in front that will take you to downtown in 10-15 minutes). We arrived exhausted, were greeted by an extremely helpful employee name Tina, and then went up to our rooms. There are 7 rooms total and both of our rooms were exceptional: large, with soothing lighter woods, clean, comfortable beds and bedding (the most comfortable of our trip), a wonderful shower, and windows everywhere. The hotel overlooks the Sava river and because we had fairly heavy rain on our last day, the river was churning quite impressively. On a sunny afternoon, we ran for an hour through farms and neighborhoods near the bed and breakfast: we count those views and dappled sunlight among the highlights of the trip. Breakfast is on the basement level of the hotel, and it seems to be enjoyed by neighborhood visitors and other travelers too. We initially were concerned of nighttime noise associated with the restaurant (it becomes a bar and cafe (good desserts!) at night), but the windows are excellent and we weren't bothered at all. I'd highly recommend staying here--it allows you a chance to see an urban and rural environment without sacrificing amenities or natural beauty.

First Trip to Slovenia ”
Dvor Tacen turned out to be an excellent place to stay for our visit to Slovenia. In addition to providing a first rate accommodation, comparable with a number of expensive hotels we have stayed in. The owner was incredibly welcoming, helpful and informative throughout our stay. Other staff at Dvor Tacen were professional, approachable, supportive and cheerful - no request was a bother. The room was a very good size, spacious, well furnished with a comfy bed. Super bathroom, exceptionally clean, well laid out, with a superb shower! I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay in the Dvor Tacen.

Excellent Bed and Breakfast on the Sava River”
Dvor Tacen is a very comfortable well maintained accommodation approx 30min by #8 bus from the old town. Our room was a good size, with a large bathroom, heated towel rail for drying washing and a kettle is available on request,(we had our own tea bags). The bus leaves from across the road and a travel card is available from the accommodation. An ample breakfast is provided downstairs in the Tavern. Wifi signal is strong, bed is very comfortable, parking available on site, shower/shampoo, hand wash liquid available ( surprising how many good accommodation places does not supply these now)There is another Tavern next door which serves generous sized meals. The Sava River runs below the building with a white water kayaking course to the right of the bridge. There is a Spar Supermarket nearby. Consider using the 2.5hr free walking tour of the old city which meets in front of the pink church at the 3 bridges, no booking required. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.

Lovely place but a little far from centre”
Dvor Tacen is a lovely, charming place in a very pleasant setting on the outskirts of the city but is a little far if you don't have a car and/or don't wish to drive in Ljubljana. The owner and family are very friendly and helpful and are always available to give advice and suggestions. The rooms are tastefully decorated and are spacious, clean and comfortable. It is a little noisy in the evening though on account of the bar/restaurant next door. It wasn't too bad when we were there (October) but is perhaps an issue in the summer. The walk up the hill adjacent to the B & B is well worth it - great views at the top.

The staff at the Dvor Tacen made my stay just so memorable I can not thank them enough Jasmina, Danijela and Nelc your care and hospitality will not be forgotten. The rooms and beautiful and the grounds are delightful backing onto the river having breakfast with that outlook was a perfect way to start each day. Excellent place! ”
We arrived early and they very kindly allowed early check-in, room was already ready waiting for us. They provided us with lots of information around the area and very informative. Beds were comfortable and of good size. We were driving so distance from the town centre was not an issue and there is a bus from right outside that takes about 25 mins, they provided travel cards and we just had to pay based on number of rides, very convenient. Breakfast was basic (beads, cold cuts, cheese, cereals and eggs) but delicious! If you are not driving, I would recommend somewhere closer to Ljubljana centre.

Smart B&B with good adjacent restaurant”
The only downside (especially for one of us in a wheelchair) is that the hotel is on the first floor, accessible via an external stone staircase, and the bar and breakfast room are only accessible by going outside and around to the back of the building. Facilities are excellent, new and very well appointed. Staff are welcoming and very helpful. The bar is open all day, and next door is a very good restaurant. The location is convenient for visiting Ljubljana. If you don't have a car, there is a regular bus service into town.

Exceptional”
From the moment we arrived, late on Thursday evening, we were warmly welcomed. All the team members were cheerful, friendly and could not do enough to help. We were even loaned an Urbana card which is used to travel on city buses, of course, we paid for the trips. The rooms are very clean and spacious with large ensuite. The breakfast is great and there is a cafe attached to the B&B which offers drinks and snacks all day. My only regret is we were on a weekend break so did not spend as much time as I would have liked here. When I return to Ljubljana I will stay here again.

Amazing location, great rooms, quiet location and close to the center by car”
Charming team in a small and neighborhood location, 7 rooms in total, large and luxurious rooms, tastefully decorated. Below is a café where breakfast is also served. Close to the river, 10 minutes drive from the center of Ljubljana by car, 5 min from the motorway, 20 min from the airport. We slept 4 nights there and enjoyed it very much! It is highly recommended!

This is a charming, beautiful little hotel outside of town with friendly staff ”
Perfect place, especially if you want to rent a car and explore more of Slovenia than Ljubljana center. The rooms are gorgeous and, even though it's on a little bit busy street, well insulated from the traffic noise. The restaurant next door was awesome, and the coffee and breakfast included was fantastic.

Loved this place ! Nice peaceful location by the river, nice rooms and nice staff. Rooms are large and comfortable, they have only 7 rooms. It is a very nice boutique-hotel. Clean, good breakfast, and good location by the river. Not near the city center and the touristic area, but an easy but ride from the bus stop that is just opposite the hotel. They have a free parking and the staff is very friendly and helpful. One thing to improve : I think they should offer a laundry service, instead of directing people to the nearby coin-laundry, which is not near at all, unless you have a car. Even an outsource laundry service, that pick up in the morning and give back in the evening. After all they have a limited space at this hotel. Overall : LOVED THIS PLACE

Staff very friendly and attentive. Located a little out from the city which brings nature and tranquillity, but only a short taxi ride from the central station. Very clean and spacious room, comfortable bed and quality linen. Good breakfast with eggs and coffee prepared to your liking. Great value for money. Highly recommend to others.

Romantic room with everything you need”
This place was a bit out of the centre of Ljubliana, but we wanted a place with free parking. It is easy to find, has free parking, and looks beautiful. The room and bathroom were spacious with modern/ good quality furniture. The bed was amazing! Good price value with (normal but delicious) breakfast.

Nice place”
It’s a nice small “hotel” at the bank of the river Sava, so just on the borders of the nature and the city. The room was absolutely OK, clean & well equipped. The breakfast is simple, but warm food is also available. The restaurant right next to the place is highly recommended for dinner! 😊

Excellent accomodation in a LJU suburb ”
Very nice place to stay. Nice, modern and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with excellent coffee in the adjacent coffee bar on the outside terrace at the river bank. Opposite the stay is a very nice beer garden with great Slovenian food (especially the BBQ options) and beer. Highly recommended for families with children since it has a nice playground which can be overlooked from the seating area. Going into the city center takes about 15min and is very convenient if you have a car. All in all a very nice stay that we can only recommend.

Dvor Tacen Bed & Breakfast”
Though the hotel is a bit far from city centre (around 25 mins by bus), it locates at riverside and we could enjoy a great view through our window. They served simple breakfast with toasts and coffee/tea, but you could enjoy a variey of cakes during tea time or evening. A restaurant and bar called Onion serving awesome Slovenian Food.

Excellent facilities. Short ride from town by bus but worth it. Bus stops right in front and runs regularly. Nice rooms. Quiet. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and generous staff. Would return and highly recommend.
