Room was Clean & friendly staff and hotel is in great location! But the rooms ( both single & twin rooms)were very small we struggled to place our luggages and bathroom is very small unit bath/shower.

LOVE the public bath!!!”

It's great that the hotel comes with a public bath where I can unwind after a day of touring the city. Truly a gem! The location is fantastic as it's so near Sugamo station (not to mention a neighbouring supermarket that sells cheap local fruits and other produce.

Not expensive and Close to JR”

It is not far from JR station. There are restaurants and convenient stores around the area. The room was rather small (like business hotel) but equipped with necessary things. A/C system was switched to heater during cold season (I didn't turn it on). Staff could speak english and was helpful. Worth the money.

Bad internet connection ”

The WiFi connection is very bad. Not able to use at all. Especially in the room.

- Nice Location (Close to JR/Sunway) - You can get free bottle of water on some day (when they don't change your bed sheet - Seiyu is the place to shop for cheap food and drinks - The room is very new (just small which is so normal in Tokyo)

This hotel is very near to Sugamo Station probably 2 minutes , their is a lot of restaurant nearby this hotel , this hotel provide a cool onsen to their customers , I really enjoy my stays in this hotel for a couple of days , will come back if I visit Tokyo in future

First time in this part of the city, APA Sugamo is very pleasant, nice clean room. highly recommend. con: bed a bit too soft, pillow way too thin. pricy breakfast and not much selections. Will definitely return.

Very convenience, close to JR & Subway”

Location is the best, staff are very helpful when i ask to change the room, Hotel facility is awesome especially onsen. If you looking for nice place and not crowed environment in Tokyo, I recommend this hotel

Good place”

Good stuff: near the Jr and the toei subway, many restaurants nearby, the sugamo shopping street is also super near, there’s a 24hr supermarket nearby and free onsen use at the hotel Not so great but tolerable: the size of the room (got the twin room —we had two medium sized luggages and barely any space to walk), the bathroom sink is a hassle to use, cleanliness can be improved, and as what many mentioned, you have no control of room temp That said, I might stay there again...

The best thing about this place is the spa on the top floor. It is a Japanese style sento spa, with semi-outdoor hot tubs to enjoy until 1am every day. I liked the cleaning staff, but the front desk folks were TERRIBLE. I asked how much they would charge if I used the room phone to call a local number. They said they didn't know. I politely said I just wanted to know roughly how much per minute. They kept saying they didn't know as it would depend on how much time I would use and what number to call. I said a couple of times "a local call here in Tokyo for one minute." They said, "sorry, we don't know." I just shouted at them. They smiled and said "I am sorry." I spoke to them in my native language Japanese, but they couldn't answer how much they would charge for a local phone call from my room phone. I told the front desk, they were useless, and they smiled. I felt stupid and sad at the same time.

The location is very good, walk around 5mins can go though JR station Very very clean, quiet and comfort from rooms The Japanese type bathroom locate from 14/F, its very clean The WiFi was totally lagged at night cuz the capacity problem. Check out must be left before 11AM otherwise will have penalty

Good Location”

Very convenient and near JR station. Opposite of the hotel there is a few small shopping streets and even mac donald's (24hours). Directly below the hotel there is 1 sushi restaurant which is 24hours. Hotel was clean and neatly arranged but it was quite cramped. Hotel brochure in the room stated will change the bedsheet every 4th day of the stay but seems like it has not been changed. What is good about this hotel too is they have onsen facilities. Is good for travelers who wants to relax after a long day of walking. Overall is worth to stay.

JR Line and Metro are within 5 mins walk, but the price is much fair as compared to those in Shinjuku or Tokyo station

Phenomenal place to stay”

Though the room is quite small, it has all that you would need: shower and bathtub combo in a well-ventilated bathroom, water heater, soft bed, blackout curtains, clothing air dryer, AC, desk, complimentary toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash). There are a total of 5 outlets (2 by the desk; 2 for your phone on your bedpost; if you unplug the clothing air dryer that's another outlet). Breakfast buffet is 1,700 yen and it is loaded with delicious Japanese foods that caters to both omnivores and herbivores. The best part of this entire experience would be the 14th floor public baths. There is an open air bath, an indoor bath, and of course a bunch of showers for you to rinse off your body prior to bathing. Extremely relaxing, especially after flying from NYC. They also have a beautiful lobby. Tsuta Ramen: I chose this location primarily because it's 6 minutes walking distance from the one-michelin starred restaurant Tsuta Ramen, right by the Sugamo train station.

awesome location about 2 minute walk from JR station sugamo on the JR loop. its a quiter area of toyko but some awesome restaurants. not all that much to see in surrounding areas but very easy to travel to other major areas

staff very friendly. complete amenity. big TV. altho room is relatively small, we’re still satisfied. the onsen is a great experience which made Japan visit more memorable. visit the onsen at off peak hours.

Very near JR line and Mira line, about 5 mins walking distance, a lot of shop around the hotel. Very convenient. Only not satisfied with the cleanness, a bit dusty. Overall is very good. Highly recommended to Friend.

Nice & clean! ”

Hot bath on top floor was good!! You’ll relax after a long walk of the day. Surroundings have a Japanese nostalgic atmosphere, which made me feel I had been in Showa era. Situated just a short walk from JR Sugamo station.
